TMI...anyone get mucous-like discharge?

Not to gross anyone out, but I was wondering if anyone else is dealing with thick, mucous-like discharge?? I'm not worried about infections bc there's no pain/smell:weird color, but googling on the Internet has me worried about losing a big chunk of mucous plug (which would be way too early at 9wks and change). Just saw the perinatologist yesterday, so hoping to hear from fellow moms/mom-to-be's instead of bugging the hospital again (got to save that for plenty of future opportunities :) ) thanks

the first trimester was non stop mucus discharge to the point of wearing panty liners everyday. Don't worry about mucus plug, it start forming around week 7-8ish so it would be really surprising you are already loosing it. Also later on you can lose some of it (after sex for exemple) without being worrisome because it replenish until the 35 week.

  • I'm 11 weeks and just started noticing the same thing. Up until now I've had very watery/milky discharge but it just started to get thicker. The first time I saw it I thought the same thing but I asked a friend who's 17 weeks and she said its normal!

  • This just helped me calm down. I am so thankful for the search function! Haha. Not just me.
  • THAT, my friends, is what some know as "the snail trail" and it can be a whole pregnancy long companion for some women. Panty-liners are perfect for this. Keep a stock in your handbag so you can change whenever you need to and keep from feeling icky.
