ow many weeks and how big is baby? 14w! Baby is the size of a filet mignon Current symptoms?
Rants/Raves/Questions? Our NIPT came back yesterday and all the genetic results were good!
GTKY: Tell us about what your new baby's room will look like (bonus for pictures!) We're major outdoor/hiking guys so I've been thinking of doing a mountain mural on the nursery wall.
kinda like this but blue sky and no silly balloons
How many weeks and how big is baby? 12 weeks! Wooooooo! (I don't follow how big baby is. I did with first pregnancy, but just never downloaded an app this time).
Current symptoms? EXHAUSTED. morning sickness. I want to eat everything.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I want to announce tomorrow, but haven't came up with a cute announcement yet. I'm too tired to think about it.
GTKY: Tell us about what your new baby's room will look like (bonus for pictures!) I'm not really into themed rooms, and we don't know the sex yet. But I really like clean, white rooms with touches of color here and there. Depending on personality of the baby. We didn't really decorate DD's room until 6ish month, after her personality started to come out. But this is part of her room and it really suits her. It's kind of whimsical and she has a bright, beautiful morrocan area rug. Her crib was a simple white, sheets were white. I plan to do the same with this little one's room.
@anna.oskar I kind of love the balloons, but definitely love the painting!
How many weeks and how big is baby? 11 weeks!! Poker chip sized, which my Vegas loving self adores.
Current symptoms? I have some good days, and then some bad days. I am so over the nausea and vomiting. I wish there was an app for blocking any food commercials, ads, or references on my bad days. The Burger King hotdog commercial about made me lose it ::vom::
Rants/Raves/Questions? We announced to Facebook last night! I was so surprised by the amount of love and feedback we got. It definitely feels more real to have announced, and I finally feel like I can be excited and stop being scared.
GTKY: Tell us about what your new baby's room will look like (bonus for pictures!) The baby's room is on the small side, so I want to keep it really clean and simple. If it's a boy, DH wants to do a sports room. I'll have some veto power, but he has a ton of collectibles I know he wants to use. I'm down with that. If baby is a girl I'm thinking mint with pops of pink. I love the look of the picture below.
How many weeks and how big is baby? 13 weeks, baby is the size of a clown fish Current symptoms? Not a whole lot, still have a serious lack of energy. Oh, and heartburn has started, bleh.
Rants/raves/questions? My 12 week appt this week was a mess. I'm glad the 2nd trimester is here and once we get out nipt results, I can relax until October.
GTKY: Tell us what your new baby's room will look like
This is my third and we are out of bedrooms so baby will be sharing with my toddler for now. His room is a bright but light aqua color and basically looks like this one below minus the changing table, rug and mobile. If baby happens to be a girl, in my house of boys, we'll probably be house hunting in the near future!
@mrskratt I'm riding the ms train here still too. Ugh! But I love that book shelf idea! I wish baby didn't have such a small room but it's probably good lest I go insane. I'm one and done so this baby is getting all I've got! (according to my app, your baby is the size of a chicken nugget this week)
@SuperNerd42 I love the mint! Also, I'm pretty jealous of your announcement. I keep telling myself the surprise of telling at my girl's reunion will be epic and worth waiting.
@kelliot09 I was SO nervous for our nipt results, but they should be coming soon so you can relax!
How many weeks and how big is baby? 14 weeks! Baby is the size of a lemon.
Current symptoms? I go back and forth. Some days I feel great and others I'm exhausted.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I am so anxious to find out the sex. We are going to wait until then to announce on FB. I have seen about 3 or 4 people announce who are due before or at the same time as me and it makes it worse.
On a side note, a girl I know announce she is due in September and she got 900 "likes!" I don't even know 900 people lol.
GTKY: Tell us about what your new baby's room will look like (bonus for pictures!) I think I will have a more concrete idea once we figure out the sex. But it will likely be some shade of green either way.
How many weeks and how big is baby? 14 weeks, baby boy is the size of a large lemon!
Current symptoms? Well I think I jinxed myself by saying that I had an easy first tri and I was feeling great the past week or so. Yesterday at work I passed out and had to go to the ER! So scary! Everything checked out fine but unfortunately they don't really have an answer, so I'm just trying to do everything I can like drinking tons of water, eating every two hours, and not standing still for long periods of time. Otherwise feeling good, but now I have major anxiety that this will happen again!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Has anyone else experienced feeling dizzy/lightheaded/passing out during pregnancy? Any helpful advice? On the rave side of things... we got the Verifi results and everything is normal and we're having a BOY! Yay!!!!
