Pregnant after a Loss

My nerves are shot

A little history...

I had 2 miscarriages last year. I decided to take some time off, do some things for me and tried again in February. We had our IUI on March 4th and found out we were pregnant on March 21st. The blood work was fine 508 hcg and 47 progesterone. Because of previous miscarriages, I was offered the option of being put on progesterone and I filled that prescription that day. We went back one week later and the hcg was 5000 and progesterone was still over 40. Then all hell broke loose. On April 2nd, my 6th week, I woke up with the severe cramping and some spotting. Immediately went to the Emergency department and was told that it was a threatened miscarriage as they couldn't find a gestational sac in my uterus. My hcg came back at 4200. I was devastated. I went home fully intending to lose the baby. My doctor wanted to see me on Monday so I went in that morning and was told by my doctor that the gestational sac was were it should be .... right there in my uterus. He drew more blood just to be certain of how things are progressing. He also stated that my corpus luteum was enlarged as it should be.

On April 5th, I went to work and had to leave because I had severe pain on my right side. I sincerely thought they missed an ectopic pregnancy and my fallopian tube had ruptured. I was rushed to the emergency department where I was told there was a gestational sac in my uterus and my hcg was 6300 and it was still probably too soon to see anything. What??? I called my doctor the next day and learned that on Monday my hcg was 8200 and my progesterone had fell to 27. I have an appointment this afternoon to see if they can see anything.

Because of all the "movement" I'm extremely nervous about today's appointment. I feel like everything will be okay but I've been disappointed twice before. I still have pregnancy symptoms: sore boobs, nauseous, tired and hungrier than usual. Any words of encouragement or just good vibes are greatly appreciated.

  • ****UPDATE***

When to doctor and he said the baby is measuring a week behind but that could be due to the egg implanting later than expected. This changed my due date to December 5th. Still too soon to see or hear a heartbeat. I have an appointment next week to check progress. I felt good about it today. I feel like I can relax...if just for a moment.

  • My fingers are crossed for you!  I also just want to point out that HCG can vary if you don't always get it checked at the same lab so maybe that's why your levels are fluctuating so much?
  • Stay positive and enjoy the good moments....prayers for a healthy pregnancy and baby
  • @penelope4612 that is a great point! I thought that may be what was going on.

    Thank you @mommymrina
