Hi guys,
I've been lurking this board for awhile, and everyone seems very friendly and supportive, so I figured I'd give it a go.
DH and I have been TTC since October 2014. Fell into the "you'll get PG the second you go off the pill" trap. Obviously, no such luck. After 6 months of very irregular (1-3 month long) cycles, my GP put me on progesterone to kick start them. Problem was, I didn't know enough to make sure I had ovulated before starting it each cycle, and I had no instructions to do so. Started reading TCOYF and Bump threads, and began to see a problem there...
Fast forward to the 1 year mark - saw an RE who did 1 ultrasound and gave a PCOS diagnosis. I'm not opposed to that as a diagnosis, but I'm not sure I buy it. Regular periods prior to BCP, no other symptoms, and 6 months of suppressed ovulation seem like they might cause a similar scan result? DH had an SA with results that my GP wanted to check again but RE said were fine.
RE said wait 2 months, if no AF start meds. Well, 4 regular cycles with confirmed O (via temping) later, and now I don't know what to do! RE's office is still happy to start me on Letrozole or do an HSG, but didn't see the need for another ultrasound to confirm their diagnosis. Not sure I want to start meds in case my cycles are finally regulating, and HSG has the potential to be very spendy, as my insurance probably won't cover.
Not super familiar with PCOS, other than I know it can make this process more difficult. Is it normal to O or have appearance of O regularly but still need meds? Feeling frustrated with doctors at the moment!

April-May 2016: treatment on hold due to bad thyroid levels, adjusted meds

Sept/Oct 2016: IVF + ICSI
four regular cycles with ovulation, that's awesome! If your cycles are on track then perhaps hold off on the treatments???? Honestly I am so inpatient that I would start treatments.
Third cycle Clomid 6/29/16 O'd CD 16 BFP @11dpo!
EDD April 3 and praying things work out!

I'm torn - wait because meds mess with me or start because I'm impatient
@ducks&cats - yes, but then had a normal cycle anyway, so I'm not sure how that works. Sigh.
