Re: Tuesday ticker change : 4/5

  • Week: 8!! For some reason, multiples of 4 seem like very substantial milestones to me.

What's new with baby (size, development): No idea.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Not really anything.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: just very very tired and very very nauseous.

When is your next appointment: 4/29. Although I have to schedule the first tri screening too, which may end up being before that.

GTKY: What was your first job? Any funny stories from it?
My first job was a cashier at Winn Dixie (grocery chain). I don't really have any especially funny stories. The baggers would always play a game where they'd try to find the least healthy food in the store. For a while, the bagged who found the fried pork rinds was in the lead, but then someone found that we sold blocks of solid lard. That one was impossible to top.

  • Week: 6

What's new with baby (size, development): I read the bump thing, but don't remember much other than size of a sweet pea.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby:
Not sure if this really qualifies but I unexpectedly told someone at work I'm pregnant today. After being suspicious for weeks, I overheard someone else congratulate her on her pregnancy and when I went to do the same, it just kinda slipped out. We had a nice chat and hopefully there will be many more. Still feels weird to have said something so early. I'm not planning on telling and friends or family for a long while.

    Rant/rave/symptoms/questions:
Nausea has kicked my ass the last few mornings but it's more managable during the rest of the day.

    When is your next appointment:
    4/15.

GTKY: What was your first job? Any funny stories from it?
Movie theater. No specific stories come to mind but it was a lot of fun.
  • Week 8! Don't remember what that corresponds to.

We've told family, but will wait until 2nd tri to tell friends/coworkers/etc. I don't know that we'll do much else for a while.

Yesterday I was feeling much better but today I'm back to nauseous. I know I need to eat but nothing sounds good.

Next appointment not until end of April.

My first job was as an audience plant for a magic show. It was fun and very random, but I'm a terrible actress so it didn't last long.
  • Week:

What's new with baby (size, development): size of a jelly bean! baby's arms and legs are moving and taste buds are forming.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: moving into a new house in a week. I haven't started packing yet..... so nothing for the baby until that's done.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: Nausea/vomiting all day every day, and I'm just so tired. Also really anxious about moving and costs associated with that.

When is your next appointment: April 25. I can't wait to see our little peanut again!

GTKY: What was your first job? Any funny stories from it? I worked at a dry cleaners. It was perfect since it was right in our village center, so I would see all my friends when they'd stop by at the market to pick up things for their parents, and it taught me a lot of responsibility. I also went through a lot of gloves from sorting through clothes.

  • I'm moving over from Wednesday. I had an appointment with my OB today and she is establishing my due date as 11/1/15 based off of my dating u/s.

    Week: 10

What's new with baby (size, development): Prune

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Lots of reading, not much else right now.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: It seems my nausea and throwing up have subsided. I really just have bloating and constipation right now.

When is your next appointment: I have blood work later this week and my NT u/s is on 4/19.

GTKY: What was your first job? Any funny stories from it? My parents own two private assisted living facilities. My first job was working in the kitchen at 14 as a dietary aide (my brothers both did too). A lot of interesting things can happen when you work with patients that have Alzheimer's. It was a good first job that taught me patience and responsibility.

Nausea and exhaustion are getting worse but I'm not sure if the exhaustion is the pregnancy or the fact that my DD has decided she only needs to sleep in 3hr increments...

My first appointment is April 18th. Hopefully these next two weeks go by quickly.

GTKY: What was your first job? Any funny stories from it?

When is your next appointment: 4/27

GTKY: What was your first job? Any funny stories from it? I was one of those ladies who handed out samples & couples at grocery stores lol. It was hilarious cause I was only 15 and I've only ever seen old ladies in that job. One time I had to do a demo on ice cream and it was a melty, sticky nightmare. It got all over everything.

  • Week: 7

What's new with baby (size, development): size of a dice

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: not a whole lot yet, but trying to get my DS off of his bottle this week; mildly entertaining the idea of potty training

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: nausea unless I eat all of the carbs :(

When is your next appointment: first appt is April 14, 9 more days

GTKY: What was your first job? Any funny stories from it? I answered the phones at a local pizza place, I was 15, on my first day I passed out cold and they had to call my mom to pick me up. I ended up working there for 4 years and they never let me forget it.

