Blocked Tear Duct Procedure Questions

Hi. Was wondering if anyone has experience with the blocked tear duct procedure? My LO is scheduled for it this Friday and I'm worried. She is not going under anesthesia - my doc does it in his office with a local anesthetic which I'm happy about but wondering what the recovery is like? Will she experience pain in the days after? Not sure I want to go through with it since she's only 5.5 months so asking to hear any advice/experiences!

Have you treated it? Or does your pedi want to operate right away? This article is interesting and talks about ways of treating it. I would always avoid intrusive procedures if possible.

My child's pedi won't operate until 12 months and said most resolve by then without treatment.

My daughter had the same problem and hers went away a few months after she turned one. Our pedi also wouldn't operate before age 1, and my daughters was really bad. I would get a second opinion.

Our pedi also wouldn't do it until LO was one year old. Try breastmilk and massage. There are also a few antibiotic ointments available.
