How far along are you and how big is that baby you're cookin'?: 29 weeks! I haven't checked the apps to see what weird large thing that equates to...
Anything baby related happening this week? I just got the results that I passed my 3 hour test with flying colors after barely failing the 1 hour. Grumble grumble. Oh well worth it for the little guy. This week is my "off" week for appointments. Going every other week now is weird!
Rants/raves/symptoms: My feet seem to be swelling more and I've got some cankles going on after a few hours of standing. I do think I look "cute" right now as I haven't gained weight besides my belly. As an already overweight girl I am damn grateful to that!
GTKY: Do you have pets? If so, how are you planning on dealing with the transition when the baby comes home?: Two doggies. My girl Lucy is terrified of babies and I can see her being sad and jealous when she's not #1. Our little guy Hank is deaf and happy as a clam and loves babies. He will be fine. I am keeping the nursery open to them and smell baby stuff. They get to sleep in bed with us which won't change and should help too.
How far along are you and how big is that baby you're cookin'? 28 Weeks. This baby is an eggplant.
Anything baby related happening this week? Just did my 1 hour glucose test this morning. Baby shower is next Sunday!
Rants/raves/symptoms: I just want to sleep comfortably, but from what I'm hearing, that's a silly hope to have in the 3rd trimester. I'm just trying to enjoy the time I have left where it's just me and the baby before I have to share him with the world.
GTKY: Do you have pets? If so, how are you planning on dealing with the transition when the baby comes home? I have a cat named Bruce. I'm just kind of hoping for the best. The cat is all about cuddling and being all up on me whenever I sit down, so it may take some adjusting for him to realize he can't be all over me (or on the baby) once the baby comes.
How far along are you and how big is that baby you're cookin'? 29 weeks, he's a pineapple, a cotton tail rabbit, or an acorn squash.
Anything baby related happening this week? Just waiting to hear about my 1hr glucose test, working on some baby crafting, and adjusting my registries now that invites have gone out. A few days ago I made a super nerdy spreadsheet of all the clothes and cloth diapers we have broken down by size and type so I know what we still need. It was very comforting haha.
Rants/raves/symptoms The tiny stomach, slowed digestion, heartburn/reflux combo is KILLING ME. I ate dinner last night and it was so good but I could only eat maybe a quarter of it before I was painfully full. And then I just couldn't digest it fast enough to get comfortable and I threw it all up, which made me mad because then I was hungry again. Apple cider vinegar helps a lot with the reflux and the heart burn but I didn't bring any to the restaurant which I guess was a mistake. Other than that: no sleep, still feels like someone kicked me in the crotch, I'm surprised I remember my own name... but my hair looks great!
GTKY: Do you have pets? If so, how are you planning on dealing with the transition when the baby comes home? I have a dog, Ari, and two cats, Desmond and Paulie (plus my roommates cats...). I don't really have a plan, but I'm trying to make one. My dog can be pretty jealous when I give attention to anything but him, but I'm hoping as long as he still feels included then we will be fine. I'm still going to let him sleep with us too. My cats have never really cared about babies when they were around, I imagine they will he curious though. My big cat jumped in the bassinet the other day so I grabbed him and took him out which just made it more fascinating to him haha.
How far along are you and how big is that baby you're cookin'? 25 weeks. Two rutabagas/cauliflowers/prairie dogs this week. So weird.
Anything baby related happening this week? Hoping DH gets his butt in gear to put the cribs together. Other than that, nothing until the following week for a heartbeat scan/normal every two week business.
Rants/raves/symptoms Severe back pain when I try to act like a normal human and stand while chatting with people or going shopping. I'm carrying everything up front and I wasn't super strong to begin with and now I feel like a weak weenie.
GTKY: Do you have pets? If so, how are you planning on dealing with the transition when the baby comes home? I have two cats. One I'm sure will be great with the babies, the other I'm terrified about. She hates all other people other than me and has been known to get aggressive. Fingers crossed for me on that one...
29 weeks! Baby is a cotton tailed rabbit, apparently. Or a pineapple!
I have my 1hr glucose test on Wednesday, and on Thursday we go to a meet & greet for the pediatrician. I'm excited to have both of those things crossed off the list! I also started seeing a chiropractor, and I'm hoping to go in once a week until the baby comes to keep my back in check. Because my back is majorly protesting.
My stomach is tiny and the reflux is angry (though the acv helps a lot). My upper back, lower back, and SI joint are all giving me a lot of trouble. Chiropractor helps, as do bubble baths and not sitting too long. Or standing too long. Or laying down too long.
I have two dogs, and concerns about the transition for both of them. I've been letting them in the nursery while I'm in there getting things together, and I've been playing "baby noises" like crying and cooing to get them used to some of it. And trying to reinforce the no jumping on the bed thing. We'll see. I'm pretty confident that it'll all work out, and I'm so glad they have each other.
I had my 1hr GTT Wed. Failed. 3hr was Friday. Should have the results sometime next week. Really hoping I don't have GD this go around. I also moved my 1yr olds clothes out of the bins that this baby's clothes will go in. Yay for something baby related to done.
Heart burn, nose bleeds, RLP, sciatica, headaches, and all that fun stuff.
We have two big dogs and a cat. This is kid #4 so they don't give a shit anymore. With my first we did set up the nursery in advance, let everyone check it out, and brushed up on basic obedience to prepare though.
Wife. Boy mom x6. Expecting #7. Wannabe homesteader. , 💙💙💙💙💙💙
How far along are you and how big is that baby you're cookin'? 29 weeks. Hawaiian pineapple/ cottontail rabbit.
Anything baby related happening this week? We have our first every-two-weeks appointment on Friday and I'm looking forward to that. My mom and I hit up a Outgrow Outplay consignment sale this morning. There was supposed to be a first time mom's advance pass for the first hour and I registered for it but when I showed up at the designated time there were no passes to give out and there were 100+ people already in line. It was absolute chaos but we made out with some good stuff. I got a snoogle for $30 and I'm super excited to try it out tonight.
Rants/raves/symptoms Back and hip and leg pain are getting way worse and this week I've noticed my feet and calves are swollen every day, same with my hands and fingers today.
GTKY: Do you have pets? If so, how are you planning on dealing with the transition when the baby comes home? No pets, sadly. We've love to have them but we can't commit the time or money at this point.
Just had my first baby shower in my hometown. It was so lovely!!!! Will hope to put together the crib this week. Also we have a fetal echo scheduled on Tues to look at baby's heart.
Third trimester! I'm feeling mostly fine, tired and dealing with allergies is not fun though. Having some trouble sleeping now.
We have a dog. I'm pretty sure she'll be protective of baby. That or she wont care about him much at all. We've been letting her in the baby's room and my husband will bring baby smelling stuff home from the hospital before we come back.
DD is spending her first night in her big girl bed and I'm so nervous. She's been doing great for naps, but waking up after them a little freaked out, so not sure how she'll do when she wakes up in the middle of the night. Also, I'm not even a baby person, but I'm a little sad she's getting so big! Planning to move her stuff out of the nursery tomorrow and start unpacking and washing baby stuff. Sniff.
Feeling good. Besides first tri nausea, I really enjoyed pregnancy last time. I was in much better shape though, so we'll see how long it lasts this time.
No pets for us. We are dog lovers, but we travel quite a bit and haven't wanted to deal with finding dog care on trips. When the kids are old enough to ask for a dog, we'll probably get one.
