Rants / Raves / Symptoms: Feeling much better this past week considering I'm not too comfortable sleeping. Hemorrhoids and hip pain are the only things I'm complaining about this week.
Upcoming Appointments: Next Monday for regular check-up and GBS swab.
Questions for the group: Is it normal for hips to pop? If I stand with my legs hip length apart and sway back and forth I can feel my hips pop in and out. Such a gross feeling. Not painful, but is this normal?
GTKY: We'll all have newborns this summer season. Are you still planning on a vacation? Not in the summer, but we do have a beach vacation planned in December. Baby will be 7 months by then!
Rants: this has been the longest 8 months of my life!
Raves: I bought some cookies at the store last night and when DH saw the empty tray he asked what it was from. Me: "Cookies" DH: "From where?" Me: "The store." DH: "Where are they?" Me: "In my stomach." DH: "ALL OF THEM?!?!" Me: "Just kidding. They're in the tupperware container on the counter."
Symptoms: Man do my hips and back hurt while sleeping!
Upcoming appointments: DH is coming along to the Dr. appt this Friday where he'll learn about all of the possible complications of a VBAC (and then we'll sign off on it) and we'll hopefully choose a c-section date (just in case).
Vacation plans: probably just spending lots of time at the cabin and my parents lake home.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: hip pain, the impending feeling that the baby is going to fall out, just overall getting to the really uncomfortable point. Had my first baby shower yesterday. Was fun and got a lot of great things.
Upcoming Appointments: Thursday starts my weekly appointments.
Questions for the group:
GTKY: We'll all have newborns this summer season. Are you still planning on a vacation? We were not planning a vacation.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: I am not going to complain this week lol. I am beyond ecstatic that my sciatic nerve pain is gone and I can walk around like normal again I had an awesome baby shower at work on Friday and everyone was beyond generous! I cannot get over how excited people get over babies!
Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday for GBS and dilation check (first of my weekly appointments!)
Questions for the group: none today
GTKY: We'll all have newborns this summer season. Are you still planning on a vacation? We have not 1 but 3 weddings towards the end of the summer, August, September and October- and they are all in Pennsylvania and Upstate NY, which requires us to stay overnight in a hotel. Needless to say, we probably will not bring our little guy- who will be 4 months, 5 months and 6 months during those times.
Week / Fruit: 33/TB says durian fruit (WTF is that anyway!?) My other app says pineapple.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: I'm having terrible hip pain. It was just when I woke up, but now it's all the time! I'm so ready for May!!!
Upcoming Appointments: Not until the 20th. My appointments are supposed to be bi-weekly now, but my doctor is going to be out of town, so I have 3 1/2 weeks between my last and next appointment. That makes me a little nervous at this point, so I may call this week and try to reschedule for sooner with one of my doctor's practice partners.
Questions for the group: What type of baby monitor (if any) are you getting/do you have? The nursery is on the other side of our house from the master bedroom, so I've been looking at video and audio monitors. Is a video monitor worth it, or should I just pick up an audio one (for less than half the price). I think a video monitor would be nice, but if the baby is crying in the middle of the night, I think we'll just get up, not stop to watch the video.
GTKY: We'll all have newborns this summer season. Are you still planning on a vacation? We have no vacations planned. The nice thing is that we live where everyone else vacations, so most of our out of town family and friends are planning to vacation here this summer to see the baby.

Our house is small enough that we don't need one, but if I were you I'd invest in the video monitor. Especially if this is your first and you're planning on others. Yes, at first you will just get up and not stop to look at the monitor, but trust me, months later you might want to look before you get up.
Upcoming Appointments: Had one today. Have a sonogram on Wednesday because I am measuring the same as at my last appointment.. but really, I feel like she didn't measure right because she was obviously rushed and didn't do it like the other midwives have.
Questions for the group: Has anyone else had low fluid? Or know anyone who has? At my growth scan two weeks ago I was told everything looked great and was on track. Today the midwife told me that my fluid was low last time so because I am measuring small, she wants me to have another one done this week. She didn't tell me what my fluid was or what it should be. I am so worried. I got to my car and started to cry. I know that a lot of people who have low fluid end up getting induced before their due dates. I don't want that.
GTKY: We'll all have newborns this summer season. Are you still planning on a vacation?
We didn't plan to vacation. We don't usually go away in the summer, but try to go in the winter when it's cold and we want to get away from here.
Me: 31
DH: 29, SA - Great

