Happiness Thread *Week of 4/3*

A place to post things that make you happy, what you are thankful for, or just to express any form of gratitude! 

Mine so far: Got to see the baby for the first time this week - what an incredible feeling!! I can't stop looking at the U/S pic & smiling.  
 
Woke up at 3AM to go pee for the 87th time & my groggy brain thought it was Sunday night/Monday morning & that I was going to have to be up in 3 hours for work, ugh. The realization that I was wrong & can actually sleep late made me so happy!

Still thrilled with my $2 garage sale, brand new maternity jeans find. Sometimes it's the little things!

    @duckmay lucky duck! I have never won anything, but I did find a gorgeous woven wrap on baby.steals.com for only $30! They do baby stuff at awesome discounts every day.

    @mrszoessMy FI thought maybe I would be upset to "share the spotlight" but I'm thrilled, plus our kids can be besties! Well at least they better be! My sister and I were pregnant at the same time, our daughters were born three weeks apart and they've been more like sisters than cousins their whole sixteen years of life. 
    Thats so cool your friend is so close to your date too!

    Hubby is willing to go for (vegetarian) sushi with me tomorrow.  He doesn't hate it but doesn't love it either, but I was craving it so I ordered some in last week and it was so good I can't wait to have more!

    I think this might be the first time ever I'm going to say I'm thankful for my next thing....but I'm thankful I have some extra cushion around the midsection (always have had it, which made me look pregnant before I ever was).  I accidentally hit the side of my stomach with my car door today.  Not sure how, I was getting something out of the back seat, moved away to close the door and just before the door made clearance with me, it jabbed me pretty hard in the side and it really hurt.  At first I got extremely considered for the baby, but then I remembered not only is it closer to my side but I also have a fair amount of extra cushion the impact would have to get through to hurt my peanut.  Granted I'm developing a bruise and I have to be extra careful but I'm not stressing out.

    I'm happy to be feeling (mostly) better, and that it seems like when I do get sick it's my body redirecting me toward healthier options (like learning the hard way that pan-fried pierogies are still on the no-fly list, haha). Also just still overwhelmed with how sweet our friends and family are, from kind check-ins to some sweet surprise treats in the mail! Everything just reassures me that even when the world feels overwhelming, this baby boy is coming into a huge family/extended friend family that is overflowing with love.

    @Kaessi the cake reveal went really well, we ended up using every electronic device in the house to make sure our close family were all on FaceTime for the reveal since they all live out of state. This was the cake I made with my oldest daughter.

    I have a baby sitter this weekend so even though we have obligations out of state, I get to sleep all night without putting a toddler back to bed 3 times or sharing all my food. I love the kid to death but momma needs some rest and time away from being climbed on.

    @Kaytee1087 all great news! 

    I'm so excited for DD and DH. Tonight the preschool is doing a dad's night. Kids and dads: Pizza and a magic show. DD is so excited about it. DH works so much. the girls haven't seen him with the exception of 30 minutes in the am. I think it's going to be a ton of fun and it makes me very happy that they can do this together. Plus: I can spend some one on one time with my youngest :)

    Got the call yesterday evening that our anatomy scan has been scheduled for May 26th! SO excited!! Plus my mom will be up from Florida she can come along. I'm getting excited that I'm almost into my second trimester and we will be finally announcing our pregnancy on Monday after our NT scan on Monday (if all goes well!) We will be doing the photos on Sunday. Now that I'm finally over the extreme, constant nausea, and feeling better, things are much more enjoyable and exciting.  :)

    I currently have a sealed envelope in my purse with the gender & it's driving me crazy!!! DH & I are treating ourselves to a "fancy" dinner tonight with friends & opening then. Can not wait!!

    Finally heard the baby's heartbeat on the doppler a bit ago! Was getting discouraged bc I've been trying for the past wk with no luck but decided on a whim to try again. So glad I did! <3
