Re: Monday Ticker Change - April 11th

  • Week: 10!

What's new with baby (size, development): It's starting to look like a baby now!

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Nothing, but I'm anticipating telling people in 2 weeks. The countdown is finally starting to not feel like an eternity.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I *might* have more than just a blump now. I have a little bump when I wake up in the morning before I eat anything, so it seems like a real one.

When is your next appointment: On Thursday for another US. Last US was 7w4d. PGAL brain: I'm terrified every time I go. I can be doing perfectly well waiting until it gets close to the appointment, and then I'm convinced that something will be wrong. Ugh.

GTKY: Tell me about your happiest childhood memory.  One of them is that we would go to these cabins at the beach every year that were super affordable, had outdoor showers, no TV. It was truly rustic and simple, and we would play on the screened in porch and walk to the beach. Those cabins are still there, still cheap, and I just went last year with my husband and family. I hope they stick around for another 20+ years so I can take my kids.

  • Week: 10!!

What's new with baby (size, development):  Per TB:
    • Baby has working arm joints, and cartilage and bones are forming.
    • Baby's vital organs are fully developed and they're starting to function.
    • Baby's fingernails and hair are starting to appear too.
    • Plus, baby's swallowing and kicking in there. (Can you believe it?!)

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Still nothing.  Reallllly need to get started clearing out and cleaning the nursery.  I've been saying that for weeks though.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions:  I'm really hoping my symptoms start to dissipate.  My boobs don't seem to be quite as painful and I think I'm starting to get my energy back.

When is your next appointment: 4/27 at 12w2d. It's my first appt with my OB since I've graduated from the RE :)

GTKY: Tell me about your happiest childhood memory. I think just playing outside in the summer with my sister.  Summers were the best.

  • Going to my first doctors appointment in 2 hours. Fx for a heartbeat!!! I'll update this afternoon.

  • Week:
10! We're at the quarter mark.

What's new with baby (size, development): Many cute things. Definitely baby-like now.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Not much, really. Our oldest knows now and he has so many questions and he is so excited. He asks me every day how big the baby is and if I can feel it yet. He's really excited to be part of telling his sister in a few more weeks.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: The exhaustion is finally starting to lift! It was around 10w with my other kids too. I'm starting to feel human again.

When is your next appointment: Don't have one. My OB won't see me until after 22w (I'll be away from 21w-25w so we'll see how this goes!) and I'm not 100% sure if it's my RE or my family doctor who is following my pregnancy. My RE has filled out the reqs for all my prenatal testing and I'll see him for the reports so I suppose it's him but he doesn't really do 'typical' prenatal appointments (BP, check for bacteriuria, etc.) I've been followed by one care provider for both my other term pregnancies so switching halfway through is new to me.

GTKY: Tell me about your happiest childhood memory. I was laying on the waterbed in the guest room at the farmhouse my grandfather built when we were home one summer. I hadn't even unpacked yet; we'd just arrived and I wanted to revel in being where I belonged. It was sunny there was just the slightest breeze drifting in over the water. I could smell the Atlantic ocean on the air, since the farmhouse sits on a hill overlooking a bay. The trees were swaying and rustling in the breeze and sunlight filtered through the gigantic sugar maple leaves, dotting the duvet green. I could hear sea birds and the lowing of cattle. It was quite possibly the most at peace I have ever felt.

  • Week: 9!

What's new with baby (size, development): The size of a cherry (DH is finally starting to get excited and asked me this morning what fruit we're at!)

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Starting to plan how we're going to tell people. So far we've only told one friend who lives 1000 miles away and only because she flat out asked me and I can't lie to her. I've been avoiding talking to my sisters and parents because I feel like I'm lying to them every time I talk to them.  We're going to see them in early May and we want to wait to tell them in person. I've also been avoiding DH's family that all live in our town. I just know that they'll know as soon as I see them so I've been bowing out of family gatherings until we're ready to tell. Luckily that's only a few weeks away!

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: It's been a good week. I keep telling DH that I just don't feel like myself and there's no other way to describe it other than my body doesn't feel like my own. He was talking about getting into shape post-baby since he knows that's always been a goal and fear of mine and I told him that I can't focus on that now because all I want is to feel like my body is my own again.

When is your next appointment: 5/5 for 12 week check in.

