We talked about it in another thread, and I'm going to make this a weekly thing... Even if I'm being an AW and I'm the only one that posts in it, it helps keep me accountable!!!

  • How have your workouts been?  What did you do this past week?  Overall, not great.  I only ran on Monday and then between weather and stuff I wasn't able to get out again.  I ran 3 miles Monday.  However, we did a 10k on Sunday and even though I couldn't walk properly the rest of the day, I felt really really good about myself! (Still do.)

    What are your goals for this week?  I want to make sure to get out and run at least 3 times, hopefully more.  I also want to try to get DD out for walks in the stroller if she'll tolerate it.  She likes riding while we run, but walking is a bit too slow and she would rather do it herself.

    Noticing any pain or need for modifications? My hips are starting to get sore after running. I had this with my last pregnancy but it never got that bad. I think its the "relaxin" taking over to loosen me up for delivery.

    GTKY:  Favorite junk food indulgence?  Any trick you've found to make it "healthy-ish"?  Um, all of it.  We ate a huge pizza and cheese sticks from Pizza Hut yesterday after the race.  It was amazing and I regret nothing.  I try to make our own most of the time tho, I use sugar free organic sauce, and add some veggies to make it a little better (at least in my mind.)  My other favorite junk is ice cream.  I refuse to try to make it healthier.

  • How have your workouts been?  What did you do this past week?
    They are going ok, I lifted weights twice? Last week. It's amazing how pre pregnancy I was so dedicated 4-5 days a week and now I'm like meh. Lol. 

    What are your goals for this week? To get in the gym minimum 3 days, hopefully 4.

    Noticing any pain or need for modifications? I'm mostly doing dumbbell stuff now as a lot of things with the bar feel funny to me.

    hmm well this pregnancy I've loved hot Cheetos. No clue why!! Pre pregnancy I loved ice cream. I've made healthier versions and smoothies that will do the trick but sometimes you need the real deal!
  • How have your workouts been?  What did you do this past week?  Workouts are going well, still sticking to walking since the first tri cut out any running progress I had made.  Between walking on the treadmill, free weight routines from my trainer and prenatal yoga it was an active week!  Plus, the weather was gorgeous yesterday and we walked the golf course next to our house for 45 minutes.  So many hills!

    What are your goals for this week?  This morning's workout was cut short due to a small critter making itself known in the ceiling of our basement.  So, will just be doing the weights and walking workouts I had planned and hopefully getting a prenatal yoga at home in addition to the Saturday one I have started attending.  I love going to the class, it is so empowering and the instructors are amazing!

    GTKY:  Favorite junk food indulgence?  Any trick you've found to make it "healthy-ish"?  This pregnancy sweets have not been my favorite and since I love Cadbury Mini Egg season, that was disappointing.  Yet, ice cream is what I crave after dinner and before bed.  I've been putting lots of fruit on it...and then chocolate syrup.

  • How have your workouts been?  What did you do this past week?

    only ok. I am now only making it to the gym about 2xweek. I've been lifting but now anything with the bar is difficult as my belly gets in the way. Squats are still ok. Lunges and deadlifts are trickier. Cardio is so difficult as I find it impossible to catch my breath. Anyone else have this? I can still do the rowing machine but at a much lower pace. 

    What are your goals for this week?
    To make it twice to the gym!

    Noticing any pain or need for modifications?
    Ive had to modify lift position because any bending or squatting interferes with belly. It's pretty awkward. 

    Questions?
    im thinking of stopping lifting by the time I'm 7months. Anyone else have a end date for gym routine? It's just starting to get so hard!

    sugar has been a problem! I never us a sweet tooth before but now I feel the urge for sugar after every meal! Doh!

    I'm super out of breath!! It doesn't take much for me to become out of breath now. I feel so out of shape lol
  • How have your workouts been?  What did you do this past week? My workouts have been about the same. I'm doing a combo of running, reformer pilates, BBG, and 21 day fix extreme. I try to workout 5 days a week and take two rest days. 

    What are your goals for this week? 5 days a week. I did 21 day fix legs on Monday, ran yesterday, and did pilates this morning. I'm trying a new boot camp on Friday. We'll see how that goes! I also started a separate Instagram for fitness stuff only to help keep me accountable. 

    Noticing any pain or need for modifications? Baby is riding low, so it feels like I need to pee every 5 minutes when I'm running. Other than that, still pain free.

    GTKY:  Favorite junk food indulgence?  Any trick you've found to make it "healthy-ish"? Salty things. I want a sausage biscuit with egg and cheese every morning for breakfast. Most days I just eat oatmeal, but today I gave in and it was incredible! I got it from the deli at work, so there was no way to make it healthy. I will make it at home using an english muffin, turkey sausage and egg whites though.

  • How have your workouts been?  What did you do this past week?  
    Could be better but I'm happy with them. Biked 45 kms, walked for a total of 3.5 hrs.

    What are your goals for this week?
    Same thing as last week but bike a minimum of 50 kms and to continue with my strength and endurance, which I have been slacking in. My muscles are crap for endurance and I really need to get that up there. I need to stop sewing and making nursery things instead of working out, lol. 

    Noticing any pain or need for modifications?
    My tail bone hurts after biking, but it hurts no matter what after sitting for too long. I am out of breath faster but I monitor my heart rate so I'm not worried, I'm sure my asthma makes it worse especially since I won't use my inhaler.

