I'm getting on early today before my busy day starts.
Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Rant/Rave/Symptoms:
Rave + Rant: OB appointment today. Can't believe it's already been 2 weeks since my last one. Since my regular doctor I was seeing switched to the weekend shift, I start seeing my new one today. Curious to see what she says about my glucose test results from my last appt. They said they'd call if I failed or anything was abnormal. I looked at my online chart where they posted the results, and it shows an "Abnormal" result for the 1 hour test. I got a 152 if I remember correctly, so I'm pretty sure that means I failed, but I haven't gotten a phone call.
Symptoms: Vag/pelvic pain when switching positions, constipation, sharp gas-like pains randomly under my rib, exhaustion, sore hips and feet.
What are you doing to prepare for baby?
Baby shower on Saturday was wonderful! My mom and sister did a great job and it was awesome to celebrate with all the special ladies in my life. Really thankful for all the gifts and essentials we got. H got the closet organizer installed in baby's room yesterday, and my mom and I are going to go and purchase the items still left on the registry in the next few weeks so we can finish baby's room. It's coming together!
Questions?
I searched past threads and founds some answers, but I'm curious if anyone else has noticed times where their belly seems smaller than previous weeks? Last night especially, my belly just felt & looked smaller than normal. I am assuming it's just because baby is in a different position, and I'll probably ask the doc about it today too.
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes?
Last August right before we found out I was pregnant we went to look for cars and ended up driving home in a GMC Acadia Denali. Definitely not planned, but it ended up being perfect timing. It's reliable and has plenty of room, so we don't plan on getting anything different for quite a while.

Rant/Rave/Symptoms:
Rant: We got hit with another snow storm late yesterday, into this morning. We've gotten more snow this spring than we did all winter. And I'm definitely not prepared for my drive into work (all on back country roads) since I had my winter tires taken off a few weeks ago. Rookie mistake...
Rave: Only 8 weeks left of work! And my weeks are short. I can do this!
Symptoms: Sore! There's so much pressure & at times pain where baby is. And the exhaustion...brutal.
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes?
I now drive a 2016 Mazda CX-5. Before this car I had a 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring, but it was crappy & not the safest thing...so I made the trade in December.

Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Sore throat since yesterday evening. Waiting to see if it's gonna turn into something more serious or if I'm gonna be fine. And soooo tired since I couldn't sleep much for the past two nights. Rave: payday week. Payday weeks make everything better. Can't wait to get some more baby gear.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Will probably get the sleeper today. Otherwise nothing major for now. Waiting for completion coupons to get bigger ticket items.
Questions? Any medicine recommendations for sore throat while pregnant?
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes? We got a second car recently to fit in a car seat. Subaru Forester. We love it. Should get us through two kids I think.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Inside of my thighs hurt today for some weird reason I think I slept funny.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? I have a doctor appointment tomorrow along with breast feeding class. We also put the car seat bases in the cars and are going to get them checked tomorrow to make sure we installed them correctly. They are having a free car seat check on base tomorrow.
Questions? None today
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes?
A 2015 Chevy equinox and my husband drives a 2013 Honda Civic
Rant/Rave/Symptoms:
Symptoms: Stuffy, bloody nose (ick).
Got a call yesterday that a family member that had been fighting Alzheimer's and its complications for 10 years was hospitalized, and taken off life support last night. So, now he is just being kept comfortable via palliative care, and we're just waiting for any new developments. Just hoping for a peaceful passing for him.
On a positive note, H has turned the corner from his flu, and hopefully will be back on his feet in a day or two.
What are you doing to prepare for baby?
Went on a shopping trip with my sister yesterday, and picked up a few baby outfits. Couldn't help it!
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes?
I drive a Subaru Outback. We traded in my compact sedan in November for the Outback, since it's so much safer and a bit larger than what I'd had. I love my Subaru!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms:
Rant: So much back pain!
Rave: Went to a "bringing home baby" course this weekend and it was awesome! I learned A LOT and feel much more prepared now. The best part was being able to try out a bunch of carriers and look at all the different kinds of disposable and cloth diapers. Plus it was fun to see DH try stuff out.
Symptoms: Back pain, some RLP, and getting winded easily.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Breastfeeding course this week. Other than that, just house organization. U/S and OB appt today too.
Questions? Does anyone still occasionally sleep on their back? I often wake up on my back which sometimes is comfortable and sometimes not (I think it depends on where exactly baby is hanging out). I know it's not always good to be on your back, but I've also heard that it's only really bad if you feel bad as a result of it. If I'm super comfy like that can I just stay there?
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes?
I have a Hyundai Elantra GT and LOVE it. I think having a hatchback is so convenient. We bought the Chicco Keyfit 30 and it fits easily in the back. DH has a Subaru WRX that is fun but definitely not the most comfortable, lol.
@candicek15 - I often wake up on my back. Sometimes it hurts and I think that's what wakes me up and sometimes it feels fine. If it hurts, I readjust. I assume that if it doesn't hurt, baby is in a position that avoids the pressure spots.

Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Insane heartburn! I thought I knew what bad heartburn was... I was wrong. This is sooooo much worse. Rant: Slept like crap due to my newly intensified symptom. Rave: My SIL is in labor! New niece on the way!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? H plans to assemble the crib this week.
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes? We have a Honda Civic and Jeep Rubicon. The Honda is due to be replaced in the next few years and we will probably get a Honda Pilot so that we are ready for future kids; but as of now, the Jeep will be fine if we need to take the baby and dogs somewhere.
@crdo Palliative care is no fun. Hoping your family member is comfortable and has a peaceful passing.
@DeePaddy24 I think all of your snow is headed my way and I am not pleased, lol.
@mrsschmity I'm sorry about your GD results. I hope someone clarifies for you soon. Glad to hear you had a great shower!
@mrsschmity : I have been feeling like my belly has been the same size for the past 3-4 weeks. We just started measuring it last week since I was curious, but then people will comment that I look bigger. Maybe baby is just in a different position that doesn't make you look bigger? Glad your shower went well and GL at your appt!
@DeePaddy24 : That sucks about another snowstorm! Spring definitely is taking it's time getting here! Yay for only 8 weeks of work left, same here. I am already counting down!
@kwife15 : Hope your sore throat doesn't turn into anything more and you feel better soon!
@crdo : Sorry to hear about your family member
Hope your H feels better!
@kballew10 : Congrats to your SIL! Hope it's a quick and easy delivery!
How far along are you? 29 weeks today!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: Still sick, but getting better. Right now, still lots of post nasal drip, one nostril constantly stuffed, and ears won't pop. But at least I got antibiotics which should get rid of this thing. Everyone around me seems to be getting sick too and DH woke up with a sore throat, blah. Rave: Baby is kicking and moving like crazy in there! It's cool just watching your belly move like waves. Also, hadn't heard about my Glucose test results from over a week ago so I created an account with the lab and was able to view my results online. I got a 135 which according to the report, 135 and up means I failed. So I called my OB's office and they said the OB marked it as passed! Definitely relieved. Symptoms: Lots of heartburn lately, BH more frequently it seems.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Ordered a set of 4 woodland animal prints off Etsy, ordered my baby shower dress (a maxi that hopefully can be worn post baby), organizing plans for our pup when I go into labor. Baby shower is this Sunday. DH is stocking up on coupons for BBB to try to get extra discounts on anything we still need to buy. OB appt. this Thursday - getting TDAP shot.
Questions? What are you guys doing with your dogs when it's time to go to the hospital? We are thinking of having our in laws pick her up and take her to boarding place we normally take her to. I know she will be fine for about 6 hours on her own too.
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes? Upgraded to a 2016 Mazda CX-5 to replace my 10-year old Scion tC since there was no way I was putting a car seat in that tiny car! Love driving an SUV - nice not feeling so short on the road now! DH drives an 2009 Mazda 3. Guess we're a Mazda family now!

Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Hmm, it's Monday? But I feel like I had a very productive weekend, so I'm not too stressed out about the week ahead. No new symptoms, just the same old stuff.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Washed and put away some baby clothes yesterday. I also washed the mattress pad and hung it to dry, so today I will be able to put the crib sheet on!
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes? H and I currently only own one vehicle, and it's a Mazda 3. We aren't getting a second car immediately, but next fall/winter I think we will probably purchase something a little bigger. It will be nice to have more space, but I really enjoy the simplicity and money-saving aspects of only having one car.
@deepaddy24- boo for snow! It's April- come on spring! Yay for having a countdown in single digits
@crdo- so sorry about your family member. Hope all goes as well and comfortably as possible.