No experience here but i wanted to send you some positive vibes!! I hope everything is ok and baby and you are doing just fine @AdorkablePixie!!
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: Contractions here and there; today I had several on my way to my OB appointment, so that was convenient. Luckily they seem to have calmed down. I'm getting over a cold, yuck.
Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday is (hopefully) my last growth check, assuming baby boy is still measuring okay.
Questions for the group: None
GTKY: We'll all have newborns this summer season. Are you still planning on a vacation? We're going to Hawaii in July, which I'm excited but apprehensive about. I'm worried about keeping a 2ish month old healthy while in transit mostly, especially since we obviously don't know his shot schedule yet.
Rants: I'm over not being able to do things I used to. Raves: Still baby's kicks, wiggles, and rolls! Symptoms: heartburn, general discomfort where I can't sit for too long/ sit on certain furniture, and fatigue.
Upcoming Appointments: Tomorrow for blood draw. I was recently diagnosed with pregnancy induced anemia so have to get blood taken weekly to watch my counts. Otherwise I have to take steroids so I don't risk "bleeding out" during labor..
Regular OB appt this Thursday.
Questions for the group: Anyone else faced with low platelet counts and had to take steroids while pregnant?
GTKY: We'll all have newborns this summer season. Are you still planning on a vacation?
The thought of traveling with a newborn scares me. I am a bridesmaid in a wedding in July so if baby comes with I think that'll be the only time. Not exactly a vacation, but since it involves taking a flight across the U.S I'm counting it.
@SwflJD We have the summer wide view monitor. I like the thought of just being able to see baby since she is on the other side of the house, especially during nap times since we plan to put her in her crib. It also has two way communication which we plan to use if one of us is in her room. Lazy, yes, but it'll save time if I can tell MH something without having to leave another room, I'm ok with it. It's also portable so it will come in handy when we travel and give peace of mind.
@swflJD we have an audio monitor plus a Foscam video monitor, which isn't a baby monitor but serves the same function and is more versatile since we can view the image from our phones and don't have distance/signal restrictions. A video monitor isn't a necessity, but sometimes it's nice to know what's going on in the crib without actually having to make an appearance.
@adorkablepixie I don't have personal experience with low fluid, but I think the seriousness of the situation depends on how low it is. It sounds like an ultrasound to confirm what's happening is a great precaution to take. Growth checks are so normal at this stage, so try not to worry about it too much! It definitely doesn't have to mean you'll need to be induced before you're due date. Fx for you!
@hellogoodbye2 My hips sometimes pop too. Technically the popping sound is just air escaping the joint. Could be due to the relaxin our bodies are releasing? I guess it hasn't worried me enough to check with my Dr.

Yea that makes sense and that's what I was assuming. It's just such a weird sound/feeling! But like I said, no pain at all so I'm not concerned about it.
(lurker from weekend ticker change)
My platelets were low when I was in triage for contractions 3 weeks ago. I had another blood test 2 days ago, and my platelets decreased even further. At the beginning the pregnancy, I was 181. Now, I am 119. I have an OB appt tomorrow, so we will see if anything needs to be done. Did your OB say how low you have to be for steroid treatment? Good Luck to you!
Mama to Three Girls: Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: My shoulders are so sore from turning from left and right sides trying to get comfortable. Walking is becoming a challenge because of the pressure I have. Also I'm taking medication for a UTI, and those pills are making me sick. I know they are to help me but daily this is becoming a challenge just to keep the pill down.
Upcoming Appointment: April 14 is my next appointment.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: I have The Dumb and I hate it. I really hope my brain comes back when baby gets here.
Upcoming Appointments: Next Wednesday for GBS, cervical check. I'm dreading it.
Questions for the group: I had one, but again, The Dumb, so I can't remember it.
GTKY: We'll all have newborns this summer season. Are you still planning on a vacation? Nope. Not planning to travel until March of next year for a wedding.
Week / Fruit: 35 weeks/Coconut (which I think is smaller than a butternut squash)
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: lots of DC (I thought my water broke last night I had so much), insomnia, night sweats, swelling randomly, thirsty, puffy, sore, feeling pressure, difficulty breathing
Upcoming Appointments: Friday..regular check
Questions for the group:
GTKY: We'll all have newborns this summer season. Are you still planning on a vacation? Just ML...DD1 will be taking a vacation in June to Illinois..Her first one. Without me.
Been married since 2009. Unicornuate Uterus (yes I menstruate glitter) Several MCs DD born 2013 (our miracle "you can't have babies" baby!)
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: pelvic pain post work out and fatigue. I'm d-o-n-e by 3pm. But surprisingly, my hip pain isn't as bad.
Upcoming Appointments: Thursday
Questions for the group: None
GTKY: We'll all have newborns this summer season. Are you still planning on a vacation? No big vacation plans. We have people coming to visit us and the new munchkin, and I'm looking forward to some of the family friendly outdoor Sunday music series the ski resorts offer in the summer. Next summer, though? I'm going to plan the most epic vacation ever.

