Looking to add one to my day since my Prenatal doesn't have it. I'd like to get a chewable since the big pills make me feel too nauseous going down and something that is a safe source for pregnancy obviously. Any recommendations? How much DHA should I aim for in one per day (some have 50, some 100, some 200, I'm clueless)? Thanks!
I haven't seen them in chewable unless they are a part of the prenatel chewy gummy. I actually take the First Response gummies with DHA and love it. I have a sensitive stomach and those don't bother me!
I also have a hard time taking pills. However, as far as DHA goes, I have been using Spectrum Essentials. It is 200 mg and comes in a relatively small oblong soft gel so it slides down a lot easier than your standard horse pill. Maybe it could still work for you? Also, no fishy burps since it is plant based.
I got a prenatal prescription for Concept DHA. It has every vitamin I need in a prenatal and what I need in omega 3 and DHA 300mg. Been taking it since the beginning and I'm now almost 36 weeks
ETA: I didn't mention it's one a day, with everything. I do get extra calcium from food though.
@purelex Thank you! I like that the source of these is algal oil since that seems to be a little safer and mercury free and honestly I figured all the pills would be huge so I might be able to actually get these down. Could you tell me about how big in comparison to say an Advil or Tylenol? Thanks!

Advil is ibuprofen vs Tylenol is acetaminophen.
Advil is a big no-no while pregnant. I haven't taken a single Tylenol since being pregnant though, but if I absolutely had to, I would. But I stayed medicine-free during whole first trimester.
Double check with your OB before starting a supplement. ALWAYS check if you're unsure of anything, especially in the 1st trimester. I'm anemic naturally, and I wanted to take an additional iron supplement, but my OB advised me not to, even though the iron in my prenatal wasn't any higher than the iron supp I was taking pre-pregnancy. Even simple things like vitamin C/D and calcium, always check with your dr.
I take these, there mini size. I can't even handle my traditional prenatals right now and I can take this. The trick is to take it with soda, fizzy water or orange juice. Water makes it all so much worse. Sometimes the time of day makes a difference too.
Look at vitafusin prenatal gummies. They have fish oils and dha. Only bad thing I see is no iron. I'll be switching back to my normal pills as soon as I can handle it.

I wonder if it makes a difference as to the source? (Tuna, etc.) my doctor didn't seem to act like it does. Anyone taking one made from Tuna?