GTKY: Tell us about what your new baby's room will look like (bonus for pictures!) I'm going for neutral decor, mostly gray and white probably. I don't really want to do a theme, but there will probably be lots of animals and books, I absolutely adore children's books! The second picture is the color we have already painted the nursery. Sorry the pics are so big, no clue how to make them smaller!
Edit: Neither of these pictures are the actual room, just examples! I hope it turns out looking like either of these!
@Blonde1817 what a gorgeous room your boy already has! Those floors with that color is beautiful! I'm glad you're okay! How scary. I actually had fainted 3 times before my BFP, but not since being pregnant. I had all sorts of tests ran, with no answers what so ever. I drink a ton of water and eat a lot, yet I am still dizzy all the time. I black out a lot. I also have anxiety about passing out. It's scary! Keep me updated and let me know if you find out any answers.
@mrskratt Haha thanks, that's actually just a picture I found that has the same paint color! The room is not quite that nice, but the paint really is beautiful and makes it look so bright and airy.
@smmatt08 Yeah, there was a nurse practitioner at my work right when it happened and she took my blood pressure right after, which was low, and my blood sugar, which was not horrible but lower than expected given the breakfast I'd eaten. So I am definitely going to try eating 6 small meals a day now and make sure I have a lot of protein in my meals and snacks. Snickers is probably not a good idea but I agree with the sentiment
@Blonde1817, how scary! I've had a lot of dizziness this pregnancy, but not to that extent. Maybe a blood sugar/pressure combo hit at the same time?
I love seeing these rooms! A friend of mine just painted a mountain mural like that, and it looks AMAZING. But I know that if I tried it myself, I'd just wreck a wall.
How many weeks and how big is baby? 12 weeks, the size of a plum or a Robo hamster!
Current symptoms? I'm feeling downright second-trimestery. More energy, a discernible sex drive, a more predictable appetite, and a little less boob pain. I am queasy this morning, but that's because this dumbass stayed up late working on a project and ate Steak & Shake at 1 a.m.
Rants/Raves/Questions? When I lie on my stomach, I can feel my uterus!
GTKY: Tell us about what your new baby's room will look like (bonus for pictures!) We're out of bedrooms, which is a shame because we put a lot of work and thought into our son's room (which is unfortunately too small for another crib) and it's going to feel like we don't care as much about this baby. But s/he would be in our room with us for the first few months anyway, and we're talking about getting screens after that to make a baby alcove in our gigantic bedroom, which used to be a formal parlor before the house was converted into apartments.
How many weeks are you and how big is baby: I'm 11 weeks and baby is size of a lime.
Current symptoms: major food aversions, all day nausea, irritability, and some brain fog
Rants/raves/questions: Saw doc today and unfortunately have to do a 24 hour urine collection because of some proteins found in my sample so kinda bummed about that. I wish I had the desire to eat or drink, but everything sounds or makes me feel gross, including water
GTKY: We currently have DD's room set up with gray walls, white wainscoting, and touches of lavender, gray, and yellow around. Because we became bed sharing family, we basically only use her room as a closet and storage for her things. Depending on this baby's sex, we may just keep it the same but add her name banner, or if he's a boy, we divide half and add navy. We do have a guest bedroom, but plan on having them share while they're still little (they'll be about 22 months apart). The picture is of DD's nursery when we were still working on it.
@smmatt08 I have been much more hangry than usual, I have probably been acting like a snickers bar commercial when I need a snack! Pregnancy makes you weird!
How many weeks and how big is baby? 15 weeks! Baby is the size of a navel orange
Current symptoms? My MS and overall moodiness has been gone about 2-3 weeks now. But my overall lack of sex drive is still there This is so unusual for me, and really bothers me. Before BFP I had a very active sex drive. I kept telling myself it would come back, but it still hasn't. I am starting to lose hope. But fingers crossed it does come back!
Rants/Raves/Questions? SUPER thrilled to have my energy back! But it seems like every single weekend we have plans and all I want to do it get this nursery done!
GTKY: Tell us about what your new baby's room will look like (bonus for pictures!) I am going with safari theme! We have a family friend who just went on a safari and is a professional photographer. I am going to use some of her pictures of mama/dad and baby african animals from her last trip. I am really excited to see it all come together.
