Our babies are big enough for back carries now, which are easier on your back than using a front facing carrier. I find if LO is nosy I can put her on my hip or back and she's happy with the view.
I have an infantino. It's ok. I find it's more comfortable to use when standing as opposed to walking now that she's heavier. I keep hearing really great things about the Ergo 360, but it's really expensive
I have an Infantino too which has been really great especially when we travel. Since it's so hot where we live I am looking for something lighter. I'm going to try on a Lillebaby airflow at a local store that carries them because I've heard good things about them.
Babywearing 102 might be a good place to ask. I'm an BW leader and find that at our LOs sizes that it can be extremely uncomfortable for both parties to wear front facing, as a PP said, back carry is where it's at. Perhaps, you could look up a local babywearing group? They usually have stuff to try out and can help you with figuring out how to do back carries? I know lots of people get intimidated by doing them.
I hated the ergo 360 because of the large Velcro waist band. It also recommended to limit the babies time facing out although I think my daughter would like that now. I gave the regular ergo. If I wear it to the grocery store though I get really hot. I might try the back carry soon.
Most soft structured carriers (ergo, Beco, boba, chimparoo, lillebaby, Tula, lenny lamb, kinderpack, and many more) do front and back carries, and some do hip as well. I use a Chimparoo trek (the pic below of me outside was last week) most of the time, because it's quick to get on, and DD1 fit into it for ages (she still fits at 3yo with the foot stirrups, but if she really wants to be up (sick or long walk) I prefer a woven wrap for her weight.
Hip carry is fastest with a pouch style sling, like a hotslings. I keep one folded in my diaper bag to use in a pinch. You could also use a ring sling, certain SSCs or a wrap, but pouch slings are cheap, thin (great for hot weather) and easy. I don't have a pic on my phone of me using a hip carry, but this is a pouch sling with a forward facing carry. The little rascal's (DD1) foot should be inside.
I have always had good luck with Tulas, and folks in my group also like Becos, Lillebaby, Lenny Lambs, Action Baby Carriers and Kinderpacks. It takes a little practice figuring out the best way to physically get them on your back but a few experts on YouTube, Wrap You in Love is a good one, have videos on the different ways.
Re: Front Facing Carriers
New question @etayislove and @ForeverEverAfter what back carriers do you use?
