Just cut that tooth already!!!!

LO is driving me nuts with his teething. It seems to have been going on for months now. He's just so crabby - I basically have to entertain him every second of the day

  • Lol I think that's most babies no?

  • Omg yes us too!! It's been obvious for at least two months that he's working on a tooth but it isn't showing signs of coming out soon. My other two children cut teeth within a week of showing. Signs. This is so different for me. I know he's cranky from it.
Hopefukly they cut soon so they feel better!
  • Yes! Gah. It's like having a different baby. I feel bad for him. He's pulling on his jaw all the time and crying in pain. I obviously don't want to load him up on medicine all the time. I save that for when he's really upset. Gosh I just want it to end lol. The other I caught myself being thankful that I could take him to daycare. I felt like a terrible mother.
  • Same here- it's been a good 3 months of this now. I started giving tylonel some nights as she can't seem to relax. I also have been using the babyganics teething pods which work sometimes (clove oil) but it's major anxiety for me when nothing can be done!
  • Same here, sooo crabby like a different baby. Hyland's Baby homeopathic teething tabs have changed my life.
  • Our twins are both teething :( I purchased two of the amber necklaces, and should be here next week. I've got mixed reviews about them, but I'm willing to give it a try!

I don't understand the bolded.  I feel like crying in pain is reason enough to give pain relief medication.

It is but if he's anything like my 2.5 year old this crying in pain can go on for months. Our pediatrician told us at our 4 mo and 6 mo check ups and a sick visit at 7.5 months that he was going to get a tooth any day now, he finally got a tooth shortly before
nine months. He cried in pain and pulled on his jaw the whole time. I gave him Tylenol when it was really bad but if I had given him tylenol all the time for that period there would have been liver damage. You have to be present with the child daily to know what exactly warrant medication. It's hard to see them in pain but you can't over medicate. In terms of pain relief , it may be in my head but we did use a teething necklace with him and it seemed to help some.
  • My baby is majorly teething, as of today.  She just turned 6 months yesterday, I feel terrible! I ended up giving her Infant Motrin today, first time ever giving her medicine.  Seems to help.

Most of the above..most of my comment was erased..I suppose it was the emoji, but my baby is crazy lol.. every baby/family is different, but we try to keep him as cool and satisfied as humanly, and as necessarily as possible...to promote peace...without too many meds.
  • I can see one!! Finally one has broke through his gum!!!! He is very happy today, maybe that's why
