What is everyone registering for? I have heard pros and cons of all but I would like to decide on one. Maybe the playards/ pac-n-play so you can use them later??? Help...awww! Thanks
We're not having the baby sleep in our room. If we were, it would be in a pack n play so it could be used in other places. We're game for multipurpose things b/c they take up less space than having a bunch of different things.?
We're moving 2 months after the baby is born, so we are using a pack n play for our son's bed and changing table. Once we are in our new location, then we are going to buy nursery furniture and just use the pack n play as a changing table/play pen in the family room.
We're getting a pack n play or a travel lite crib with a bassinet - baby will sleep in our room to begin with and we'll also take the pnp with us when we go visit family in Seattle later that summer - later on it can be a play pen
We're getting the pnp to set up in our room for the first little while (most likely) while we're breastfeeding so I don't have to get all the way up and walk to her room every time she needs fed. I also wake not as easily and DH will be working still so if she's right there I may wake up faster. I dunno... just a weird thought. LOL
We purchased a bassinet with a basket that can be taken out. That way, if the baby is sleeping and we're headed to a different room, we can just carry the basket.

Things I did different with this pregnancy:
1. Waited TTC until after I had 3 normal menstrual cycles.
2. Got a new OB - amazing man who listened!
3. 200 mg progesterone until 12 weeks
4. Daily lovenox injections
i got the graco pack n play in deco also. it's very cute. he will sleep in there for a little while in our room. once he is in his crib the pnp can go downstairs.
Last time, we had a bassinet (family heirloom) and a pack n play (w/ bassinet feature). We rarely used the pack n play. I leave it at my parents' house for naptimes over there, and we've taken it camping. It's pretty big. We used the bassinet for 4 months (although the first month we coslept) until we moved him to his crib in his own room.
This time, we bought an Arms Reach Mini Cosleeper (off Craigslist) because I didn't like using the bassinet. DS would wake up and need his pacifier and it sucked to get out of bed for a 2-second fix. It would have been really nice to have him right there to snuggle, soothe, etc. Plus, I couldn't see him in the bassinet from my bed and as a first-time mom it would have been very reassuring to be able to roll over and check on him.
The Arms Reach Mini is perfect for us because DC#2 will be close by, the mini doesn't take up much space, and we know we won't really use a play yard.
Playyard with removable bassinet. I only plan to use the bassinet part for a week or so, then baby will move to crib in nursery when DH goes back to work.

Arm's Reach Mini co-sleeper, for certain. I think it's one of the reasons that DD started STTN at five weeks -- if she woke up, she got soothed quickly, and that reassurance that nighttime isn't a scary place helped her to be a good sleeper!
We also got a PNP because we have a two-story house, and in the first couple of weeks, especially if you have a C-section, you're supposed to limit your up-and-down the stairs runs. It's not fun to have to go all the way to the nursery to put the baby down for a nap or to change a diaper, and you change a lot of diapers during the first couple of months.
"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
My mom already purchased a bassinet from PBK for us...I'm not really sure why, I guess she just thought it was really pretty. But I still feel like we need a pack-n-play for when we travel or when the baby stays the night with my mom or my in-laws ??
We had a bassinet with #1, then used a pnp with #2-4 and plan on using one this time as well. We actually got rid of our crib and our youngest sleeps in the pnp now. We love it, especially when the baby is young because the bassinet portion is quite nice and works well as a multi-purpose table (changing, etc.).
Re: Cosleepers, bassinets or pac-n-plays???
Same here---we're registered for the Graco one in Deco.

Arms reach co-sleeper for me too, everyone I know that has one swears by it.