Now, I am 119. I have an OB appt tomorrow, so we will see if anything needs to be done. Did your OB say how low you have to be for steroid treatment? Good Luck to you!
My hematologist said if I drop below 100 she would start low dose steroids. I'm really hoping I can hold steady above 100, but my last count dropped from 130 to 112 over the course of 2-3 weeks. I wish you the best of luck as well!
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: HEADACHES! Such painful headaches. And BH that cause me to double over the cart in CVS. General exhaustion. Lack of motivation to be at work...hence why I called out yesterday. I don't want to be here today either. So, whiney-ness and b*tchiness are also symptoms right now.
Upcoming Appointments: Today after work. I am of 2 minds: one, I just want to know everything is awesome and I can continue like always. But two, I want to somehow not have to come into work anymore. So, I want to be "sick" enough to not have to work, but well enough to continue with this blessedly healthy pregnancy. Don't worry, I am flaming myself enough for all of you so no need to start in on me.
Questions for the group: What has helped your headaches? Especially at night?
GTKY: We'll all have newborns this summer season. Are you still planning on a vacation? We might try to take a day trip up to NH to see Thomas the Tank Engine. We went last year and my son had the time of his life! He has been asking again and I really don't want to tell him no. It will be at the end of July so I think we should be able to do it.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: Sharp stabbing pains in my piriformus. I'm most achy AFTER I get up in the morning. I'm still walking regularly (my dogs gets about an hour to 1 1/2 hours of walking time a day) and I think this is good for me. But it's getting harder.
Upcoming Appointments: Next week for Group B, TDAP, etc. That will also be the start of once-a-week appts.
Questions for the group: Does everyone get growth scans/checks at your practices/midwiferies? I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't.
GTKY: We'll all have newborns this summer season. Are you still planning on a vacation? Sadly, not a TRUE vacation. We'll go to Colorado in August to visit my folks, and maybe that counts? We did Hawaii in December and Prague last August. The summer before we went to Newfoundland. So we are big travelers and it does seem odd not to have a good vacation on the itinerary.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: I know it's my pelvic bone... But holy vagina soreness. I imagine this is what it feels like when a guy gets hit in the crotch. I know I shouldn't even say it because it will be karma, but I'm sleeping ok (if you don't have a snoogle - GET IT) and only getting up once to pee. Or when my dog wants under the covers 5 times a night. Oh, tums are my BFF.
Upcoming Appointments: last bi-weekly is this wed and then I go to weeklys. Still can't believe how fast this has gone.
Questions for the group: Anyone else's DH say "you're not to that point yet" when I tell him to park in expectant mother parking?? I guess my waddle and the carrying of his very COZY child isn't enough just yet. I'm shocked he doesn't see the laser beams coming out of my eyes at him. Next will be knives.
GTKY: We'll all have newborns this summer season. Are you still planning on a vacation? No vacation. DH's family goes to Michigan every year in July and we've been asked a billion times if we're going and I'm annoyed. I am very chill, but something about taking an 8 week old on an 8 hour drive (one way) with 15 family members in a house with no A/C just doesn't sound appealing to me - nor seem like a vacation when I'll be BF or pumping often still. Maybe I'm crazy though.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: All raves because it's getting so real!
Upcoming Appointments: OB appointment was yesterday, which means my last regular old two-week appointment is, well, in two weeks. Then I have a follow up ultrasound on April 27 to check the placenta previa situation.
Questions for the group: Nah, but all your questions and answers are helpful for me to realize what I'm forgetting to ask.
GTKY: We'll all have newborns this summer season. Are you still planning on a vacation? We usually go to a cabin in northern Minnesota with my in-laws over the Fourth of July each year. I am not sure I'm up for making the drive with a brand-new baby. Is it horrible to send my husband and step-son and stay home with the baby?
Upcoming Appointments: Today after work. I am of 2 minds: one, I just want to know everything is awesome and I can continue like always. But two, I want to somehow not have to come into work anymore. So, I want to be "sick" enough to not have to work, but well enough to continue with this blessedly healthy pregnancy. Don't worry, I am flaming myself enough for all of you so no need to start in on me.
I get this. I've had these thoughts too...like it would be kind of great if the doctor said "you should stop working, you know, just as a precaution." An abundance of caution!! I wish I had a ridiculously cautious doctor
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: My face looks so swollen. My DH says it isn't but that makes me feel worse- surely it didn't look like this all the time? Also, drooling while asleep like nobody's business.
Upcoming Appointments: Next Tuesday for NST, Doctor, and growth US
Questions for the group: can I use crest whitening strips while pregnant? I forget to ask every week
GTKY: We'll all have newborns this summer season. Are you still planning on a vacation?
i do not think so. It feels like too much, and the thought of planning one more thing right now is overwhelming.

I'll go you one further... I ASKED last Thursday for him to put me on modified BR but I found out I have to have something extreme for my short term disability to cover it. Boo.

@AliciaD39 I don't know why you wouldn't be able to use them, but maybe check with your doctor to make sure! I don't think I will ever use those again. I used them a couple of times before, the last time being right before our wedding and them made my teeth so sore. It was so uncomfortable!

thanks for your response. My OB wants me to see a hematologist, so that is booked for Monday. She said that if my plt are low in L&D, I can have a TEG done, which is another blood test to test the functioning of the plt. If the functioning is normal, I wouldn't need to get a plt transfusion. I am a repeat c-section, so that might be why they want to make sure I won't bleed more than normal. Let's stay above 100!

Week / Fruit: 36wk - Honeydew
DS: Born 5-17-16
