Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Forgetfulness after miscarriage

Maybe it's the fact that I'm emotional or maybe I still have pregnancy brain, but I was wondering if this was common for anyone else. I have been really bad with it. I'm very organized and usually the type to remember everything. I insist on taking care of bills and stuff because my husband is usually the forgetful one. I forgot the electric bill and my car payment this month. I also forgot about my follow up appt with my OB twice this week. (Luckily, they're very understanding.)

  • I haven't experienced it personally but I think it's normal for some. Not that there's something wrong with your brain, but the emotional toll of the traumatic experience can make you forget things here and there. Take it easy on yourself. Hugs.

  • Yes it was very bad for me. It has gotten better but I still have to keep everything written down so I don't forget it.

  • I haven't been forgetful but I have noticed mixing up my words while speaking like "Their lost last" instead of "Their last lost". Noticed it a couple of times, that and I seem to be loosing a palmful of hair every morning in the shower. Not sure if this is MC related or stress or maybe both.

  • @lilylover27 I have been experiencing the same exact thing. Either mixing up words, or not being able to find the words that I want to use.

  • Hello, I'm a lurker from the TTCAL board. I had this really bad during and after my miscarriage, mostly from the intense hormone crash but obviously partly from the incredible emotional toll it takes on a person. I couldn't finish a sentence for at least a month, as well just not remembering what DH or I had just said or done. I had leave notes for myself for important things right after I'd done them. Many creepy stranger hugs to you.
