What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): My next midwife appointment is at 24 weeks, so I'm looking forward to that!

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I am having a ton of trouble breathing lately, so that sucks. I also feel kind of guilty right now because my DH has been working sooo hard on stuff around the house (fixing up my daughter's new room, building furniture, etc.) and while I've tried to help, I feel like I'm not contributing as much as I should.

    Questions?

GTKY: What's your favourite season? It's always been Spring, but I think now that both of my kids will be in school starting in August, Summer might become my favorite just because I'll be able to take random days off to hang out with them, and I'll get to see them have fun with camps and summer sports and things like that.

  • @lgem4 I'm glad there are a lot of positive things going on right now to put your mind and anxiety at ease. I just wanted to say that DH and I also just got our first brand new grill and I am also SUPER pumped to start using it! He finished putting it together last night and we're grilling hot dogs for dinner tonight.
@Fremdschamen Have a safe and relaxing flight! I hope it all goes off without a hitch and that your week goes fast. It's not easy traveling for work away from your kids; I hated it when I was traveling every other week last year.

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): Just had my anatomy scan on Friday, and little man was too busy to cooperate. We were in with the tech for almost an hour trying to get measurements. I am SOOO happy he looked perfect and was so active. Such a huge relief.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I want In N Out really, really, really bad. There aren't any in CO so I am seriously considering a road trip next weekend, though doubtful I can wait that long.

    Questions?

GTKY: What's your favourite season? Fall. I love that is isn't too cold yet, but the leaves are falling and the weather is cooling off. I am one of those girls who grew up in the mountains so I prefer the cold.

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):
OB appt on the 14th. Hospital tour on the 24th!

    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
I bought some baby clothes at the resale shop this weekend--it feels really exciting to wash them up and have a few things. I also went to my 2nd prenatal yoga class on Saturday and I'm really liking it which is awesome. I'm the least far along but I like the mental aspect a lot that the instructor incorporates.

    GTKY: What's your favourite season?
it used to be spring, which I still like with all the green and flowers blooming but summer is amazing in the pacific NW.

@Fremdschamen I hope you at least get great food while you are there! I'm jealous of people going to big cities at this point and having exciting food

@lgem4 enjoy the grill! Hope the check helps with the anxiety this next little while.

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): We have our housewarming party on Friday and then I feel like I can breathe a little and just focus on getting the nursery started. We moved the end of February and I've hardly had time to even think about the nursery. Anxious to get it started.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Just more and more emotional every day over how big DD seems and how fast this pregnancy has gone. I feel like time isn't cutting me any deals at the moment.

    Questions?

GTKY: What's your favourite season? Fall! Love love love it! However, we are in Texas so the past year wasn't much of a fall at all. Hoping this year will be better. But it's been so hot already I'm thinking it won't be!
  • Weeks: 20 today! Happy halfway!

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): Anatomy scan on Thursday. Really nervous and excited to see baby again since we haven't seen him since 13 weeks.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Rant: everything stinks to me right now. The dogs, DH, even DS. Our house smells like something died in it. DH thinks I'm nuts.

    Questions?

GTKY: What's your favourite season? Summer! As @ramoseecology noted, summers are beautiful in the PNW. I think it's our reward for putting up with 9 months of rain. However, our historically mild summers have been HOT the last couple years (and no one has a/c here) and things are looking like they may be hot again this summer. I told DH we need to get a/c for the bedroom if I'm going to survive another hot summer while pregnant!

@lgem4 - thinking of you this next week! Milestones are hard.

    Just keep swimming.
  • @bananers we have one of those portable AC units that you vent out a window--it works great for cooling a room (we roll it between the bedroom and living room). Something to think about if it's really hot again for a stretch.

I'm also hoping to hit the pool/river a ton if it's warm again this year.

  • @bananers @ramoseecology I am a bit nervous about our hot NE summers. I remember my friends that had August babies had swollen feet, ankles and legs and it is not like you are going to wear compression tights in the summer.  I told my DH that he can find me in my underwear in the pool.