  • Week:
    Ten!!

Baby H is the size of a Lego man! Organs are fully developed and starting to function!

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby:
Right now.. Trying to buy a house!

    Rant/rave/symptoms/questions:
A lot of discomfort since last night. A constant pinching in my right side. It's worrying me a lot. It's not crippling me but almost takes my breath away when it hits. One or my good friends is a GP so I've contacted her she said if it doesn't stop to head to a dr or hospital tomorrow.

    When is your next appointment:
April 21. Hopefully with no reason to go in early.

GTKY: What was your first job? Any funny stories from it?

my dad used to own a gas station so I was helping out for ever. He used to pay me 2$ an hour to sit there and turn the pumps on and off. When I was old enough he put me on payroll. Not an exciting job but decent pay and perks being the bosses daughter!

  • Week: 10..... It's moving along.

What's new with baby (size, development): Cardinal tetra fish (same fish that were our first pet together)

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: not too much this week.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions:  Diclegis!  My husband was the one that let my OB know my all day sickness was so bad.  I honestly was just going to keep dealing with it but I'm glad he said something.  I actually managed two meals today thanks to that wonderful drug.

Also, took out the Doppler today just to see if maybe we could find the heartbeat..... Sure enough we did!
When is your next appointment: NT scan on the 20th.

GTKY: What was your first job? Any funny stories from it? Like someone else I saw I too worked in a nursing home for my first job.  I was 15-1/2 and worked with the residents and did a variety of things.
  • Wow @EmmieAnn22 - how exciting to find the heartbeat yourself!
  • Ya'll had some pretty cool first jobs!

Week: 8!! Just a few more wks of first tri!

What's new with baby (size, development): Baby is the size of a raspberry and is developing taste buds!

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: We signed a contract to start building a house!!

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I've been feeling anxious all the time. I hate the feeling and I'm not really sure if its pregnancy related or not. Other than that hungry all the time and tired.

When is your next appointment: First apt and ultrasound is April 13 (one week from today!!!!)

GTKY: What was your first job? Any funny stories from it? I worked at a video/book store (Hastings). I was a Senior in HS and met my prom date at work! He was a college guy and I thought I was soooo cool, lol.

  • Week 6.  Still super small.

This is baby no. 2 so right now it is looking bleak for chickadee.  All the hand-me downs from big brother!  DH and I are going to try a look at new daycares on Friday.  LO is currently by my office but I want to switch to one near our home (we moved in August) so that the kids will be in "school" with children they will go to school with through elementary and high school.

Most of the time other than extreme and constant exhaustion (with some insomnia thrown in for good measure) I don't fell pregnant.  But my hair has been super oily lately so I guess my hormones are still out of control thanks to being ktfu.

    Appointment is 20th.

I was a lifeguard from the time I was 15 until 23. My parents were so relieved when I got a "real" job.

    Week: 7

What's new with baby (size, development): baby blueberry! Getting hands and feet according to the app

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: DH and I have started a google doc to keep track of names we hear that we like. So far, we could not be on further ends of the spectrum.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: Pregnancy aside, I'm prone to nausea and vomitting.  This morning (which is actually every day all day) sickness is killing me.  I can't keep anything down and  my fridge is busting at the seams with leftovers from eating one bit of something and not being able to get further.  Because  of all the vomitting, my acid reflux is also out of control.  Any advice?

When is your next appointment: 4/25 for first appointment and doppler for heartbeat. Could not feel further away.

GTKY: What was your first job? Any funny stories from it? I was a function waitress when I was 15.  My mom was my boss, and it was so weird.  I do not recommend this.
  • @StephanieLCarty My doc told me if I'm vomitting more than once a day to let them know.  I wasn't vomitting but had no appetite and couldn't even think about food without dry heaving.  My doctor put me one Diclegis (I thinks that's spelled right).  I'm only a couple days in but my appetite is much improved.  I would ask your doctor what they feel is best for you to combat your morning sickness.
