Do you ever have a conversation with someone and you are so lost trying to follow them the entire time?? Story of my life with my MIL. None of its offensive or anything like that, just mentally exhausting trying to track her. For example, tonight I learned my LO has red/auburn hair!!! LMAO I didn't catch who she said she was talking about to her friend at work, and she said "well your boy and his beautiful strawberry/red/auburn hair!" WTF. I literally looked at my DH, we both are like huh? Then we were so lost we didn't even comment. My LO was born with black hair and it's brown now. He has big blue eyes. In no universe does my son have red or auburn hair?! Not even a shade or highlight of it. She was standing right next to me while I heald my LO...and she was talking about his auburn hair?!?! I love a cute red head but please don't tell people our LO has red hair. They will think you are crazy when they meet him and it's not red. It would be like saying he has brown eyes. Not even kind of close. It was so weird!!!!
She reminds me of my old grandma, who always got her facts mixed up and said crazy things. Anyone else!
Re: Things my MIL says LOL
Mine isnt quite like that, though she tries to act like she knows my kids more than me. She'll be like well "this twin is easier to make smile than the other." & ill be like "no the other is." Then shell say "this one sleeps more than the other." my response "no they sleep almost the same amount, i have them on the same schedule but on the weekends it shifts since were out & about." or "this twin eats more." my response "no they eat the same amount."
Just random things like that. Sometimes she'll want to sit there and argue & tell me the contrary & i tell her, "really? Im their mom i know my kids." she used to do it a lot with DD when she was a baby as well. Sometimes I just think to my self "dude! My kids im raising them, you're not gonna know them more than i do!"
So i guess she has her facts mixed up as well, or should i say tries to make up her own lol.
One thing recently I saw her text my husband.. So we were planning a day with her (joy) and they got the day planned out, etc and she says to my husband "oh Rita can come too if she wants".... Uhhhhh, gee, thanks!
& thats so dumb & messed up! What would make her think your children & husband would be going somewhere without you?
DH is less than 25% Chinese. None of his siblings or their kids look Chinese lol. His mom doesn't even! Just to be clear it wouldn't matter if any of them did, I just think it's funny. So does DH.
She also likes to commit to things with no intention of following through. I think she is legit forgetful and it's getting worse. I love the lady but twice in two weeks she said she would babysit but coukdnt actually do it. I don't have much of a life and to do something without the kids takes a lot of planning, so I take those offers very seriously.
They just dont want to give us credit for good looking kids
My MIL, my mom and I have brown eyes. LOs eyes started out gray and MIL was sure they were gonna go blue and be "beautiful" like the older kids. There was no way she was going to have blue.
They're all kinds of brown. And she still insists that they could still change.
No dice, crazy lady.
I just dont don't understand why she so desperately wants her eyes to be blue and not brown. What's wrong with brown???

"I'm having fruit salad for dinner. Well, it's mostly just grapes, actually. Ok all grapes. Fermented grapes. Fine, I'm having wine for dinner."
Same when I had my first. She talks all the time how my daughter looks just like her and my Dh. Reality is that she's the spitting image of me and my grandma. I think mil's have a hard time sharing/admitting we're a part of this too.