Rant/Rave/Symptoms:
Had a fun weekend at my parent's house, but the driving and not sleeping well kicked my big old pregnant butt. My hips and legs are so achy and restless. I can definitely tell when I don't take my extra magnesium!
What are you doing to prepare for baby?
Waiting for H to finish a class/test for work, then we're repainting and switching the kids' rooms around. Will use my completion discount this week on all the last and little things we need, plus stack that coupon with the GC/coupons I have for the target dipes/wipes dealio!
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes?
We bought a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan when I was pregnant in 2014, and then we miscarried. H wanted to sell it and then we found out about this dude. I love my van. No shame!!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms:
Rant: So exhausted! DH woke up at 3:30 this morning and when I heard him moving around I couldn't fall back asleep
Rave: Stopped on the way into work at a Greek cafe and got their spinach and feta omelette with bacon. So delicious!
Symptoms: RLP, heartburn hasn't felt so bad lately, struggling with the waddle today.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Not much. Washed all her clothes this weekend and got her room set up and ready to go.
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes? I just got a 2016 Hyundai Elantra and DH drives a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. No worries about either fitting the two car seats. DH's Jeep is obviously the main family car, but I will still be able to drive the kids around in mine when needed.
@kwife15 I don't have any recommendations for medicine but I'm hoping that you feel better soon!
@crdo Sorry to hear about your family member. I will be praying for a peaceful passing as well.
@candicek15 Occasionally I find myself on my back but generally it has become very uncomfortable and I don't stay that way very long. Like PP, if it's not uncomfortable for you, it's probably fine.
@Kballew10 I'm right there with you with sleepless nights due to heartburn. I take tums and mylanta and elevate my torso at night. Let me know if you find anything else that helps you.
@BakerBird525 To help with the pressure, try holding your nose and drinking some water. It might now make your ears pop, but it usually helps with that pressure. Also a neti pot or anything you can take for congestion should help.
How far along are you? 30+5
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: Spring break is over. Rave: Getting ready to eat a lovely yogurt parfait
Symptoms: Getting a little more uncomfortable as baby gets bigger. I've been getting a lot of hot flashes and have terrible heartburn, especially at night.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Finally got to work on the nursery this weekend. Need to finish painting some trim and finding some more wall decor, but it's functional.
Questions? I had an OB visit on Thursday and I asked about the Tdap. They said I wouldn't be getting one until I deliver. Anyone else been told this? I'm planning on calling back to see if it's ok if I get one at my primary care physician...
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes? I have an older Ford Explorer (I think it's an '06). I do not plan on getting anything else any time soon. It has a third row so it's big enough for the 6 of us for now...
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Got home late last night from doing a Christian theatre production with our theatre group so I am beyond tired!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Baby shower in about a week or so.
Questions? Anyone started waddling yet? I cant really say I'm full on waddling but i'm feeling heavier and heavier lately and just feel to lazy to walk normal again.
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes? We both have 2 used vehicles that were given to us after my hubby wrecked my car. Those will have to do until we can afford something nicer. Ones a 1996 Toyota Corolla and the other is a 1997 Pontiac Grandam.
How far along are you? 30+5
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Still just totally uncomfortable, my hips and pelvis are killing me, and by the end of the day I'm limping everywhere. But I guess my rave is that DH finally understands how much I do with DS. I left him alone with DS while I was away on my girls' weekend, and DS came down with a cold and was super snotty and cranky the entire weekend. When I got home DH said he had a better appreciation for how well I deal with DS, and told me that I'm doing a great job.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? This weekend a friend is throwing me a sprinkle since we're having a girl this time around, so I will get a few things for the baby. Then, it will just be a matter of collecting the last few things, and then getting DS settled in his new room so I can repaint and get the rug professionally cleaned. But DS's new toddler room is 90% finished! Just waiting on the blinds and mattress to be delivered (in a week I believe) and then FIL will build a simple bed rail.
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes? I currently drive an Acura TL (a really old model, it was DH's in college - we're going to our 10th reunion next weekend!). It pretty much fits our one convertible carseat for DS in the middle of the backseat, but with my ever expanding stomach and the fact that DS is a really long string bean, it's getting pretty difficult for me to get him in there. We ordered an Expedition EL and it's expected to come in for us to pick up in the next week or two, and then we'll install both carseats, and I think that will make a HUGE difference. We got it with bucket seats, so both carseats will be middle row and right by doors so I can get them in and out easily. The only thing will be getting used to the size since I've never been an SUV person.
@DeePaddy24: Snow = bleck. Yay for 8 more weeks!
@kwife15: Hope your sore throat clears and doesn't turn into something else!
@jerseygirl9090: Exciting to put in the car seat!
@candicek15: I've woken up on my back a time or two as well. From what my midwife said, you should avoid that position, but you'll notice shortness of breath and discomfort long before there's any harm to baby. FWIW, I'd avoid the position if you can, but unless you're feeling negative symptoms, baby's likely just fine.
@BakerBird525: Yay for passing your test! For our dog, our parents have volunteered to come walk her while we're at the hospital. So, that's likely what we'll do.
@annaf2011: Sounds like your baby prep is going very well!
@MamaNicoleof3: Hope you get some rest today after the weekend trip! Sounds like a good week ahead of kid/baby prep. Exciting!
@tjenkins528: That omelet sounds di-viiine. Mmm.

Rant is that I have my glucose test on Wednesday
Rave is: 51 days until the school year is over! But who's counting...

