Unless medically necessary I don't think induction should be an option until you hit 40 weeks. There is no point, and there is a reason our bodies are supposed to go 40 weeks and not 37.
I don't want to go into labor. Of course I'm ready to be done with pregnancy but I had a scheduled c-section with DS and have a RCS scheduled for 39+3. Never went into labor last time and REALLY REALLY have no desire to this time.
I am really nervous about having a c-section. With this little one measuring big it's a conversation at 38+ weeks I've had with my dr. I know I should be calm and relaxed because work will give me an extra two weeks paid, but I am scared about being cut open and the recovery.
DH and I have decided to not tell anyone about LO until he has been delivered. I want to be calm and the least stressed possible. Since we are going with a section there will be about 3 hours (prep, surgery, recovery room, then PP room) before anyone can actually see us. Needless to say my mom isn't happy with it. If he stays put till our scheduled date we won't be seeing anyone until the next day (scheduled for afternoon and limited visiting hours). Once again my mom isn't happy about it. She probably won't be happy when I tell her no kissing LO for the first few days. Why do grandparents have to make this all about them? She went from calling me every day to no calls since Saturday.
Ever since someone metioned in the randoms thread how generic the "we are so in love," and "nursing like a champ" looks, I pay more close attention to it and see that it's actually on the majority of the birth announcements. It's like the thing that pops out the most in future posts.
@Ready4theParty it's a stressful decision! I was far from calm and relaxed about it last time. It's very nerve-wracking to think of major surgery and recovery while learning to raise a new LO. But for me as soon as he was out (even before I was stitched up) I was over the nerves. Good luck and scheduled c-sections, I believe, aren't nearly as taxing on the body as one who has labored for hours then had one. (Solely based on mine was scheduled and I had multiple friends labor for varying lengths of time then have one with vastly different experiences)

In mine I'm going to say, "I like him alright and his nursing skills are mediocre."

And they suggested commenting on the length of your baby's toes (and I totally agree that interesting facts about the baby would be neat!) but ever since then I've been vaguely grossed out by the image of a baby with MONSTER LONG TOES.

I've been having the same conversation with my mom too. After I told her that we probably won't call anyone until we have her, she kept telling me what she wants which is to be in the waiting room while I'm in labor. Why does everyone think this is about them?!?!

Why do they want to wait for hours? I don't get it.
My UO: I do not understand the idea behind seasonal nails. I got dark purple polish on my toes last weekend and the girl beside me asked why I am going with fall/winter colors.
Um..I'm going with purple, because I like purple. The toes in question:
I wish it would start pouring rain again instead of all this sun and warm weather we've been having this week in Oregon so I can lay under the covers all day guilt free. And that is an UO in the Pacific Northwest! I'm suppose to be enjoying this sun!

I don't think this is a UO at all. Anyone who is not scared of having major surgery is totally freakin' nuts.
The first time around I wasn't too worried, whatever happens happens but now I am irrationally freaked. Maybe because this is a very real possibility and I know what's coming.

I am in Oregon as well. Seriously, it's way too early for weather in the 80s. I only like the sun if it's like 60 degrees because otherwise it's too hot. Damn you, climate change!

Seriously! Our best friends want to do this because "it's fun!" We did it for them and no, it was not fun and we won't be playing the waiting game all night again.