Me: 26 | DH: 27 June 2012: Married | Started TTC #1
BFP Jan 25 2016 | EDD Sept 30 2016
@Blonde1817 I don't have any helpful advice but I do remember a couple of times in my last pregnancy that I got dizzy and almost passed out. It seems like I was around 12 weeks then. My doctor said it was normal. He had a fancy word for it but if I remember correctly it had something to do with all the extra blood pumping right now.
How many weeks and how big is baby? 13 weeks! Baby is the size of peach!
Current symptoms? Still occasionally nauseous, tired, and hungry all the time.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Does anyone know if progesterone shots in the butt hurt?
GTKY: Tell us about what your new baby's room will look like (bonus for pictures!) I'm not so sure yet. For a girl, I would like to do a hot air balloon theme, or maybe just balloons in general. I have been a balloon fan all my life. For a boy, I really don't know. I like a lot of the decor from The Land of Nod.
How many weeks and how big is baby? 11 weeks! Baby is the size of a lime, or golf ball...
Current symptoms? My energy is coming back! But, I'm still nauseous and weak if I wait too long to eat.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Told work this week (belly popped last week, and couldn't hide it anymore) and have received joyous responses! Yay! I just saw a genetic counselor yesterday and they took my blood for the verifi test! Should have results in a week- so excited!
GTKY: Tell us about what your new baby's room will look like (bonus for pictures!) We live in a 2-bedroom house, and our 4-year-old daughter is in the second bedroom, which is decorated in mint and white colors, white furniture, with mermaids. This baby will be in our room for the first 6 months or so... not sure on changing decor of DD's room for sharing with the baby... we'll cross that bridge when we get to it (and when we know gender!)
BFP #1: 10/2011, Pre-eclampsia in last 6 weeks, emergency C-section, DD born 6/25/11
BFP #2: 8/16/14, Ectopic Pregnancy & Methotrexate Inj. 9/5/14, Adverse MTX reaction, HCG levels down after 2 weeks
@anna.oskar - I have the hardest time tagging you! Only the anna part seems to link, but not the .oskar. I love the idea of a mural! I bet you could make the room really outdoorsy. I was obsessed with Moonrise Kingdom at one point and wanted a nursery themed that way, if you look on pinterest that theme is very outdoorsy/hikey.
@mrskratt, I love the shelves! We have those in black in the living room. I display our picture frames there. So much easier than hanging.
@supernerd - love the mint idea. I think it's a neutral color and isn't too girly
@kelliott09 - sorry about the awful appointment! what happened?
@Blonde1817 - congrats on the boy! we are having a boy too! Also, i love gray. and love that room pictured.
@duckmay - you're not the only one out of room! our wittle babe has to share a room with his two big sisters who are with us only 4 nights a month.... but still. I feel kinda sad he won't have his own space.
@rozANDbenSINCE2001 - girl, i feel you on the brainfog. My boss a few weeks ago (when I was about 11 weeks) said to me: "Anna I don't know if it's your hormones but your work this week is sloppy" (cue the hormonal tears. He told me to not do too much at one time. It's helped (i hope). But also, my baby will be sharing the room as well. I'm gonna do a closet nook. I'll post pictures below.
@paigeshef - love the safari idea! Z gallerie has awesome safari-themed accessories.
How many weeks and how big is baby? - My DD has been yoyo-ing! Per LMP I'm due 10/14, as per my FIRST ultrasound (which my doctor thinks is the most accurate) I'm due 10/11.... and as per the NT scan, I' due 10/7. But since this is my "home ticker board" I'd like to stay here if you ladies will have me. So the baby is measuring 14 weeks, but is only 13w3d.
Current symptoms? - I feel great! Ill feel nausea, for a little bit sometimes... but nothing like before. My energy is back, I can cook again, I can have sex again. I am liking this 2nd trimester!
Rants/Raves/Questions? - None really... just TGIF!!!! Oh and I got to see our baby twice this week. Monday on the super high tech ultrasound machine for the NT scan and Wednesday on the not-so-high tech U/S machine at my doctor's. Both times he was super active. Can't wait to start feeling him!
