Boy vote- and how popular is this name in your area?

Last name sounds like Barista. Husband's frontrunner is Eli but I'm overly concerned with how popular it is (Eli is #49 but Elijah is #11). I really hate to be under the top 20, however I only know one little Elijah right now, which doesn't seem so bad compared to 3 Benjamin, 3 Owen, 3 Jackson that I know. What do you think?

  • I like both but know less Coles.

Eli is just similar to a lot of names that are popular in my area including Elijah, Elliott,Eli itself, Elias, Ellis

  • I don't personally know any babies names Eli.
I know one 5 year old named Cole.

I like Eli better than Cole (tho they are both fine), and I know none of either name right now. But then, I live in a super small town and have almost no friends

Edit - in this town I have almost no friends. I do at least have friends elsewhere, thankfully

  • I know 3 Eli's, but they're all between 6 and 10 years old.  I prefer Cole.
  • I prefer Cole, but Eli is a good name.  I know 1 Eli and 1 Elijah... I don't know any Coles
  • I prefer Eli. In Houston I know more Cole/Colt than Eli. But overall, I do hear Eli more other places, so that isn't super helpful.
  • OP, I am in the same boat as you!  Elijah nn Eli is my favorite name but I'm trying to figure out if it's too popular.  I only know a 5 year old Elijah and a 1 year old Eli.  My second choice name is between 200-250 in popularity.  I don't know what to do!!!
  • I voted for Eli Robert.

Cole is a great name, but in my (completely subjective) opinion, Eli and Robert go better together.
  • I prefer Eli. As a teacher, I know three kids named Cole and only one Elijah. Don't know any Eli's.

  • @austinjl My H keeps saying "Well Elijah is the popular name, and that's a completely different name from Eli". And I'm like no it's not because basically all Elijah's go by Eli (just like you said you would like to do!). He doesn't believe me LOL
  • I don't know any of either name. I'd probably assume Eli is a nn for Elijah but still like it better than Cole. Both are good though.
  • We had one Elijah nn Eli in swim lessons.. Only one I know. In the Midwest. Don't know any Coles, but like Elijah/Eli better
  • I'm an elementary school teacher. There are 1-2 boys named Eli/Elijah in each grade. I've only known of 1 Cole in the 5 years I've been teaching. Voted for Cole.
  • I like the name Elijah and Elias with the nickname Eli. I don't know many people with either of them.

I know many Coles but no Eli's
There was one Elijah in my town back in grade school. I haven't met one since.
