Lazy 7 month

I know it is not a very good Idea to compare babies but my just turned 7 month old seems like he is lazy, he does not turn over he does so slightly, but if he is on tummy time he will rarely roll over, and he is still eating every 21/2 to  3 hours and not teeth yet.  I know most of the babies that I have seen are so much  more active.  How are all your babies doing?

Re: Lazy 7 month

  • 7mo, and she is constantly moving! She is on the floor pretty well all day unless she's eating or sleeping, so I guess that's how she occupies herself. She wiggles/army crawls and rolls across a room pretty quickly, gets into my 3yo's play kitchen and empties the cupboards, is fascinated with any box/basket, and spends a lot of time on her area rug rocking on her knees. One tooth poking through, but not up yet. And she nurses before and after sleeping, every 1-3 hours in the day (along with BLW) and twice over 12h at night.

  • It's tough not to compare. My first was army crawling just before 7 months and sitting on her own. They both got 2 bottom teeth at 6 months. But lo only sits for a few minutes, then tips over. He's getting up on his hands and knees, bounces or rocks, but then falls to his tummy. He rolls or pushes back to get around. He'll be 7 months tomorrow.
Even though I compare the two, my daughter army crawled for almost a month before crawling on hands/knees. This guy is already up on his knees. And it took him longer to roll than his sister.
So they're all different. We're working on a new schedule with eating. Have you started solids?
  • Try not to compare, babies go at their own pace! My 7 month old can sit up really well, but has only rolled a handful of times and isn't even close to crawling. Still no teeth and nursing every 2/3 hours. I figure that it'll all happen eventually. The pace that they go at is not a sign of good or bad parenting or intelligence, even though I sometimes feel that way.
  • My girl is 7 months old today! Ah! But, she just started teething, I think they're getting ready to poke out? She almost can sit by herself and She eats every 2 hours! Don't worry, he'll get there!

Maybe he will be a very laid back dude!
  • My 7 month old got both of his bottom teeth about 3 weeks ago. I wouldn't worry about that though, my best friends son is exactly 3 months older than mine and at 10 months he doesn't have any teeth yet. Mine is crawling now and it's honestly a nightmare. I hate to say that but he's so curious about everything he goes straight for the things he doesn't need to be in! Enjoy the peace for now and do not worry! Your baby isn't lazy, they just do things in their own time. And whatever time that is is totally fine.

  • Every baby does things at his/her own pace! LO started rolling at 3 weeks (not a fluke--he did it 4 times in a row at 3 weeks) but he is just starting to sit up unaided and he cannot crawl. He pushes up with his arm and tries to use his head to direct himself forward but clearly that doesn't work so he just rolls over. He's been teething for weeks (and drooling like crazy!) but still no teeth poking through...

Babies will do things before your LO and babies will be behind him. I'm sure he is perfect and he'll show you some of these new skills soon!
  • Ds2 is able to sit, is constantly rolling, and army crawling. He is able to get into a regular crawling stance however can't get all the limbs to work at the same time lol.  He is also climbing up on things as well.  He has 2 teeth, and is working on 4 more (2 on the bottom, 2 on top).

DS1 was able sit at this point but a lot more similar to yours (not much interest in rolling and the like).  But both love (d) playing and getting into everything.
