First Birthday Party

So my 27weekers will be turning a year old on January 17. Since it's winter my husband & I decided not to throw them a first birthday party. Wanted to avoid all the germs! I suggested having a big first birthday party near their due date April 15 but my husband says that's weird. Thoughts? Anyone else have a winter preemie? What do you all plan on doing?

    Weird. We are having our dd bday party in January, I don't worry much about germs though she puts everything in her mouth as it is. If you don't want a birthday party, don't have one, you don't need to have a 1st birthday party.

    Weird as a preemie you don't worry about others peoples germs esp in the winter during RSV season

    I celebrated their 1st birthdays near their actual birthdays. We took off a couple of years did family only birthdays for my kids as well as Halloween and Valentine's Day parties. It was last year that I combined their birthdays and did joint birthday in the middle of May. Last year was Scooby Doo, this year is Star Wars. I would do a birthday party for them when you can have fun with it.  Hopefully, you can do that when they turn 2 years old.  There are a lot of fun ideas for twin birthday stuff on etsy.com.  I like to create a pinterest page and put my ideas together for a fun birthday party.

Baby measured 9 weeks, still a heartbeat 12/23/09. Good NT Scan on 1/8/10, heartbeat 164. EDD 7/28/10. TEAM BLUE! Aidan Thomas born on May 26, 2010. Baby #2, BFP 11/27/11, EDD 6/5/12. TEAM PINK! Noelle Elizabeth born 4/30/12. Blessing from God, Blessing from God, Blessing from God, Blessing from God.
