H is out of town this weekend, and whenever he's gone our puppy dog gets super bossy towards me (mostly because I fall for her cuteness every time, and she knows she has me wrapped around her little paw). This morning she woke me up by pawing me in the face, growling at me, and wagging her tail against the bed until I got up to take her outside. She's so tiny it's totally harmless, and she's so old I don't mind spoiling her—but I sure need to work on getting a backbone before I have little kids to reckon with!
DH got a raise and told me I could quit my job if I wanted to!!! OMG yay! Now I just have to figure out how I'm going to break it to work. So excited to be a stay at home Mom!!! He says he doesn't want me doing "nothing" not sure what I'll do ha ha, but at least can stop working 7:30-4 and have more time at home with my DD
I made salmon with chive sauce yesterday for supper and I realized I know how to make a lot of really easy, but fancy-seeming recipes in my head. Tonight is chicken tetrazzini, cucumber and tomato salad, and Caesar salad.
The only reason I'm putting this much energy into cooking right now is because we have guests.

I spent 30 minutes making avocado toast for the first time (yes I ate poached eggs with runny-ish yolks) and as I went to set it down on the table one of the slices slipped off the plate and landed face down on my lap top. That was crushing.
Went garage sale-ing with my mom this morning. Literally filled the car with stuff (pack & play, stroller, baby bathtub, tons of books, and a rock 'N play) all for about $90. I'm sure that there's still tons more we will need, but this seems to be a good start
@rspalding001 Not to worry, you won't be doing nothing. I barely manage to keep up with only one baby to chase around the house. I can't imagine how it's about to be with two.
We just went to a gender reveal party and there were a few kids, including my 3.5 yr old, running around playing. They were in and out of rooms and apparently my lovely child found something 'special' in a closet...like something that should be in your nightstand. Our friend must have saw it pretty quickly before it made its way out of the bedroom. It was described as 'hard, yellow and looked kinda like a Minion' by DD...luckily they are really good friends and we all got a laugh out of it!
I gave in and decided to check out some Maternity clothes today. DS fell asleep on the way to Target so DH let me loose to shop. I haven't gone clothes shopping alone in so long, it was glorious.
Scored 2 pairs full panel SUPER cute maternity shorts, 1 mat tank, 1 navy blue/white polka dot mat blouse, 2 mat dresses and 1 black mat blouse for under $130! #winning
Edit: Ross, shockingly, has some uber cute maternity wear. I had to weed through a lot of elastic necklines (shudder) but for real, I was happy.
My sister is being an ass. Our dad is in town from across the country for work and he extended his trip so that he could see us, but she's refusing to answer his calls or let him see his grandchild. It's been 22 years since our parents got divorced and she still can't get the fuck over it and grant some forgiveness. It must be exhausting to hold onto that much anger. If she's going to continue to be pissed at him for the rest of her life, I wish she'd at least be up front about it and cut ties instead of just dodging phone calls and putting me in the middle. /rant.

I just ordered Chilis from grubhub because I HAD to have steak and a salad. It was $70 for the total order and delivery. I feel a little ridiculous for paying that much when I could have just put a bra on and gone to the store for steak and lettuce. But... It will be delicious.

Another random.. what in the world is a birth photographer? Lurking on another thread and multiple people have said they only plan to have their spouse and their birth photographer in the delivery room. Is this a thing? Are the pictures literally taken while you're giving birth, and is that really something that needs to be commemorated with pictures? I just don't get it.
UPDATE: Okay, so this is still definitely not for me because I think it's an intimate moment and the photography would feel intrusive to me... but I'm not gonna lie, I looked up birth photography and got teary-eyed looking at some of the photos. I guess I can see the appeal. I'm just not into documenting everything because I think it takes you out of the moment. @kns1988in normal life I'm pretty private/conservative with clothing (I could barely bring myself to wear a bikini prepregnancy). But the moments before and after giving birth I honestly didn't care who saw me naked. And I really don't know what it was like bc I was so focused. I don't think anyone professional being there could've ruined the moment either.
I didn't and probably won't hire a birth photographer but totally understand why people do. I would love to see pictures of what happened a few times then keep them somewhere private to occasionally reminisce.

What a great deal. My mom went garage sale-ing and got a really expensive diaper bag for $5. I need to start doing some garage sale-ing myself because I need two of everything just about. One for home and one for my sisters house, she is going to be watching the baby while I work so will need everything at her house too.
My random, I'm SO tired, DS is sick and has kept me up half the night. Glad tomorrow is at least Sunday and we aren't doing anything since he's sick so I can relax because I'm so not ready for the weekend to be over.
I slept in until 10:30 this morning. My friend messaged me to remind me to come and help her with her garage sale. As I'm helping someone down my friends death trap of a drive way (steep ass hill and all gravol) big shocker that I slip down the entire hill. Bruised my leg and ego. But I'm ok. Then come home and somehow manage to dip my hair in candle wax (don't even remember burning a candle) And then I found my deodorant in the freezer. So I think I'm done with today. Lol. Hope everyone else day is better.
Sunday's are a big breakfast at the firehouse. Eggs, sausage, pancakes, French toast, omlettes etc... I ate white castles and Oreos. Not sure how long I can hide my pregnancy from the guys.
I have been a night owl my whole life. I've had insomnia for over 15 years, used to take Ambien for it. Then I had a kid. Cured that right up. Before this pregnancy I regressed a bit, I was staying up until 2am and waking at 7am with DS.
Since I got pregnant I can't make it past 10pm. It's nice, but holy crap do I feel old when I'm hauling ass to bed and I look out the window and see my 20 something neighbors leaving for their night, all glammed up. Then I remember hangovers, overpriced drinks and the spins and I drift blissfully off to sleep.
@HomeyDontPlayThatThat was one of my favorite things about moving to the suburbs. All our neighbors are at least as old as we are, and our whole sleepy little town goes to bed at a reasonable hour. No more being woken up by a bunch of drunk bros stumbling through the alley next to my apartment at 3am singing "red solo cup"!
Also I'm glad your insomnia is better! I've never experienced that but it sounds awful.
I laid down for a "quick nap" yesterday at 5pm and woke up at 12:30 am. I ate some Chinese food and went back to bed. Slept till 7. I feel like a new person. But strangely I'm still a little tired.

DS fell asleep in the car a minute from home so now I'm sitting in the garage while DH has DD inside. But I'm starving! I really want to enjoy my downtime but all I can think about is food.