GTKY: Tell me about your happiest childhood memory. I have so many I don't even know where to begin. My extended family shares a lake house that used to belong to my grandparents and most of my childhood summers were spent there. It's still my favorite place in the world. I remember calluses all over my feet from running around and refusing to wear shoes, swimming until my grandma made us get out for dinner (and then going back in after dinner for night swims), learning to waterski, learning to sail, cousins playing kick the can at dusk every night, flipping each other over in the hammock, playing board games on rainy days and reading the same books over and over and over again. There was no tv and no internet and we just spent all day with family. I wouldn't trade those summers for anything in the world. 112 days until I get to be back there
  • Hey Ladies, look like I go here now! Dr. moved me back a few days per ultrasound measurements.

    Week: 9

What's new with baby (size, development): Cherry. Got to hear a heartbeat this morning, love that sound! And saw his/her arm move which was way cool for such a mini me.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: My mother's coming to visit this weekend and will help me start organizing. I need to clean out my study/ craft room to make room for the spare bed so we can make the spare room into a nursery.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: My "morning" sickness is so much worse this time around than with my first. I mentioned it to my Dr. this morning and he prescribed Diclegis and I'm so excited to hopefully feel better tomorrow.

When is your next appointment: Two weeks for the Harmony test.

GTKY: Tell me about your happiest childhood memory. I had an incredibly happy childhood but my favorite memories all involve my big brother. Playing with him at the beach in the summer or in the snow in the winter. This is a good reminder of why I'm having this second baby, to give wonderful memories to my daughter.
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • Hey y'all! This is my first post on a ticker changer thread, as I wanted to wait until my first OB appointment (last Tuesday) to get a more accurate idea as to which day-of-the-week group I should join. The "ticker" that my OB is using to calculate my due date--which counts the CP I had the month before this pregnancy as my LMP starting date--doesn't actually change until Wednesday; however, based on both the expected starting date of my LMP and the development of the fetus, I'm 10 weeks today. Plus, I'll enjoy having this to look forward to in order to get me through the Monday blues. ;) So I hope you don't mind if I join!

    Week: 10

What's new with baby (size, development): Strawberry, yum!

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: We're finally getting ready to tell people this week! We're mailing my parents this cute little bib with a turkey on it and a card that says "Is there room at the table for one more this Thanksgiving?". (I realize that a newborn does not need a bib to breastfeed, but H and I still thought it was cute way to get the point across. :)) Once we get word that they've gotten the news, we'll tell my sisters, my boss, and our close friends. I'm so excited to be able to celebrate with everyone finally--and to stop feeling like I'm lying anytime I talk to anyone!
Oh, in less fun news, we're currently trying to switch me onto a different health insurance plan (long story). It's sort of stressful to be figuring this out after I've already started prenatal care, but at least it's less stressful now than it would be further down the road.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I think (*hope*) my first trimester misery might be turning a corner. I'm still throwing up most mornings, but the nausea largely subsides by noon, and my energy levels seem to be up a bit. Praying that I continue on this trajectory! Also, I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I've started to get round ligament pains over the last couple days when I change positions or stand up too quickly. I know it's still sort of early , so it could be something else, but what I'm feeling seems to be spot on with the descriptions I've read of round ligament pains. I'm 5'2" with no torso, so it wouldn't surprise me if our little bean is already trying to make some more room!
By the way, I'm starting to wonder whether I actually still have legitimate pregnancy-related food aversions, or whether I've just gotten so accustomed to eating processed, bland kids' food that the thought of real food simply no longer appeals to me. Either way, I'm trying to make the most of the excuse to eat lots of frozen cheese pizzas and buttered toast for as long as I can!  :p

When is your next appointment: Next OB appointment is May 3, but I still need to schedule an appointment to have blood work done, which will probably be before then. (They don't take blood at the OB office for some reason.)

GTKY: Tell me about your happiest childhood memory. Oh man, I'm so terrible at picking favorites, but the first that comes to mind is a time that my little sister, two cousins, and I spent a week at my grandparents' farm in south Georgia and found two little black puppies (looked like some sort of lab mix) abandoned in a storm drain. We named them Poppy and Nicki, and Nicki was so skiddish that we were never able to get her to come to us, but we did get Poppy to come out, and we played with her all week. Once we'd all left to go back home, my grandparents were able to find a local farmer to adopt them. It still sort of makes me sad that we didn't get to keep them, but I'm sure they loved their lives out on the farm!
  • Week: 9

What's new with baby (size, development): Green Olive

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Working on sanding/painting DD1 new big girl bed so we can move her room. We bought the "sister" shirt we plan on telling my family with :)

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: afternoon nausea has hit me like woah. Right around 4pm until I go to sleep. Not throwing up thank God, but the dry heaving and awful feeling is making me worthless in the evenings.

