Re: No Symptoms Check-in 4/11

  • Progress: 8+1

I have back pain, particularly at the tailbone. I can get very tired some nights, but other nights have no problem staying up past midnight. I've noticed that I have some aversion to food, particularly if I eat out- I want none of it. I thought last week, I was developing nausea, but it really only comes right after I take my Synthroid in the am. Sometimes, I get slightly gaggy in the bathroom, but that's really it.

Does anyone else ever feel extremely jealous of other November moms that have a ton of symptoms? I hung out with a friend who is due a week before me who was getting nauseous all weekend. I know it's counter intuitive, but after a loss last November, I would do anything to feel nauseous all the time! The days between ultrasounds go by so slowly!!

Anything??: Occasional mild waves of nausea. I have a general "feeling like crap" feeling but nothing I can pinpoint. I just want to stay in bed all day. Mostly feeling fine- some days I could swear I wasn't pregnant. In the past 2 days I can kinda feel my uterus more. Like, I just know it's there and something is going on... It's a weird feeling.

R/R/Q: signed up for NIPT testing on the 25th... Cannot wait to find out if this little turkey is a boy or girl. I think maybe it might feel more real at that point!

  • Progress - 10+3

Symptoms - I'm exhausted 110% of the time. My general queasiness has diminished, still has yet to actually be nauseous. Some mild food desires, and some mild emotional crap, but nothing significant. No more boob aches. My pants don't fit anymore, the bloat is unbelievable. Also, horny as a teenager - but the hubby ain't complaining. Aha. (if that qualifies as a "symptom")

R/R/Q - finally got to tell my parents last week. Sounds like I have the same (or lack there of) symptoms as mom did when having me. I want the tiredness to be over. Ad McDonald's has done away with the CBO...I actually cried a tear at the counter when the lady told me. She was so confused until hubby said I as el prego

  • Progress: 7w1d

Anything??: All my symptoms seem to be boob related. They have been sore for about three weeks, they are super full and I am starting to get the blue veins. This morning my Montgomery glands were pretty different looking. Also, I have had super mild cramping and generally laziness, but nothing epic.

R/R/Q: I am just looking forward to being able to have an ultrasound so I can know this is real. Still have 2 and a half weeks to wait!!!!!! UGH!
  • Progress: 7w3d

Anything??: I was feeling like things were getting going, but they seem to have fallen off. This, of course, terrifies me. Still exhausted, still slightly sore boobs, but the tiny bit of nausea that I had seems to have gone away. @chloe97 I am not jealous that others are experiencing tough symptoms, but I am jealous that they get to "feel" pregnant, if that makes sense? I'm also on the late end of the board, so I constantly feel like I'm lagging behind.

R/R/Q: First ultrasound on Friday. Very nervous, especially given how I've been feeling. Feeling slight relief that after it's over I'll know one way or another!
  • Progress:  6+5

Anything??  Side boobage is super ouchy. I think overall the girls are a bit swollen.  DH assessed them yesterday.  He was kind and only cupped them gently, though later in the day he was threatening poking them and hugging me super tight to make me squeal.   I fell asleep before 9 Friday & Saturday night, but was totally awake at 10:30 last night.  I wouldn't say that I am overly fatigued.  Other than gas/bloat which escalates as the day progresses, I don't have any GI symptoms.

R/R/Q:  I have another US Friday.  This week is going to feel super long.  DH is away Wed-Thurs & my work from home schedule is switched around because of some meetings requiring me to be in the office on days I wouldn't normally be.   **TW Previous Losses Mentioned*** I have never gotten passed week 6.  Despite seeing heartbeats both times things stopped developing late week 5/early week 6.  I am really anxious for my 7+1 US.  FX third time is the charm.

Anything??  I definitely have food aversions but I'm never sure what they're going to be until I come across them.  Walked past a salad bar yesterday and almost threw up everywhere.  My cheesy potatoes that I have always made as comfort food turned my stomach last week as well.  Couldn't even stand the smell of them and they've always been one of my favorites.

R/R/Q:  Won't have another ultrasound until May 5th and that seems like forever away.  Given the fact that we haven't heard a heart beat or seen the baby yet and now we have to wait until I'm 11 weeks along...makes me feel like I'm missing out on something because none of this will really feel real until those milestones.

  • Ugh, my symptoms have literally disappeared. Not even sore boobs which I've had every day since like 7dpo. Not even when doing burpees at the gym today. I am trying hard not to panic as I have no signs of a problem, but I can't help thinking this can't be a good sign. I have my first ultrasound on Friday at 8 weeks and was doing well waiting but now have moved onto crazy person mode. I wish I had something to give me reassurance. This is hard.

