I am COMPLETELY uncomfortable now.... I can't ever get comfortable, I can't sleep, my back hurts SO bad, and my upper abdomen is starting to really hurt - it feels like he has run out of room! Continuing to work is really hard now and I kinda hate my husband lately.
What are you doing to prepare for baby?
Oh man. I'm scouring Craigslist and offer up for cloth diapers.... I still have so much to do but that's a start!
GTKY: Is your current occupation what you went to school for or what you imagined yourself doing?
Ummmm no. I went to school for metallurgy and always imagined I would be a jeweler. Right now I handle customer service for a supplement company. I've been thinking about going to the GIA though and becoming a jeweler after all.
@Love4Labs326 you are so absolutely right. When we were told we couldn't get pregnant, we looked into adoption and found agencies that actually refused us because of my H's history of cancer. SERIOUSLY?! The reason we had to adopt was because he had cancer, so why would that exclude us? It literally made no sense.
@Love4Labs326 rrrg that makes me so angry that you're going through this. We'd really like to adopt in a few years and the red tape just makes it seem so daunting. I'm sure you'll be an amazing mom and it makes me fume that someone else has to evaluate if you "qualify". Is your adoption in jeopardy or are these just a bunch of hoops that you have to go through along the way? Either way, boo and I'm so sorry to hear this.
@chelseay416 I kinda thought that after I saw my cousin post a pic from there and she lives in CO. @shannonrnbsn You are freaking me out now! I'm praying our home study will go well but what if it doesn't! @SMLmom I'm hoping these are just some hoops but after what shannonrnbsn said, I'm not sure. We meet with an attorney tomorrow to get the ball rolling. I had no clue it was going to be this difficult!

@shannonrnbsn seriously, they denied you because your husband had cancer? Obviously, you can expect some hoops to go through, because taking care of another life is a big responsibility and they shouldn't just hand children out to anyone. However, it seems a lot of good parents are discouraged and it's so sad when it seems there are so many children that need homes.
Not to compare pets to children, but you have to be cleared to adopt a dog or cat too. We had to fill out a whole adoption form to adopt our dog, and there are tons of animals that need forever homes too. I understand it, but it can be daunting and annoying for some people.
A woman I went to HS and her husband are adopting a child from another country, and they've been doing paperwork for 2 years now, and finally met their future daughter last week. It's still a long process and they now won't see her for another 4 months.

also look for local cloth diaper swap groups. I lucked our on CL but I've been told multiple times about the existence of local groups.
