We think we have settled on a name for our daughter, but i'm still not 100% sure and wanted to do a poll. We want a name with family meaning and want to name her after my Grandmother Eleanor Elizabeth, who recently passed away. So this is what we have narrowed it down to: Kara Beth (My Grandmother was Irish and Kara is Irish and means friend. Beth is a short version of Elizabeth) Or Eleanor Elizabeth- nn Ella Or Ella May (I prefer to call my kids by their full names, so I'm leaning towards Ella instead of Eleanor since I like that better than Eleanor)
PS- We are not crazy about popular names (top 100) but think that loving the name is more important than popularity.
I voted for Eleanor Elizabeth. Kara Beth is also a very pretty name. I love the NN Ella for Eleanor and Ella as a standalone name is acceptable as well however, I'm a firm believer in giving children options. She may wish to go by Eleanor when she gets older as it sounds more mature (totally subjective opinion).
Thank you for the votes and comments! I do like Kara Elizabeth! The reason we were thinking Beth instead of Elizabeth was because of initials. I'm not crazy about initials that spell words, so I didn't think much about Elizabeth. But I like it!
