*** Thursday TWINS Check-In 4/14 ***

How many weeks are you?

Rants/Raves/Symptoms?

How far of a drive is your hospital from your home (or work)?

Any comments you're getting from people these days (good or bad)?

    How many weeks are you?

    33 weeks + 1 day

    Rants/Raves/Symptoms?

I'm huge/happy that babies will be here soon (may 2nd! 20 days!!)/not sure if it's contractions but feeling a lot of pressure occasionally around my butt:/

How far of a drive is your hospital from your home (or work)?

About 20 mins. Takes another 10 mins to park though. It's crazy... They have "valet" guys who will park your car in the middle of the aisle cuz there are not enough spots.. And if you're blocked in by a car you have to get one of the guys to move the car blocking you. This is at the top of the parking garage too (level 10). Are any other hospitals like this???

OH! and every time I go, one of the elevators are broken! So you have to walk to the other end of the parking garage. Then I found out that elevator only stops at the 8th floor, and I had to walk around looking for a way to get to the 10th floor. I swear I'll go into labour in the parking garage one day

Any comments you're getting from people these days (good or bad)?

It's funny seeing ppl's reactions when they ask my due date and I tell them June 1st. Then I have to explain to them that I'm having twins and since they share a placenta they have to be out by 36 weeks.

    Here's a pic for reference

Rants/Raves/Symptoms?  I actually feel better/more energetic this week than the last few.  People say that means the time is near!  ?  I can't wait for my knees to not hurt every time I have to get up from being on the floor.  It's kind of crazy how I literally wake up every 2 hours to pee and am just imagining them wanting to eat that often at first.  That's going to be rough if I only BF!

How far of a drive is your hospital from your home (or work)?  Really close.  5-10 minutes - city streets.

Any comments you're getting from people these days (good or bad)?  People are definitely looking at me everywhere I go (strangers).  Everyone asks 'how much longer' or 'you're about ready to pop' or 'you must not have much longer'.  When I tell them it's twins some say: 'you're so tiny for twins!' OR 'no wonder you're so big'......so, the full spectrum.  My MIL has started calling a lot (as she did when I was pg w/my first two) - always wanting details from my Dr's appts (which is fine).  She's just so surprised they aren't coming 'early'.  It's hard to know what to expect, but all her preemie clothes and diapers will have to be exchanged most likely!

  • @Khochanadel - congrats on your twin girls!!

@pia_colada - Super cute pic!  Man, your hospital parking sounds like a major pain.  Mine has valet at the street level and usually it's pretty fast and handy (I use it once a week for my sonograms/NST's there).  I feel like there's so much competition between hospitals in Kansas City to get people to have their babies there that they all really cater to pregnant women.  :)

  • How many weeks are you? I was pregnant for 47 minutes today. 32w5d

Rants/Raves/Symptoms? I actually feel really great for just pushing two humans out of my vagina.

How far of a drive is your hospital from your home (or work)? The hospital we ended up delivering at (because it has a 32 week + NICU) is about 25 minutes, but Austin traffic is awful. Luckily none of our "go time" trips have been during peak traffic hours. The hospital we intended to deliver at (if I'd made it past 34 weeks) is just 2 miles from home, but best laid plans, amirite? At least since I made it past 32 we got to deliver at a hospital with a lot of the same philosophies and the same group of doctors.

Any comments you're getting from people these days (good or bad)? Didn't get a lot of stranger comments while on bed rest. That part was kind of nice. Now people are just assuring me that nothing I did made these twins come early and that I did everything in my power to get them here as healthy as possible.

And they are! For being so tiny, they are breathing on their own and all other stats look good. Hopefully the NICU will only be their home for a short time.

So excited to see the rest of your twins hanging in there and going the distance! Keep it up, mamas!

Omg that's an adorable answer, congratulations! So glad they're doing well with their breathing!!
  • Congrats!! So awesome

Rants/Raves/Symptoms? Had the worst hip (and down my leg) pain late last week. Way beyond my pelvic symphosis thing and ten times worse than sciatic. Seriously second worse pain, after actual labor, of my life. It stopped just before I gave in and was gonna go to the hospital. Talked to the Dr yesterday and they think it was Alice flipping over to head down, she's been breech at every ultrasound. She must have had to shove Sam hard into some nerves to flip over.

Apparently his head is as far down as it can go without coming out, never felt the "drop" thing, but I didn't with my first either.

How far of a drive is your hospital from your home (or work)?10-15 minutes tops, we live in a medium sized town in Wisconsin so there isn't really traffic or anything

Any comments you're getting from people these days (good or bad)?only a few asking if I was due soon, people in WI are pretty polite

The hospital surprised us with 3D ultrasound yesterday! Only Sam cooperated but still it was amazing and I cried
