Scalp Psoriasis and Infertility

I have had scalp psoriasis/dermatitis (two different dermatologists say different diagnoses) for about 2 years, and I have been using a Rx shampoo and solution.  I tried to take some time off that last year and try some essential oils or something more natural but nothing helped.  Today my Derm took me off everything because they are not healthy for pregnancy.  He also told me not to use the T-Sal shampoo I was using over the counter.  I have itchy, flaky, spots that crack and scab up.  Gross I know.  Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations  for infertility safe ways to keep my scalp from itching/hurting 24/7?  My Derm did not have any recommendations.

    Have you tried using coconut oil or apple cider vinegar? I've read in the past those are both good at home remedies. I've used banana peels for a spot I have on my foot in the past and that works great, although I'm not sure that is an option for you depending on how much of your scalp is covered.

    I agree on coconut oil. I had psoriasis when I was younger and then randomly got it on my ears, the skin on my ears was peeling off. The coconut oil really helped. If you shower in the morning melt some coconut oil, mix with water and rub it on your scalp. I would sleep with your hair in a bun or in a shower cap.

    Thank you both! I will definitely try the apple cider vinegar.  I have tried coconut oil and it really almost made it seem more itchy.  I have read that some skin types actually dry out with coconut oil and apparently I am one of the lucky ones!  And it covers the majority of my scalp so I'm not sure now I would even get banana peels around there :)

    I too have psoriasis (although nothing major on my scalp) I use a homemade coconut body scrub also.
