what works for you? what's the best one to shorten the length and intensity of periods? having a hard time regulating my cycle after my son's birth. I've bled about 14 of the last 19 weeks. I need this to stop. I'm having 2+ week long periods. I'm so tired of bleeding. I'm considering birth control for the first time in my life because of this. Please let me know your thoughts.

Me: 35, healthy

DH: 35, male IF

Married 6 years on Feb  27th 2016. TTC since we got married.

Were going to go the adoption route, but decided to try IVF with donor embryos once or twice.

After 5 years of waiting, hoping, researching, doctors, etc we tried the procedure.

DS was born on 11-24-15!!

    I'm on the mini pill right now due to breastfeeding, and was on the regular pill prior to my pregnancy. With the regular pill it regulated my cycle wonderfully. Honestly, I loved it and the predictability it gave me. Also, it had the added benefit of shorter and lighter periods than my usual. 

    I can't really speak for the mini pill in regards to its impact on my cycle as I still haven't had a period since baby.

    I spotted for about 2 months with the Mirena IUD (pretty light for the most part - wouldn't even soak a pantiliner most days) and since then I haven't bled. I think I'm technically having my period now, but by period I mean a dot of blood each day for the last 2 days.

    I had the mirena inserted when LO was 12 weeks. I spotted for 3 weeks and have had no bleeding what so ever since (LO is 21 weeks). My best friend hasn't had a period in 2 years with her mirena! 
    Insertion was very uncomfortable for me but I think it is going to be worth it. I can't remember to take 'the pill' and it makes me very ragey/aggressive so mirena has been a great option for me so far.

    Just got mirena today so not much to report other than cramping. I still haven't gotten my period because of bf. Can't imagine bleeding for two weeks straight. Hope you find something that works for you.

    I have mirena and I'm EBFing so no period yet. Mirena insertion was awful for me as was the pain for a few days after, but after that it's been great. I have no idea it's even there.

    I am on the mini pill bc I am still breastfeeding.  After that, I will be going back to the regular pill.
    I have not gotten a period since LO was born.