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): Anatomy scan today, super nervous and excited!

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I had a terrible day yesterday- made coffee at home and apparently it was stronger than I've been used to during this pregnancy. It made me feel like my chest was caving in all day just like a panic attack, and I'm already struggling with breathing. It made me so worried that I didn't even notice if baby boy had moved at all during the day. So of course PGAL brain took over and I turned into a puddle of tears when I got home. My dh suggested I try out the doppler, and luckily I could hear a strong heartbeat and movement. I think it was the first time in weeks PGAL brain has been around, and I hated how quickly it took over :( I'm so thankful to have our scan today, but now I'm more nervous than I was a day ago.

Questions? Anything I should ask about at my anatomy scan today?

GTKY: What's your favourite season? Fall- I love the temperature, the colors, the leaves, the smells!

  • @allishally13 I hope your scan goes fantastic!  I didn't ask any questions specifically, the tech just pointed things out (heart, stomach, etc) and I asked clarifying questions. Except I did ask where my placenta was located. They can also tell you measurements (weight, length).

  • @Katienu You're in Nebraska too!? That's where I'm at and I'm with you - I am so not looking forward to the super hot/humid summer ahead!

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): regular check up and a follow up to my anatomy scan (needed better pictures of his face) next Wednesday.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: found out yesterday I have to get the lump in my breast removed in 2 weeks. It's not cancerous but it can grow rapidly so they want to remove it during my 2nd tri so it won't interfere with breastfeeding.  I know it's totally routine, but it still sucks and I'm dreading the whole process.

Positive vibes to all, especially @lgem4 for getting through your loss milestone. I'm sure this next week will be tough, but hopefully you will find some peace once you get through it.

    Questions?

GTKY: What's your favourite season? Fall, I live in CT so it's incredibly beautiful here during that time, I love the sweater weather, and it's when my birthday is :)

  • @1faceinacrowd I am in New England - Boston more specifically.  I should know have know that it was the same abbreviation!  I gets wicked hot here in the summer...but it snowed 6 inches yesterday so you know!
  • @Katienu That's funny - I didn't even realize they had the same abbreviation. 6 inches of snow?!? THAT sounds like Nebraska weather! lol. The big joke here is that we need air conditioning, heat, snow boots, umbrellas, and swimsuits all within 24 hours. And it's so true.

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):
We have an appointment on the 25th. She is also kicking up a storm. DS got to feel her kick today! I was more excited than he was. :D

    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
I'm on day 2 of a stomach virus. I'm miserable!

    Questions?

    GTKY: What's your favourite season?
I love all of the seasons. Summer is best while pregnant. I'm tired of these freeze warnings and am ready for dresses and flip flops!
  • Weeks: 20 w 5 d

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): looking forward to baby kicks getting stronger so my H can feel it too. I can really feel the movement inside.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Positive thoughts to everyone, that PGAL brain sneaks up on me every now and then. I'm super thankful for my Doppler especially since we won't be seeing baby for at least 4 more weeks.

    Questions?

GTKY: What's your favourite season? Summer because I'm a teacher and 3 months away from perpetually hormonal teenagers can make all weather amazing! Less than 7 weeks left!
  • @ramoseecology

Our anatomy scan turned out really well, thank goodness! He was kicking and punching and measuring almost a week ahead. So thankful!

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):  glucose test coming up.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: It has been a rough week.  Last Friday I had not felt movement for s few days, my OB office nurse line sent me to L&D for fetal monitoring, all good with baby but I has a blood pressure spike, so they monitored that for a while and we have been monitoring at home. Then today I nearly fainted while teaching -I saw spots and the room was getting dark... sitting down helped. I was dehydrated and iverheating, it was scary.

Questions?  Anyone else experiencing a return of symptoms? My nausea/food a versions are back and now dizziness.

GTKY: What's your favourite season?  Depends where I am. Here in California,  spring. Back east, fall.