GTKY: Baby boy will be sharing a room with my stepdaughters (6 and 8) who now have a mermaid themed bedroom. We only have them 4 nights a month, and we live in a 2BR home we love.... I would hate to have to move when we put so much work into it. I think we can make it work... this sharing. The girls have art like this
So I don't know quite how to make it less feminine. I think I'll make it a Pirates & Mermaids themed room.... but not too themed. Because I don't want it to be over the top... just accents. Kinda like this
I still don't know what color to paint the walls.... But I'm thinking lots of gray with a soft muted teal (grayish teal)
Lastly, we are taking apart the closet and putting the baby nook there... like this
@annabenanna The brain fog is so embarrassing! I'll go to say something and literally a word will just disappear from my train of thought. Awful! I'm sorry about work I hope you'll continue to take it easier on yourself! Also, I LOVE the theme that your stepdaughters have going on and the idea for the closet nook! We have a fairly good sized closet so that might be a really good idea for us as well. Our friends have a really hip one bedroom loft in the city and they got super creative when they changed their large pantry into a nursery for their son born last year. They put a sliding barn door on it and it was so cute and cozy in there!
@seadana yay for Etsy! The artist is so talented. I bought 4 mermaid art prints from her.... and I looked again this week and saw she had one pirate one I might buy.
@rozANDbenSINCE2001 , ooooh a barn door! How cool! I cannot imagine living in a loft with a baby, but lots of people do it and they get creative and it always turns out so posh. I see it on airbnb all the time!
How many weeks and how big is baby? 13 weeks, the size of a hot jalapeño!
Current symptoms? Not much... I've had a little more energy this week and I'm going to stop taking Diclegis this weekend to see if morning sickness is gone (tried last weekend but nausea came back).
Rants/Raves/Questions? I've been craving a Diet Coke this whole pregnancy... Since I'm about out of the first trimester, I'm ready to have one as an occasional treat!
GTKY: Tell us about what your new baby's room will look like (bonus for pictures!). Baby will be in our room for at least a few months, like we did with our daughter. When she is ready for her own room, she will either share with DD, or we might try to move to a house where she would have her own bedroom. DD's nursery was supposed to have a travel theme, but we only went as far as a map decal and a decoration not pictured that has a globe design on her initial. Here is her room before she was using it! Now filled with more books and a few toys...
current symptoms: occasional nausea, turning into a night owl and binge watching call the midwife.
rants/raves/questions? I would really love to participate with photo posting. Wtf is wrong with the programmers of this app. It is so buggy. I can't figure out how to contact them to complain through the app either. I'm getting the cord TODAY to hard wire the pc.
gtky:what will baby room look like? Baby won't have a room for a while. My daughter's room used to have the jungle Jill crib set theme. We switched to an ikea bed and got rid of the theme. It's very focused on toy and book storage. Lots of shelves and bins in different colors. The girls picked out the duvet and sheets. Pink and white checkered duvet with flamingo sheets. If we have a boy we will probably do a space theme in his room, eventually.
*lurking* @TheMillerHighLife I'm not going to lie, the PIO shots can hurt. I had to do them a week before my transfer and then just stopped doing them at Week 13. Here are a few tips... Ice the area that will get the shot for a good 10-15 minutes.. make sure it's numb. It's easier if you have a partner to give you the shots. Warm up the PIO (in the bottle or the needle) under your armpit.. Don't use an electric blanket as it can't get too hot (it will begin to degrade). Massage the area after the shot.. Alternate sides of your butt for the shot each night, but sometimes if one side hurts too much, just do the same side but a little bit away from one another. Be sure to do the outer-upper quadrant of the cheek. Good luck with the shots! Send me a pm if you have any questions!
How many weeks and how big is baby? 12 weeks. Baby is the size of a lime or a toy army man.
Current symptoms? MS is starting to get better and I have energy for longer periods of time, so that's good.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I know I've complained about this before, but I am SO ready to be done with progesterone. I put on a pair of maternity work pants yesterday and there was a dark stain around the crotch, making it look like I peed myself. I was desperate, so I wore them anyway and prayed that my shirt was long enough to cover it. Just one more week....
GTKY: Tell us about what your new baby's room will look like (bonus for pictures!) We don't know the gender yet, so we don't have any definite plans for the nursery. However, the room that we're using already has dark blue walls and I don't want to re-paint. So, if it's a girl, I think we'll do navy blue and coral colors. I've seen some cute mermaid/nautical stuff in that color scheme. My husband is a huge comic book guy, so the theme will probably be superheroes if it's a boy. I'm not even going to try to post pictures since I've never even been able to get my ticker to show up.
