Prometrium Suppositories

Hey ladies. So I'm on 800mcg a day (400mcg twice a day).
I did some googling and seems like a lot of other women are on either 1-200mcg a day or 2-200mcg a day, making me feel like my dosage is high.
I don't remember what I was on the first time, but wanted to get a sense of what others were on and whether this is a "normal" dosage...

Also (more importantly) do you have a significant amount of discharge? I feel like none of it is getting absorbed... it that perhaps because I have excess of what I need?

Ugh these are certainly my least favorite part of the cycles!! I am on two 200mg suppositories per day. I am not able to say whether or not your dosage is high, but I do know mine is just for "extra support" as my re said my lining has always looked perfect.

I I have a good amount of discharge with the suppositories. I made this rule up on my own (and it may be completely nonsensical lol) but I don't use the bathroom for at least 2 hours after I insert it. I notice that a TON was coming out in the toilet and I want to make sure I'm getting some benefit from it. Otherwise, I wear panty liners and just assume it's working the way it should.

Not it sure how helpful this was. Lol.

@oxinfree I was thinking about this earlier today-I think I've pretty consistently been nauseous since we started treatments. Probably a combination of meds and stress. I realized this earlier today after I was thinking to myself that it was weird that I was so nauseous...and then I real talked to myself and acknowledged that I am pretty much always nauseated. Lol. It's hard for me to say what is actually causing it. I do remember my nurse telling me that nausea is a side effect of prometrium but that people typically have fewer side effects overall with the suppositories than the oral pill.

I often find myself wishing my re communicated a little more to me about what is going on in general. I feel like they expect you to just ask questions (and don't get me wrong my re is excellent at answering them) but it seems like they don't take into account how overwhelming all of this is and I honestly don't even know what all I should be asking most of the time. The point of this is that I sorta feel like someone should let you know if there's a problem with your lining--you shouldn't have to accidentally discover that it might be a problem and then ask!! Frustrating.

@srh18 - ya 2 seems to be the norm. Maybe he's concerned about my lining, I dunno. I just didn't realize my dosage until I started them, and couldn't recall my past cycles.

I'm glad you also have a good amount of discharge going on. I too try and avoid using the washroom for a while after as well, but I do the night ones right before bed so that's a non-issue.

Do yours make you a little nauseous at all? Maybe its my dosage but I'm just curious...

@srh18 - that's what I've been feeling too. In Canada on my first 2 rounds they were way more supportive through the process, in the states I've found, although more thorough and willing to do more, they expect you to know/handle your own cycle/protocol/meds etc. etc. etc.. I might email and ask, but like you said, I shouldn't have to... this is something they should have told me was a concern. Thanks so much for your support.
