  • My daughter has kindergarten round-up today and I'm more looking forward to leaving work at noon than anything. I'm just going to drop her off and go home (parents don't stay, I guess) and then pick her up a couple of hours later. I can't wait to NOT be in the office on this beautiful Friday afternoon!

Another confession: I'm currently halfway through my Bachelor's program (online) and I recently decided to just do all of the group projects by myself. Anytime I leave stuff up to my group-mates, we get points deducted, and I'm too much of a perfectionist to get less than an A on anything. Not sure if my group will love me or hate me for this. Oh well.

  • I recently decided that after all the drama we've had with my inlaws recently that I was just going to quit asking about them ect. DH went up there by himself this past weekend while I was at my sisters house warming party. I am secretly dying to ask DH about it but we've actually had a really good week so I'm not. I just want to know if they've said anything about DD not coming with him last weekend. Ugh

A lot of people are offering/giving me hand-me-down baby stuff, which I'm very grateful for. But sometimes I just want a brand new shiny thing, you know?
I 100% agree with this. My SIL and MIL were so upset my SIL got rid of all of my nieces clothes when we found out this one is a girl. I was happy! They dressed my niece in cute things but that was almost 8 years ago and can't my kid have new clothes, too?

They also want to give me her cloth diapers. That one just seems a little gross to me. I'll buy new ones, thanks.  :s
  • I never liked the show Friends. When my roommates would watch it in college I found it tedious and annoying.
  • @Snaps816 Totally understand!  My cousin couldn't understand why I didn't want all of her used baby gear.  Honestly, some of it was VERY dirty and I couldn't get it clean.

  • Kinda not concerned with L&D this time because it's only one day of my life (hopefully as short as last time), and once baby is here they'll be so many other things to worry about and be exhausted from.

My DH is a little sarcastic and blasé about it, "You can have a baby anywhere, right?" Lol
  • Pretty much everyone in my department (which is new to the company, created about 14 months ago) is looking for new positions.  As am I, but am terrified I will be the last one left because I'm 23 weeks pregnant and won't be able to find anything before maternity leave. I know I should be grateful that I have a job, that has maternity leave and the option to even be considering other jobs at this point.  But I have to use my brain more or I will go crazy. And so will DH from listening to me.

  • As a Canadian I hate watching any movie or tv show where they will talk about a Canadian city and say something along the lines of Toronto, Canada or Vancouver Canada. No. Just no. It's Toronto Ontario, and if you need to add Canada sure go ahead. However Canada is not a state, province or territory. It irks me.

This is not directed to American media since many other European countries and Russia also do it. I try to be educated enough to know about other countries or to at least do some research. I would never say Houston USA, that's just dumb.

I also understand that America is way more popular and talked about than Canada but still.

Hope I didn't insult anyone since it was not my intention. It's directed more towards Hollywood and their ignorance.
  • I don't get the whole craft beer craze. I also may "pretend" I think batches of beer my husband brews special recipes are good.

  • I don't post on the ticker change or HDBD. I really should do the ticker, because I do like to be involved. As for HDBD, well I may feel like I look ok and have the right light, the picture still comes out like this...

I don't usually post on the ticker change day either. Mostly because I am lazy and usually mobile bumping.

"how many weeks?" 21. That was an easy answer. I got this.
"How Big is Baby?" Leaves thread to look up the fruit of the week.
"GTKY?" Scrolls back up, what was the question again? Ugh, never mind I quit.

  • @texasmama2014 you are so not alone on this one. With my last pregnancy I gained so slowly and was much healthier (exercised more, ate better, etc) but this time it's so much harder. I think it's partially because I have a 2 year old and I don't have the same energy or time to devote to myself. Either way, I keep reminding myself that as long as I'm not going crazy, and being semi-balanced, the baby is getting what he needs and I will get my body back at some point. This isn't forever!

Now my second confession is that I'm pretty sure I've only eaten carbs today... So much for that balanced eating thing.

But do you say Paris, France? Or Paris, Ile-de-France? Cancun, Mexico? Or Cancun, Quintana Roo? Other countries have states/provinces too.

  • My pregnancy brain has been extremely bad here recently and it's been really bad with me trying to talk or formulate sentences on here. I apologize to any grammar police out there because I'm sure my posts make you crazy. I don't have enough energy to correct things or retype statements so they make more sense.
  • @Bookhousegirl, I'm pretty sure I've only eaten carbs for about a week. :-(
  • @Lynnlove28 I'm a copy editor at a newspaper, so grammar is my living. But your posts haven't bothered me at all. I can't judge because even though this is my job, I've been having grammatical and spelling errors like crazy in my posts. I'm a mobile user and my phone doesn't point out my spelling errors. Plus I've got the pregnancy brain thing going on too and I'm pretty sure I've used words that make absolutely no sense.

@Texasmama2014 and @Bookhousegirl I've been feeling so guilty about the way I've been eating too! I've been trying to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into my diet lately, but ever since I got pregnant I've given in to pretty much all of my cravings. At least once a day (sometimes twice...) I'll either have ice cream or doughnuts or something unhealthy that a coworker brings into work. I've gained 18 pounds so far, so I feel a little guilty. But at the same time, I really enjoy eating it.

I never look at the HDBD thread because photo threads ALWAYS make the bump app crash on my phone.  Sorry y'all, I'm sure you are lovely.

Edited because my phone autocorrect to strange things and I have fat fingers. I am probably guilty of the poor grammar posts, my phone loves to change "for" to "fir" and other strange alterations.

FWIW, I'm a self-proclaimed grammar nazi and I've never noticed your posts as being offensive.

My FFFC is that there are a couple posters on here I completely skip over whenever I see their names because they can't even be bothered to use punctuation and I got tired of trying to decipher their posts.
Guilty! I read and correct agreements all day and I use bump as my break from being grammatically correct. It's as badass as I can be lately.
