Re: PGAL Check-in 4/11

  • Weeks: 20w1d

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): So happy to be past the halfway point!  Midwife appointment on Thursday.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Yesterday was the EDD for the baby we lost.  I made it most of the day without tears, but had a bad headache in the evening that broke me down.  Only one friend remembered and sent me a thoughtful message.  But, we couldn't have that baby and this one, so I am thankful that we so far have one healthy baby and FX for a good outcome.  Positive vibes to all.

I've been having some bad pelvic pain (SPD).  I had it with my DD too, but it totally sucks!

    Questions?

GTKY: I am mostly a purger.  Hate clutter, not especially sentimental.

  • @Fremdschamen I feel for you, our edd is coming up (May 1st) and the closer it gets, the more I think about it. We're planning to do a little something that day but I'm so glad it's a Sunday so I can just be home with my dh. *hugs*

    Weeks: 23w2d

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): viability point is Saturday, and next appointment is May 5th.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Positive Vibes to everyone, I'm so glad the weather will start getting nice enough to get outside more as it really improves my mood. Working on the nursery this upcoming weekend (we built the crib this pas weekend!). It helps to have something positive to work on as we get closer to our edd of our baby we lost.

Questions? What did you do/will you do (if anything) on your edd of your baby you lost? I want to do something special but not sure exactly what...

GTKY: I go back and forth between a little pack-ratty and then purge. Depends on my mood!

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):
    Monthly OB appointment on Thursday.

    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Feeling tired and having heartburn lately but so excited to be feeling lots of movement that is definitely a baby!

GTKY: What's your approach to clutter?  Pack-rat or purger?
I mostly hang on to stuff and then occasionally go through and sort through it and throw things out. I hang on to way too many clothes and magazines though. I'm thinking the baby is going to force some purging very soon since I need the space.

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):  I have my monthly appointment on Wed and I love hearing her heartbeat.  I am looking forward viability and it doesn't feel that far away anymore.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:  Sending positive vibes to everyone.  I have started (and just started) to think about the nursery.

    Questions?

GTKY: What's your approach to clutter?  Pack-rat or purger? Definitely a purger! I love love to get rid of things.  It feels so good.
  • @Fremdschamen I'm sorry about reaching your EDD from your previous pregnancy. I know how hard that is! I was sad in February when I passed mine. I, like you, am so happy for this pregnancy because it wouldn't have happened if I hadn't lost the first. But it's still sad thinking of the life that could have been.

@lgem4 I'm so glad you're now able to pass your loss milestone and your checkup went well! I know what a relief it is getting past that point.

    Weeks: 22

What's next? Appointment at 24 weeks. Just a checkup but I get to hear the heartbeat.

Rants/Raves/Positivd Vibes: My parents are coming this weekend to help DH and I put shelving in the baby's closet and in our downstairs storage closet as well as help us set up the nursery furniture. We've had to do a lot of work getting to this point because we live in a two bedroom townhome and the baby will be sharing a room with the guest room. So space is limited. But I'm really looking forward to getting everything set up. It'll make it feel that much more real!

    Questions? Nope

GTKY: I'm naturally a pack rat because my parents were and so were my grandparents. But over the past two years I've been working on that and have become a purger. I'm so uncomfortable with clutter and we live in a small townhome. So we've began getting rid of a lot of stuff. Especially now that we need room for the baby.
  • @lgem4 Thinking of you today.  So glad everything is looking good so far.

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): 24 week appointment is fast approaching! A week from tomorrow!

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Pregnancy-wise, I'm feeling pretty good. I started thinking about the one we lost this morning, and how I felt bad because I couldn't even remember what my due date would've been. I'm glad that I've moved forward and that DH and I are bringing this baby into the world in August, but I also feel...I don't know, guilty? Because we were unable to bring that one into the world. I know it wasn't our fault, but you know...

    Questions?

GTKY: What's your approach to clutter?  Pack-rat or purger?
Oh I'm definitely a purger. I get rid of everything.  Kids toys that haven't been played with in a month? Donating them. Clothes I never wear? Bye-bye! Papers I could get copies of if I ever need them? Consider yourself recycled! I like keeping things to the bare minimum if I can.

  • @lgem4 I'm so glad you got good news! I've been thinking about you a lot.  <3

    Weeks: 22w1d

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): Monthly appointment 2 weeks from today. I'm so glad! I had to see the nurse practitioner last month, my doctor always calms my fears.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I had a really rough time waiting for 22 weeks. PGAL brain has been running wild! Plus, a friend's sister, who was 2 weeks ahead of me, got bad news at her AS and they ended the pregnancy. Ever since I heard, I've been paraniod and constantly thinking I'd go into labor before viability. It's irrational, I know, but after a loss, you can't look at pregnancy the same.

    Questions?

GTKY: What's your approach to clutter?  Pack-rat or purger? I tend to try and find a place for everything. I worry I'll need it someday. When I can't find a place for it, get overwhelmed, or annoyed I purge!
  • @ashleybaker712 Sorry you're having a rough time.  If I heard news like that, I'd have a really hard time with it too.

  • @lgem4 - hugs! I'm glad things are going well.

@ashleybaker712 that's so hard. I have a friend who got bad news at her a/s too, and while they continued the pregnancy, they have had an uphill battle with their little guy. It's stuff like that that makes me stabby when people call it a gender ultrasound.

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):
Had our a/s last week and everything looked great! Next appt is May 6. Will do the GD test at that appointment too.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Feeling baby a lot, which is great for PGAL brain. Haven't used my Doppler in about a week. :)

Questions? Is anyone here a part of the FB group(s)? I have been reluctant to join thus far. Curious if others have taken the plunge. I'm part of a FB spinoff from DS's BMB and can honestly say I count those women among my closest friends today. But it's a very small group and frankly, I think this board could use a little further weeding out first. ;)

GTKY: What's your approach to clutter?  Pack-rat or purger?
More purger, but I purge in spurts when the clutter starts to bother me.

  • @liljabee I've been having heartburn a lot and some nauseousness that is usually with the heartburn
  • 100% agree re: Facebook group!  I'm in one from DD's BMB that formed late in 3rd tri, and those women are some of my closest friends.  Let me know when you are taking the plunge!  I'd rather be in a group of regulars from Aug 16, not a group that formed in the first few weeks.

  • About the Facebook group: I would like to join one as well but don't recognize any of the women joining the current one. Keep me updated too!
  • Weeks:  22

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):  glucose test at 25 weeks ugh but at least that also means viability!  I also gained 10lbs so thats not fun

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:  Back pains started this week.  Boo.

Questions?  Zika sucks.  I need to go and get some more Deet Off woods stuff because the natural stuff isn't cutting it in our yard.

GTKY: What's your approach to clutter?  Pack-rat or purger?  More pack rat for sure but I am trying to do better about purging.

  • @ThisisNumber3 10 pounds total?  Or in the past 4 weeks?  And boo to Zika!  It is super scary.

In the past six weeks. :(

  • @ThisisNumber3 I'm sure it's different for everyone, but I've gained 18 pounds since my BFP and my OB is really happy with the weight gain.
  • Thank you for the responses. Nice to know it isn't just me.
  • @ThisisNumber3 I think that's ok!  I gained 9 pounds in a week one time when I was pregnant with DD, lol.  It will even out in the end.  I've gained more over the past 4 weeks than previously-- I think our babies are starting to store fat at this stage.

  • @liljabee  My doctor said yesterday that heartburn can have weird symptoms----sometimes it can make you feel nauseous or be just a bad taste in your mouth. Maybe try some tums and see if that helps with the nausea?