@kmmnocal My symptoms disappeared at 5+1. I originally had bigger, sore boobs and slight nausea. Then boobs literally shrank to their smallest in like 7 years. I went in at 6+2 for an ultrasound expecting the worst and there was a strong heartbeat! Had another strong HB a week later! Around 7+4, I got a bit of nausea back and started noticing food aversions. Today at 8+3, I'm noticing my boobs could be growing again.

This is all to say symptoms come and go constantly. Of course I still freak out all the time, but try to hang in there. Good luck!

  • Progress: 7w6d

Anything??:The few symptoms I'd had seem to have gone away. My boobs are no longer sore, which is what I"m most concerned about. Even though I know that neither my sister or mom had many symptoms, my missed mc last December just makes me worry more.

R/R/Q:I don't have my first u/s and appt until next Thursday - so I have 9 more days to worry.

I have to say though, this board has helped reassure me some, seeing I'm not the only one who is pretty much feeling not pregnant at all. I am so grateful that @HeyBooHeydecided to start a no symptom board!
  • @MrsBinPA DH is my boob assessor too! He is always willing to do some cupping to let me know if they are bigger/heavier/etc. ;-) Also -  FX for happy baby visions at your u/s Friday!!
  • Progress: 10w2d

Anything??: constantly tired, I'm talking BEAT by the end of the day. Body hair is growing at an alarming rate (wtf), boobs are getting bigger by the minute

R/R/Q: the body hair! omg I have to shave practically daily now instead of once a week / have still experienced zero MS/nausea/vomiting / I don't know whether to do the genetic screening ultrasound (to check for Down Syndrome and Trisomy 21/18. Anyone else electing to do it or choosing not to, why or why not?

  • Progress: 11+2

Anything??: I'm really stretching for "symptoms" these days. Last night, I didn't feel like chicken which is obviously because I'm pregnant.

R/R/Q: Just wondering how much my pants can stretch. They are getting a workout these days. After eating small portions or drinking, I am so uncomfortably full. Add in the sexy post-meal bloat and I'm feeling REALLY good about myself.
  • @therealvday - we're choosing not to do any genetic screening. We will be keeping baby no matter what s/he comes out with, so we don't feel like we need to know ahead of time.
  • @lajoliedreamer I am so glad this thread has helped you so much!

Anyone else feel like terrible symptom spotters? I feel like the symptoms I do have are pretty weak and I really have to go looking for them. Minus the boob stuff.

@hfab14 I know what you mean about getting really full. I eat a normal sized meal and every once and a while I get so full and stay feeling uncomfortably full for HOURS. It doesn't happen every time though. I guess that is that slower digestion?

  • Progress: moved to 9+3 cause I o'ed late and my very cool doc decided to go with the o date.

    Anything??: NADA!

R/R/Q: so yesterday was my first appointment. Tried to listen with the Doppler and got nothing.  He pulls out US machine and nothing. Finally found the little beast swimming around way low. I was pretty worried for a few minutes thinking oh my god I imagined this whole pregnancy. Then we saw baby and all was well with the world.

@therealvday we are genetic testing for many reasons. Some of our reasoning maybe unpopular opinion but I am not here to impress anyone.  This is our only chance for a baby before DH is supposed to deploy again. If the baby had a condition not conducive to life we don't have much time to start over. My brother found out his baby wouldn't live outside the womb. They decided to ride out the pregnancy and had a still born at 37 weeks. Then the following year had another one. We don't have time like that. We already have a special needs child. We aren't afraid of special needs, we are afraid of quality of life and will make our choice with as much information we can gather. Knowledge is power and if you can have specialist and teams ready to go it can save your child's life. So many reasons to know what you may be up against.

^^^This. I am over 35, so I will get it based on that. But I also want to be as prepared as possible. I am a researcher so I would want to be as educated as possible on all issues we might face. I would also want all the necessary medical support standing by when I delivered.
  • @HeyBooHey I'm a researcher too. I want to know what we are dealing with. Is there a specialist nearby? Do we need to fly somewhere with baby? Should we plan on family staying? Are we talking around the clock care? We have a special needs kid, another kid and animals. We can't just pick up and be at the hospital for 2 months.  I want plan A,B and C ready to go to give my baby the best chance even in the face of adversity.
  • @chloe97 - thank you!

I did just talk to my sister (finally. I really wanted to keep a secret) and with all three of her pregnancies she had zero nausea and barely any symptoms. She has three healthy and active girls. I am glad I asked and will pretend that symptoms are 100% hereditary.

My mom was the same way!

anything??: only back pain, frequent trips to the potty, & tired (but I've always been tired before BFP because I wake up @4:45am for work)

R/R/Q: I don't have my first appointment and ultrasound til 10w6d. The wait is killing me plus constant worrying due to no symptoms the whole time.
  • My most prominent symptom, sore boobs, seems to have diminished significantly basically overnight.  I now have horrible anxiety!