    How are you all working your core? I normally do crunches in a variety of positions and using a balance ball but I've been to chicken to do anything.

    All of the junk food. Chocolate I substitute with rice krispie squares and I add 1/4 cup of chocolate to it, better than a chocolate bar. Chips, I do popcorn the old fashion way on the stove, spray with Pam for less calories and to still get that buttery taste. 

  • @LWC1112 Now all I can think about is a breakfast sandwich! There is a deli near my office that has amazing ones.  The yogurt and fruit smoothie I just ate doesn't seem sufficient any longer...

    @michelle_shelle I've been doing a lot of planks and can still do russian twists with a medicine ball, for now!

  • @mmclark10 thank you! Planks would help my arms also, I have no idea how I'm going to carry the baby and the car seat at the same time. 
  • @mmclark10 I'll be having a smoothie and yogurt for lunch to help balance out this morning's breakfast. I just couldn't handle the sweetness this morning. But gosh I wish that sandwich was twice the size it was. It was so delicious... I could have eaten two.

  • @michelle_shelle I do lots of tricep push ups with my prenatal yoga and it helps! Car seats are heavy, but you definitely get used to it and your strength grows as they do!

  • How have you workouts been? What did you do this past week?
    Last week was a bust as far as workouts, but the weeks before that had been good.
    What are you goals for this week?
    I ran last night for 20 mins on the dreadmill, I plan on going to the gym with my husband tonight to swim( I bought a maternity tankini, the bottoms were too big so I have to squeeze into some old non- matching ones for the night but who cares) then running tomorrow and yoga friday morning.
    Noticing any pain or need for modifications?
    My hips hurt a bit from running in shorts that were too tight. I had to cut the run short because I just felt like I was hog tied.

    @michelle_shelle I've actually read that you aren't supposed to do actual ab work like crunches planks etc as it increases risk of diastasis recti. Granted idk the actual risk but it's what I've found when I researched online. So I haven't been doing any.. But I'm trying to find out which exercises if any are good! 
  • How have your workouts been? 
    Good- same as the past few weeks.  Lots of walks with the pup and me and DH fast walk 1.5 miles plus weights each night after he gets home from work.

    Goals this week?
    Keep a positive outlook and break a sweat each day.  Oh, also, get in the pool at the gym to swim! My friend goes every morning and always asks me to join her but, I haven't felt motivated for some reason. 

     No pain thank goodness. 

    Favorite junk food?  Well, I have a sweet tooth and need a little dessert after dinner each night.  I eat fruit mostly and will add some sugar free pudding, a little cookie or something else to satisfy that.  

    My hubby invented the most amazing treat ever and I strongly recommend trying it for yourself (I was against it at first but now I'm obsessed) - ok cut a cantelope in half, clean out the seeds and then add a scoop (or 2 lol) of vanilla ice cream in the middle.  Use the spoon to carve out the cantelope with the ice cream.  Omg soooo good!! 
  • How have your workouts been?  What did you do this past week? Still going well, going 3x a week to my 60 min barre classes. 

    What are your goals for this week? To eat healthier, I make good choices then I'll eat some cookies :neutral: 

    Noticing any pain or need for modifications? No pain, but this week I have noticed my workouts have been hard for me, taking a lot of breaks. Ab work is getting awkward because of the belly but I will start modifying next week per the studio/gym rules. Still doing planks though.

    GTKY:  Favorite junk food indulgence?  Any trick you've found to make it "healthy-ish"? I am craving sweets with this pregnancy and I try to reach for fruit or yogurt first but some nights I need frozen yogurt with all the toppings!

  • @squishy0511 My OB in my first pregnancy recommended doing ab work, but said to avoid those moves that have you lie on your back.  It actually seems counter-intuitive to me that doing ab work (to strengthen those muscles) increases the chance of diastasis recti.  I'd check with your provider if you are really concerned about the risk.

    @mmclark10 my ob told me the same thing as yours about no exercises on my back but he also said no crunches. However  he didn't mention planks so I may try those and see how they feel! I found this website yesterday  with some interesting pregnancy core exercises so I might try these too. I'll have to see if I can find some actual research about ab work and DR because I'm not totally sure if it's true! I can't even remember where I read it as it was a while back so I could be wrong.

  • Just dropping by to give you ladies doing hardcore workouts a big thumbs up.  I've been consistently taking the admittedly slow dachshund fur-child for daily half hour walks for the last 3 months, and a couple weeks ago decided to try running again.  It was awful... my whole body hurt during the run, the next two days I still ached, and I promptly developed an ugly head cold for about a week.  Since then, walks it is.  I am trading in the leisurely walks with the dog for brisk walks so far twice a week, so that's something.  You ladies that run throughout pregnancy... you are my heroes!!!

  • How have your workouts been?  What did you do this past week? This week has been ehh. Went to prenatal yoga clas on Monday which was good. Worked long days Tuesday and Wednesday, yesterday walked for an hour and today I'm going to do yoga again. Didn't get as much in as I would like.

    What are your goals for this week? They were to have one more workout but that's not going to happen.

    Noticing any pain or need for modifications? I was not able to do upward dog in yoga, I blame the two babies... And my back hurt when walking. I also went to the chiro already this week.