When is your next appointment: next tuesday!

GTKY: Tell me about your happiest childhood memory. This is so hard. There's too many. Summer was always the best. We would rent a house at the beach and just enjoy family time.  I spent a lot of the summer with my grandfather, who would take us to the local lake almost every day. He would sit under a tree in the shade and read the newspaper and listen to music while we played at the "lake beach". Then he'd stop and get us frosty's on the way home. Summer's rock.

  • @kns1988 Im feeling the same way about my appt. Just thinking being in the waiting room is nerve racking enough for me even after a good emergency appt a few weeks ago. It just is imprinted in my brain I think.

    @Natashasprout FX good luck!

@kilgravemademedoit CRAZY! I was going crazy waiting for this week .. and now im nervous as hell for my appt.

    Week: 10!

What's new with baby (size, development): Finalizing organ development and starting to look like an actual baby.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: We have already told my best friends and my parents, I refuse to tell his parents until we are ready to announce to the world because his mom is the worst at secrets. We are finally getting ready for our appointment this week and as long as all is well we plan to tell his mother on Mothers day with a cute frame with the ultrasound picture. We also want to have the rest of our friends over for dinner so we can announce to them all at once.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: Ive ranted a bit much today, I think I need a nap and stop stressing out! I keep having a fear that my symptoms have subsided, but then it seems they come right back. Just when I think theres no symptoms, I get extreme headache, hearburn, reflux or a hot flash. I just need to get to Thursday for clarity.

When is your next appointment: This Thursday finally! Although I feel like I have been waiting forever for this appt to get here, Im also sort of terrified for it to be here. Trying to be positive and not stress out over the unknown.

GTKY: Tell me about your happiest childhood memory.  Probably sleepovers and time spent with my friends.

  • Week: 10  :)

What's new with baby (size, development): A strawberry. Growing finger nails and hair

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: working on finding a new house for space.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: nausea is gone, I have almost no symptoms now. Fatigue is getting better!
Also, I'm getting married two months from today!!

When is your next appointment: Harmony test on Wednesday.

GTKY: Tell me about your happiest childhood memory. Everything was great before my parents divorced.
  • Week: 11weeks

What's new with baby (size, development): lime

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Nothing, I am too tired and sick.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I am SO nauseated! I am looking for a new job, so I have some anxiety on how to approach the whole being pregnant thing.

When is your next appointment: May 3rd, but we did the harmony blood draw today, and will have an elective ultrasound on Saturday before we announce.

GTKY: Tell me about your happiest childhood memory. Hanging out with my cousins at their place. My parents' place was pretty boring, and we would find all excuses to go to my Aunt & Uncle's place, and have extended stays, especially during the Summer.

  • Had my appointment and just like I told them over the phone, I ovulated cd 19 and am measuring 5 days behind so I'll be moving over to Saturday ticker change. So glad they trusted me today and moved my due date to fit with when I ovulated.
  • Week: 10 wooohoo!

What's new with baby (size, development): kumquat (I don't know what that is? lol), strawberry, Ferrero Rocher chocolate!

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Nothing super new, just continuing my reading

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: Man alive it has been a week! Thursday and Friday had some bleeding in the morning and freaked, obviously. Went to the doctor and my little babe waved at me! All looked good but no answers as to why it happened. Taking it easy and no sex or working out for a week. Boobs hurt bad in morning and at night, and there is NO pooping unless 1/2cup or 1 cup of black coffee is involved in some way. I am really trying not to drink my coffee but MAN ALIVE I feel like shit if I don't... pun intended.

When is your next appointment:  27th of April

GTKY: Tell me about your happiest childhood memory.
Being up north at our cabin! We have had it since I was 3 and a few years ago we moved next door and my cousins and aunt and uncle bought the one next door to us. It is the best place in the world, on the water, so quiet, my favorite place to just relax and be with family.

What's new with baby (size, development): thought I was at 10 weeks and ultrasound said nope, just 7 ;)

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: trying to eat better and stay active this pregnancy

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions:  tmi but I'm just tired of spotting, my Dr says I have an irritable cervix, it bled at the slightest touch during the exam today.... Ugh it doesn't help with nervousness

When is your next appointment:  may 10th

GTKY: Tell me about your happiest childhood memory: hmm I had a good childhood, I always loved playing outside with my brother. We had this area around this huge sandstone rock that we pretended was our house because it had pits in it that we could pretend were shelves. It was fun.