@Blonde1817 I've suffered from low blood pressure my whole life so I totally get where you're coming from. While I've mastered the art of staying conscious during the day, I've been feeling very dizzy at night since getting pregnant. There are a lot of reasons you could be feeling dizzy but if it's due to fluctuating blood volume and resulting low blood pressure I can tell you what works for me: always be aware of how you feel before standing up, avoid movements that alter your body position in rapid succession (ie burpees), drink lots of water and eat lots of salt (I was on salt pills for about 6 months when I had mono because I literally couldn't stand up without them), if your teeth can handle it, Gatorade (or other electrolye-rich drink) works wonders. If your vision starts to close in, make sure you lie down immediately. Passing out due to low blood pressure is usually only dangerous if you fall. Feel better!!
How many weeks and how big is baby? 13w0d, which according to previous posts from you ladies means baby is as big as a scoop of ice cream. I LOVE that
Current symptoms? STILL having cramping on and off almost every day, though now that I've had several appointments confirming a healthy baby I'm less anxious about it.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I have my "genetic risk scan" next Thursday which I'm so nervous about. 1 because I really have no idea what they're going to do and 2 because I'm scared to hear bad news.
GTKY: Tell us about what your new baby's room will look like (bonus for pictures!) Baby won't have a room until probably summer. Our second bedroom is currently my home office. While getting rid of the desk is no big deal, I have NO idea what to do with all of my books!! Soo selfish, I know, but I smuggled over 150 pounds of books in my hand luggage and I simply can't put them in storage! Current plan is to buy some type of drape to cover the shelves with (so baby can't pull anything out) and leave them in there until we buy a house in a few years. Theme will be baby animals (focus on penguins and rhinos), but I haven't really planned anything.
How many weeks and how big is baby? 13 weeks, as big as a peach!
Current symptoms? Still the same ones, fatigue and meat aversions.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Raves: I got a new job! I have also started feeling some "butterflies". Rants: My boobs won't stop growing and the pain is getting worse. I thought it was bad before, nope.
GTKY: Tell us about what your new baby's room will look like (bonus for pictures!) We haven't decided yet. We are waiting until we find out the gender.
@books&icecream Thanks for the advice, I'll take anything I can get! The frustrating thing is I really haven't felt dizzy at all during pregnancy other than that moment. I wish I had an answer about what caused that particular incident. But I guess I'll just have to be careful (but try not to be overly anxious about it).
@Blonde1817 I got an alert from the Bump app this morning that said that at 12 weeks, the normal pregnancy symptoms could be replaced by headaches and dizziness. I've definitely felt light headed when I stand up these past few days. Hope it calms down for you and you don't pass out again, that's scary!

@annabenanna Eh, just a bunch of stuff that makes a hormonal pregnant woman crazy. I ranted about it in the Weekly Appointments Thread if you want to read my whining. Lol

GTKY: Tell us about what your new baby's room will look like (bonus for pictures!)
We're out of bedrooms, which is a shame because we put a lot of work and thought into our son's room (which is unfortunately too small for another crib) and it's going to feel like we don't care as much about this baby. But s/he would be in our room with us for the first few months anyway, and we're talking about getting screens after that to make a baby alcove in our gigantic bedroom, which used to be a formal parlor before the house was converted into apartments.
E born 6/2014
I'm 11 weeks and baby is size of a lime.
It's a boy!
15 weeks! Baby is the size of a navel orange
Current symptoms?
My MS and overall moodiness has been gone about 2-3 weeks now. But my overall lack of sex drive is still there
Rants/Raves/Questions?
SUPER thrilled to have my energy back! But it seems like every single weekend we have plans and all I want to do it get this nursery done!
GTKY: Tell us about what your new baby's room will look like (bonus for pictures!)
I am going with safari theme! We have a family friend who just went on a safari and is a professional photographer. I am going to use some of her pictures of mama/dad and baby african animals from her last trip. I am really excited to see it all come together.

Lastly, we are taking apart the closet and putting the baby nook there... like this
So jealous of all you ladies who have space!

@rozANDbenSINCE2001 , ooooh a barn door! How cool! I cannot imagine living in a loft with a baby, but lots of people do it and they get creative and it always turns out so posh. I see it on airbnb all the time!

@TheMillerHighLife I'm not going to lie, the PIO shots can hurt.
DS#2 due 25 April 2019
13 weeks, as big as a peach!
Current symptoms?
Still the same ones, fatigue and meat aversions.
Rants/Raves/Questions?
Raves: I got a new job! I have also started feeling some "butterflies".
Rants: My boobs won't stop growing and the pain is getting worse. I thought it was bad before, nope.
GTKY: Tell us about what your new baby's room will look like (bonus for pictures!)
We haven't decided yet. We are waiting until we find out the gender.
