Standing up

She was laying down, crawled to the couch, and stood up. She doesn't even know how to sit up after laying down. We had to lower the crib a few days ago,  because she was getting close. Before she needed a little help though.

Re: Standing up

  • My baby boy started getting up these last few days!! I almost cry!! He stands so straight and firm. I have to be behind him watching and being careful what he grabs on to to stand!! Our babies are getting so big!!!

  • My little one is 9 months today, Thank God for my blessing! Will send pic over the weekend, he started walking around the the crib last weekend, had to move the mobile, he is grabbing everything in sight, and his newest thing of all is opening his drawers, so scary, I would hate for him to squeeze fingers.
  • LO pinches his fingers in drawers all the time. I can't keep him out. He'll learn eventually I hope. I've been asking dh to put some locks on them but I think they'll still open enough for LO to get his fingers in there.

@merryl79 how long after he started pulling himself up did he start walking while holding on? Right now she is still only pulling herself up. She is very wobbly and needs a hand to not fall. A lot of times she'll be holding on and let go or turn away from the couch. I really want her to start walking. She turns 9 months on the 17th.
  • Heeeey! He is not walking by himself, he holds on to stuff and walk, he holds unto  the crib rails and walk, but I think pretty soon he will be, I started walking at 9 months, but Ofcourse every child is different.

Lol. I meant walking while holding on. I wanted to know how long after he started pulling himself up did he start walking while still holding onto stuff.

I was a late walker. I didn't start until after I was 1. So I'm really impressed by her progress.
  • I would say a week, it seems like every week it's something new with him.
  • My little man has been pulling himself up and holding onto things for about a month now it came out of nowhere. He crawled up into my lap and used my shirt to pull himself to.hos feet in my lap when I was on the floor with him. Next day he pulled himself up using the outside of his walker and then tool a step up (it's one that has a base that runs all the way around it and is a 3 in 1 walker it was in the sit in mode). I couldn't believe it then two days later he was pulling himself up the couch or up and holding onto his exosaucer and then moved to the side holding onto it. The next night I had a laundry basket blocking him into our living room well a smaller part it's big lol and he climbed up lifted his leg and climbed in then climbed over the other side to go get his dad when he got home from work.  He's moving way too fast lol he gets this deteined look and is gone. He will be 9 months on the 10th and I'm sure will be walking within a month he's very close and is moving around furniture more I am still in shock he has figured out how to climb over all the obsticle already lol. I had his exo out and it's a bouncy one so has a bottom that's adjustable he climbed over that thing underneath and went about his day. I wish he'd slow down a bit but he won't he wants to walk so bad just needs a bit better balance and this momma is going to have to become a runner lol.

Lol it was, I stared at him with my mouth open in shock haha he's a little stinker I let him have the whole living room and blocked the kitchen off he figure out how to move the Rubbermaid I had in the way. They grow up so fast!

And Thank you he's more clever than me that's for sure haha :p
  • Oh how funny! I have fully threatened to buy one of those large play pens, I call them baby cages but LO is constantly getting into everything. He is trying to pull himself up on things right now, He hasn't even started fully crawling. it almost seems like he wants to skip it and go straight to walking.

Yay. She started walking while holding on today. I'm glad she isn't a lazy baby like I was. Lol.
