What are some beauty products you are loving? What is your cleansing routine and makeup routine now that we have new LO's keeping us super busy? Are you a no makeup and wet hair in a bun kind ofperson or a makeup and blow-dry? Anyone subscribe to any of the box subscriptions that are out there?

ETA: added a question

I love coconut oil for moisturizing. I don't have any special products I use, just a bar of soap to wash my face before bed and in the morning. I moisturize, then do a light foundation, eyeliner and mascara with all drugstore products. As you can tell I don't like spending money on this type of stuff but I would if there was something worth it and I knew would work for me. I love to (I dont love to do it but love when its done ;-) ) blow-dry and straighten my hair in the morning but I just don't have time everyday so I will just throw my hair up in a wet ponytail and do my simple makeup routine. I started taking the mini pill this week and started breaking out like crazy so I've been having to use more makeup to *try* to cover it up but its not working :-1:

ETA: I've subscribed to the ipsy glam bag in the past and used hardly any of the products that came but I did look forward to the surprise every time. There were some good nail polishes, eye shadow, and lipsticks but I hardly ever use that stuff so I canceled my subscription.

  • When I'm at home all day I just wash my hair and comb it (which is normal) and then just put moisturizer on my poor dry cheeks. If I'm going to the store I sometimes put mascara on so I don't look totally dead. I only do my whole makeup routine if we're going out for a special occasion now. When I go back to work I'll have to start it back up again
  • Well my actual beauty routine vs my fantasty routine is pretty different lol I use make up remover wipes to take my makeup off (when I wear it) after I shower I lather from head to toe with coconut oil. I fell in love with it when I was pregnant. My everyday routine is normally no makeup or minimal makeup. Where I live it's gets hot and humid fast! I like to wear a little powder, blush, eyeliner and mascara. Hair is normally in a ponytail.
    - my fantasy routine would be makeup based off of one of my favorite makeup tutorials (Jaclyn hill) she is my favorite! I've learned a lot about makeup from her. I also love curling wands! I like to fix my hair with it and it keeps the beachy curls all day.
    - also try the Vaseline dry oil spray (yellow bottle) leaves your skin soft without a greasy finish.

I really like 'yes to' moisturizer.  I use the grapefruit.  I typically put that on every day no matter what.  Every year or so I find myself trying one of the nicer brands of foundation and I honestly have never found a $30-40 foundation that I can justify liking enough to buy again, so I am back again to a drug store BB cream (I think maybelline).  I'll typically do BB cream and some maybelline blush if I'm going out to do anything like going to my mom class or a doctor's appointment.  And for anything more important I'll do full out make up... LOVE my naked palette.  Probably the only piece of make up I can justify spending good money on... And I swear by Almay liquid liner.  I've been buying it for years.  But I've probably only done a full work up about 10 times since I've given birth (I used to basically always wear full makeup).

ETA: I never blow dry my hair. I typically just let it air dry and wear as is.  I used to straighten my hair a lot more... Typically I don't have time.

  • I wash my hair every 3 days, at bedtime, and let it dry overnight. I always always always apply a heat protectant after washing. In the morning, I either straighten or curl it. The next couple days I just kind of refresh it with straight iron/curling iron, dry shampoo and Pantene "airspray".

I've been using Micellar water on a cotton pad to wash my face since right around the time baby was born. I tend to get a little hormonal acne when baby is born, so I have that, but otherwise my skin seems to really like it. Then I use under eye concealer, cover any blemishes with the same concealer, and mascara. That is probably nine days out of ten.

  • I was an Esthetician before I became a SAHM so beauty was my profession. Back then I subscribed to a few of the beauty boxes so I could recommend products for clients. I worked at a day spa and makeup application was a big service for us so back then before full time mom life I had to have full professional makeup and hair done for work and some days I hated it. Now staying at home with the kids and running errands and such I don't have time for that. I just use a good morturizer from Bioelements and usually braid my hair. When I do use makeup I love my naked palletes like pp said and makeup forever products
  • The only products I wear regularly are a moisturizer with SPF, lotion for my stretch marks, and sunscreen if I'll be outside.

I'll put lipstick on if I'm feeling fancy. Ideally I'd like to do eye makeup but there doesn't ever seem to be time...and lipstick is fast!
  • I use a bar of soap to cleanse and that's it. If I need more moisture, I use a dab of coconut oil. If I'm going somewhere with friends I may opt for some mascara. But mascara was basically my only everyday makeup product even before DD was born. If I wanted to jazz it up I would use BB cream, blush, and maybe eyeliner and highlighter. One day I'll get back to the Jazz-it-up stage lol
  • I shower at night during the week and let my hair air dry. Before work (I'm a nanny) I pull my hair up and put on eye shadow and mascara. On the weekends I shower in the morning since DH is here to watch the kiddos and blow dry my hair then straighten it or don't wash it and curl it. Then I use foundation, blush, primer, eye shadow, eye liner, and mascara. All drug store products with the exception of my eye shadow which is the Naked 2 palette. I've found I'm in a better mood when I get at least a little ready.
  • Boring here, as well. I use Andalou Naturals wash and lotion, and just wash my face in the shower. No makeup day to day, except for the occasional brush with some Bare Minerals. I have mascara, but don't wear it often because I have a bad habit of rubbing my eyes.

Hair, I air dry and put it in a pony or bun. I haven't worn my hair down (except for special occasions) for years.

  • I use supergoop's BB or CC cream (too lazy to go look). It has sunscreen in it and is slightly tinted and use eyeshadow and concealer most days. When I'm feeling fancy (or need to look awake) I put on mascara (so, 3 times in 8 weeks maybe?). I usually wash my hair every other day and let it air dry because there's no time.

I subscribe to birchbox (which I love because you can earn points by reviewing your samples and then use them towards full sized products). It's like ipsy and I love the surprises! I also have a subscription to Graze (which sends individual small snacks). Ive tried a bunch of subscription boxes over the years thanks to my SIL and in laws--they're such a fun, different gift for when you're out of ideas and don't need more "stuff" to store in a small apartment.
  • I'm a shower at night and put it in a messy bun. If I'm going somewhere I'll straighten my hair. Then use dry shampoo for two days(I love not your mothers). I always put moisturizer and face primer. Then I use a liquid foundation with SPF. If I'm going somewhere I'll put mascara on and if it's a special occasion eyeshadow and liner lol.
@mississippicatfish do you like the Micellar water? I've been wanting to try some but keep forgetting to pick some up at the store.

  • @baya5 I like it, but I'm not sure that I love it.  Some days I just don't like getting my face and hands wet, and I don't like spending money on facial cleansing wipes, so this is nice.  But I don't know if I'll stick with it long-term.  It's nice for when I feel lazy!  (Which is every day, these days. LOL)