  • @MrsBinPA This happened to me Sunday into Monday at 7w2d. H tried to snuggle up with me in bed this morning and OW, they are back. Hang tight, I understand!
  • Is anyone else who's already had a scan (or two), still having trouble believing you're actually growing a baby in your body? I walk around all day saying "I can't believe there's actually a baby in there." And I've already seen it on u/s... I don't know why I'm having trouble wrapping my mind around this.

I don't really qualify as "no symptoms" anymore... I've been getting infections and mega food aversions. But the "traditional" or common symptoms haven't been very strong or consistent at all for me, so maybe that's why it's been difficult... I don't know.

    Anyone else? Just me?

@MissAmeliaPond You are not alone!!! I'm the exact same way. Though if I'm being honest, I am more tired than usual, but not all the time and I certainly don't have the crippling fatigue other women talk about. I do have back pain and slight cramping that remind me there is a baby in there, but the days between ultrasounds go slowly!

Eta Oh yeah and the aversions definitely come and go. But no real cravings yet.
  • @chloe97 I'm glad it's not just me! I swear I've been getting RLPs already if I stand up too fast, or somehow get up from my chair from a weird angle, so that reminds me something weird is going on. But when I'm just walking around going about my life I always feel like "is this real? am I really pregnant?". I'm having a hard time associating the word "pregnant" with myself... I think PGAL brain isn't helping...  :/

  • @MissAmeliaPond & @Chloe97 I feel the same way too.   I said out loud to my BFF yesterday, "If everything goes well at my appointment on Friday, and I continue to feel as good as I do, I am going to start to feel really guilty."  I always thought that pregnancy meant feeling miserable.  So far I feel like my regular self only with:

    1) Boobs that were really sore & now are only a bit sore but are bigger ;)
    2) Can smell ALL the smells (but none make me sick)
    3) Sometimes fall asleep really early.
    4) Pee more
    5) Have vivid dreams almost every night
    6) Have a really hard time falling back to sleep if I wake up, where I normally would go RIGHT back to sleep (say if I had to take a puppy out in the middle of the night).

Today I have horrible heartburn/indigestion despite eating the same thing for breakfast I had the last 2 days.  This is the first stomach GI complaint I have had and I am now 7 weeks!

I so, so, so hope that my appointment is good tomorrow.  If it is I might start to freak out less.  Thank you ladies again for being so supportive!  I was feeling woe is me PGAL brain yesterday.

  • @Mrsbinpa I'm so happy you are feeling more pregnant today! Fx for a great appt tomorrow!!

I'm sure I've mentioned this before but my sore boobs disappeared at 5+1 triggering the low Hcg scare. Not only did they stop hurting, they shrunk. Holy shit they literally just started throbbing again about 20 minutes ago. Ow!

These new symptoms help my PGAL so much!

I have not had a scan yet (I'm tomorrow, too!) and I'm having trouble believing. I'm feeling things for sure, but they are SO mild. It's some solace to know I'll know what's going on one way or another tomorrow and can take the next step. I have no reason to believe anything is wrong so trying to focus on that!

ETA: @MrsBinPA you sound exactly like me! My sister had this trajectory too, with all 3 of her healthy kids. I'm looking forward to tomorrow when I can feel guilty too!
  • I can't believe I'm pregnant either. Since I was measuring so far behind I think I am just trying to protect myself until my next u/s in 20 long days to make sure baby is still growing in there. SO told his mom today though and neither she nor my mom had ms, so hopefully I just got lucky. Literally my only symptom that couldn't be attributed to something else (like constipation and bloating = celiacs and tired = working 6 days a week since January) are that food just doesn't taste good to me anymore. I need to force myself to eat enough as my favorite meals just taste eh now. I don't have a sense of smell so nothing there, and I have stopped having weird dreams and having to pee a lot.

Pgal brain really takes all the fun out of this.
  • @MrsBinPA I am with you for all 1-6! That is exactly how I feel! Every single one.
I can smell all the smells, but it is in the best way! I can smell a fresh orange at the grocery store or a flower when I am on a walk. I crave the smell of peppermint. Everything smells so good!
I have to wait two more weeks until my first appointment and I legit am afraid they are going to be like...um, you aren't pregnant. Luckily my husband is convinced I am because he can see the change to my boobs. When he noticed that, he started to realize it was really real. He helps keep me sane.
I feel guilty for how good I feel, but I think I feel better than before because I don't have the terrible hormone shifts of my regular cycle with headaches, cramps, all the normal monthly things.

My SO keeps commenting on my boobs being bigger (although barely). It's pretty much the only thing I have to keep checking. I just keep thinking before I was pregnant when I was cold they'd shrink, and now they don't. It's so strange but it's what's keeping me sane too.
  • You guys! I have a new symptom! The constant need to pee has begun.
  • Looks like I'll be joining you guys now. I have almost zero symptoms as of 2 weeks ago. Still bloated and tired but that's it!
