I tried Stitch Fix a long time ago and liked it in the beginning. A friend of mine told me they now have maternity. Has anyone tried it? Would you recommend?
They do have maternity, I just received a Fix on Tuesday. The clothes were cute, and the designers were all from places like A Pea in the Pod and others sold at Nordstrom's. Which also meant the prices were up there and no chance of a sale. The most affordable item was a cotton shirt with polka dots for $44. I just personally don't like to spend a ton of money on maternity clothes and have already spent a pretty decent amount this pregnancy just to get more work appropriate items by stalking Loft and Destination Maternity for major sales (40% off or more). I couldn't justify spending $88 on a maternity dress that I won't wear again. But, if you plan to have more pregnancies it might be worth it! I was also annoyed that they sent me maternity skinny jeans when I asked for summer items. What pregnant lady wants to wear jeans in the summer?!??
I have done a total of 5 fix boxes... I stopped for a while and did a maternity one a couple of weeks ago after I found out they started maternity fixes. It was awful. I have never, not bought something from a fix. All of the items were over $48 (the cheapest being a cotton t-shirt - not worth $48)! The entire box would have cost me $250 including the entire box purchase discount. It just was not worth it considering these pieces can only be worn for a short while. I probably could have worn the dress ($90) after baby.
The other thing that irked me was the fact that I asked for staple maternity work pieces and maxi dresses that were spring inspired for work. They sent me 2 pairs of shorts (one was dressy - both were too short for work), a pair of denim jeans, a cotton t-shirt top, and a dress that was not work appropriate. I don't feel like they took into account what I asked for at all. I was honestly hoping with my feedback that they would send me a new fix and waive the styling fee, but they didn't =(.
I might do stitch after maternity again, but I definitely will not be ordering another maternity fix. I hope this helps. Like PP said you can get better deals and not risk a styling fee at your local Destination Maternity, A Pea in the Pod, etc.
I tried stitch fix maternity and also thought it was awful. The material of some of the items were not flattering and I thought slightly expensive for clothes I would wear for a short period of time. I only tried two maternity boxes though.

I have had two maternity fixes so far and was pretty happy with them! I kept three items from each. I have been doing Stitch Fix for about 2 years now and loved them at first, but they got really popular and the stylists seem hit or miss.
@bananers I agree, I liked them at first (when not pregnant) but then it seemed like the stylists either didn't have time to personalize to what you said you liked or wanted or hadn't read your comments from before or looked at what you had received. I liked what was sent, but just can't spend that much on clothes I only need for a few more months.
I loved Stitch Fix pre-pregnancy and usually kept everything. I tried one maternity fix and was so utterly disappointed that I didn't even bother to try on half the things and sent it all back. I asked for dresses for spring weddings and they sent me two black dresses... A pair of blue heels that I wouldn't wear at any time, a seriously ugly shirt and a frumpy jacket/sweater thing. Every single item was ridiculously over priced. I cancelled my next fixes but we'll probably go back post baby.
I wasn't impressed with the maternity box. I think they sent what I requested and I ended up keeping one of the tops but it was expensive at like $40 for a knit t-shirt like top.
I just personally spend more around $20 for a piece of clothing unless its a staple item (black dress pants, etc). Some of the stuff just wasn't high enough quality to be staple pieces or was too trendy/unique to justify the cost.
I've done one non-maternity stitch fix and while some of items were cute, they are just so exorbitantly expensive. I kept one item and it only lasted about 6 months before it fell apart. I've gotten better quality stuff from Ross, so I'd be very hesitant about trying it for maternity items you'll only wear for a few months.
I do it normally every 2-3 mos for the past maybe 18 mos, and I've found that my fixes have gotten better and better, and I've received one maternity fix so far. In the maternity fix, their style and sizes were actually spot on! Ironically, I sent everything back because it was literally so similar to things I already owned so they definitely got my style right. I agree that the items are pretty expensive, but I get so much wear out of them, so you're definitely getting quality stuff. And maternity stuff is sooooo easy to resell used, that I don't worry about spending money on things because I know I'll get at least some of it back. You just have to be VERY specific about what you don't want, not even necessarily about what you do what. I've found when I make comments like "do not send any bottoms" they comply with my request. I also always write detailed comments about the fix items, both good and bad, so they get a real sense of what I like and don't like about certain things. I think it makes a difference.
This is all so helpful! I thought it may be fun to do and a change from Old Navy and Target, which is where I buy a bulk of my clothes.
I started getting my fixes when I was super heavy while breastfeeding. I needed something different from the norm, and I was on the verge of being plus size, but not quite that big, and it was getting really hard to find clothes that fit and were still stylish so I decided to give Stitch Fix a try and I got a lot of great pieces that I was able to wear and made me feel better in my BFing body.
I've done 2 stitch fix boxes so far of maternity and kept a couple pieces each box. What I really like is Le Tote for maternity clothes... about to send back box 2 and loving it. For a flat monthly fee, you "rent" as many boxes of clothes as you want. I bought a few work pieces and am planning to use Le Tote to basically totally dress me until baby comes.
My first Le Tote is coming next week! I work from home & this is our last kid so I do t want to buy a ton of stuff. Hoping this will be a good solution for weekend/going out stuff.
I have received two Le Totes so far but I'm not impressed with the selection of clothes. So many sweaters and wintery clothes! Where are all the spring pieces??
I have gotten one stitch fix maternity box so far, another is coming next week. Overall, I was pleased with the box. I have found it impossible to find things that fit this pregnancy, let alone look good. The things in the stitch fix box fit, they just weren't necessarily my style. Plus, everything I wear I have to be able to wear a regular bra with, and one of the dresses was sort of a see-through racerback style. I decided to give it one more shot, I have weddings coming up so I asked for all dresses in my next box. We'll see how it goes. At the least, it's kind of fun?
Also, I posted a review with pictures of all the items on my blog at www.spencerbaby.com if anyone wants to check out what I got!
I got that same Chesnie boat neck top in my last fix and I returned it as well. It was REALLY long on me. Like I could have probably gotten away with wearing it as a dress if I were into bodycon, lol. I know I would probably appreciate the longer tops toward the end (with DS1 everything was too short those last few weeks), but I may not necessarily want long sleeves at the middle/end of August either.
PS - I like your blog! We should get an August moms blog list going. I'm at www.keepingupwiththehoffmans.com if you want to follow!
I was looking at LeTote. We have 2 weddings in May, so this may be a good option to find something cute to wear to that. Another rental option is Rent the Runway. Just add "bump friendly" to your filters under body type. I haven't actually rented any pieces to see how they fit my bump, but they have some cute options. It may be more expensive since you pay per item, but you'll be able to know what you're getting in advance.
They do have maternity! I got the cutest box this last month! I only ended up keeping a couple of things, but I got sent a gorgeous body con dress and nursing/maternity shirt. LOVE IT.
