Re: TW Tuesday 4-12

  • MY DOG!!

I'm a weirdo and have kept my FRER that showed I'm pregnant for sure, and it is sitting on the window sill next to the potty. I keep it to hug it still... no judging.

But my dog grabbed it off the window sill (and left the other dark dark ones) and chewed it all up! I can still read the screen, so I put the pink cap back on and set it among its friends again....

Yea I'm the TW for keeping 24 pregnancy tests in order and for putting my treasured test in the same spot where the beast could steal it again. :(

  • @Sugargirl1019 I have 2-3 $store tests just so I can keep seeing that line every couple days.

My TW is myself. I just have absolutely no drive this week. My principal just walked in for the 2nd time today, first time I was up and working with the kids, this last one . . . . sitting on my computer reading threads on TB.

My excuse is I am tired, we had spring break, then 2 snow days last week, and Thursday is all day PTC the Friday is an inservice day. So another short week.

  • And my blood sugar /insulin pump! I was beautiful numbers all evening  and I go to sleep. Apparently I dropped, and my pump does "threshold suspend" and turns my basal rate insulin off when I drop below 60. Only problem is I had insulin for pizza going in over 6 1/2 hours... so apparently it not only turns the basal rates off, but also cancels the food insulin in progress as well. I woke up at 3 am with my blood sugar at 336, with ketones. I'm crying and so worried that I've killed my baby. I can't put up with these accidents that happen while I'm sleeping. I wake up 3 times to check every night and it's still not enough to prevent these crazy things from happening. How much more sleep do I need to lose?

Please let my baby not share blood with me yet. Please please please. Thanks for letting me vent.

  • @Sugargirl1019 From what little I could find, most recommend that you check your levels 6-8 during the day, and 3-5 at night.

I couldn't find anything about when you start to share blood with baby.

I don't have any drive either. My coworkers are talking to me and I am just spacing out. Today I've been trying to listen to my headphones so I can get some substantive work done but I am my own worst enemy and keep getting distracted!! 90 minutes till I go home - I will try to force myself to take a nap!

MY TW is my mother. I am taking her to Scotland for her 60th birthday and we were originally supposed to go in September. I asked her if we could switch to June since it would be so much more comfortable then. She was like, no that doesn't work for me, because what would I do with your brother? (Who will be 18!!) Her DH talked her into it but I'm like geez I have to beg my mom to hang out with me even when paying for it! She is not excited about this pregnancy at all.

My favorite person in the world is my 17 year old brother who overheard my mom telling her husband about all of this, and therefore found out way too early he sent me a text message " :'( :'( :'( <3<3:*:*:* I'm so happy!!!!!!!!" He is such a dear boy!

  • My doctor. I was so excited for my first appointment, but got a call that she had someone go into labor, so I have to call 30 minutes before and see if I can still have it.

My real annoyance though is that I have to use sick time for this, so if I don't get in today, I've wasted 4 hours and have to take another 4 tomorrow.
  • My job. I know I need to be thankful for it but I just don't want to work today. I'm super annoyed by my coworkers right now to boot. I need to start being mean to people so they'll learn to think for themselves versus run to me for every little thing.

I have a second one. Teacher salaries in Idaho.

I have a full time job as a teacher, including benefits. I use my Bachelor's degree for it, yet my family qualifies for food stamps, health insurance assistance, and child care help. What does that tell you about how valued teachers are in Idaho.

ETA: We only use WIC, for help with L's formula, but just the fact that we qualify blows my mind.

@Kate08Young - that's freaking ridiculous and nationwide. If were going to make one change - I think it should be to pay teachers an appropriate salary.

  • Can I say me? I am so tired and I have some icky sore throat. I am being a mega bitch and I'm even annoying myself with my attitude. I'm hiding in my office to avoid the world.
  • Teacher salaries kill me too. I have a masters degree, and my husband with no college degrees makes more than double what I do.
  • Me. I'm telling myself that dinner is only an hour away and I really don't need to eat an ice-cream bar beforehand!

  • @Kate08Young - teachers salaries are shameful across this country.  You guys get paid peanuts for teaching the next generations, deal with so much administrative bullshit and have a high burnout factor.  Plus most teachers put their own money into their rooms!   My best friend has her bachelors and masters, numerous extra credentials which are supposed to make her pay higher and has decided to be a stay at home mom because she'll only make a few hundred dollars a paycheck after paying for daycare.

When end you look at the big picture of how much is paid in property tax whether or not people have children in public schools, plus the federal and state grant money, it makes little sense to me why there isn't more money for teachers.

  • Ditto the teacher salary. DH is a teacher and I am going back to school this year. We have to move in with my parents for the year because we cannot support ourselves on his salary and we are very frugal. The up side though, is retirement!

My TW is my mother. We are very close and she is outright pissed that I'm pregnant. Everyone was thrilled for baby number 1, why is #3 so terrible? I see her point that Its bad timing with school, but it was a surprise baby. Since it IS happening, can't she just be supportive?

Today's TW is the little coffee shop that sold me an unexpired hummus cup! I didn't want to have crackers and peanut butter again for a snack...
  • I will agree with teacher salary. DH and I are not able to get anything this week because we are so broke. As a teach with my master's degree,  I should not be this broke.