Questions?
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes?
2008 Ford Escape. I plan on keeping it. It's paid off and we definitely can't afford another car payment.
DD born June 2016
Second due August 2020 (team green!)
@mrsschmity, my belly definitely changes. Sometimes my belly button is popped and sometimes it is flat.
@kbequette08, I definitely waddle. Especially when my back hurts.

Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Cold is getting better but still congested. Some contractions
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Bed rest sooooo I'm restricted. I worked on their baby books a little bit. And re-packed my hospital bag. I also cleared off my phone pictures and charged my camera batteries.
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes? We were driving a 2012 Sonata (H) and 2011 Subaru Forester (me) but had to get a new car because of triplets. So we traded in the Sonata for a 2012 Odyssey and H gets my car. We wanted to keep the AWD and nice winter driving of the Subaru. The Odyssey is going to be pretty sweet but I still can't believe I drive a van.
Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant - Monday.
Rave - We're having a game night with some friends tonight at their new place so I'm super excited.
Symptoms - Hoooooly BH's. The last couple nights have been awful sleep.
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes?
I drive a 2015 Nissan Sentra that we just got in January and H drives a 2010 Toyota Corolla. I wanted a small SUV but we were so far under on our trade in that a sedan was the only affordable option to get out of our totally not carseat friendly Jeep. It'll be fine for one baby though and both cars are awesome on gas and H's is almost paid off so nothing new for a while!
@dennyandlee - I took Tums earlier in the evening, but then H got home from his weekend trip with Taco Bell (and he brought me a quesadilla!) and... it just didn't end well. I did build myself a mini-mountain to sleep on after it woke me up and popped some more Tums, but I may have to buy Mylanta if it happens again. Does that work better than Tums? Thanks for all of the advice!
@samsonator - That is a very interesting way to look at blood draws. I know it causes you anxiety, but it made me laugh.

Rant/Rave/Symptoms:
Rent:OB appointment today...ew. Plus, my husband called in to work today and took a sick day which I was HOPING he'd save for when baby comes, because he "didn't sleep well" last night. I'm over here like.....I NEVER sleep well lately and I havnt taken any time off at ALL! Men are babies. Good thing it's women who get pregnant and not men, or the human race would have died off long ago.
Rave: Meh.
Symptom: all of them.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Working on nursery....husband did promise to put the crib up today, so there's that.
Questions? Nah.
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes? I drive a Chevy blazer. Its fine for baby, and we can put a ton in the back!
@mrsschmity I've also noticed the morphing belly size phenomenon. Even H one day said "Please don't take this the wrong way, but you look really, really pregnant today!" It didn't bother me because it was on a day that I noticed the bump looked especially large too. I'm assuming just change in positions because it gets smaller sometimes too.
@candicek15 I've woken up the same way and I asked my OB and she said the same thing another PP said, that you will be short of breath way before there is any harm to the baby. I've started just wedging a pillow underneath one side, if I'm "comfortable" on my back, so I'm still tilted to the side a little
@kbequette08 I'm officially in full waddle. It's much easier than trying to walk normal.

Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: H is off for the Cleveland Indians home opener today and I'm stuck at work feeling rage-y because I slept like poo last night. Rave: H and I had another long talk last night about the whole no sex or intimacy issue we've been having and I think he finally understands what I'm feeling and I'm hoping things start to get better. I've mentioned before in other threads, but it's me wanting it and him not. Symptoms: bad headache today, along with the usual swelling, soreness, roundness and all around crabbiness. I really want to just high five all of you mommies who already have a little one(s) running around while pregnant because I feel like I'm barely coping with having a dog and a cat underfoot!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? H and I went a little crazy at Kohl's in the baby clearance section this weekend. He was wayyyyy worse than I was, he kept pulling things off the rack and saying "this is cute, how about this? How about this?" It was pretty adorable
Questions: How many of you working mamas are planning to work right up till the end and how many are starting leave early? I'm an accountant so I just work in an office and the plan right now is to work until maybe a day before the due date (assuming he's not early but I'm an FTM and somehow doubt it). I don't want to waste time w him once he's hear by taking off early but I also am a super uncomfortable swollen whale so I kinda wouldn't mind a day or two of just peace and rest before he gets here.
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes? H and I already switched vehicles, he's now driving our Ford Fusion and I'm in the Ford Escape. In a couple years, once the Fusion is old and worn down, we're probably going to get an Explorer, because it has the 3 rows of seats and I'm in love with them.

Rant- I slept ok until about 2am, when everything went to shit and now I'm a cranky crotchety pregnant lady.... See symptoms...
Rave- H brought me home coffee this morning after he went to the gym!!!
Symptoms- severe back pains which are waking me up in the night, difficulty taking deep breaths, BH are making themselves known more often these days. And headaches.
Questions- none yet.
GTKY- What kind of vehicle do you drive?
I drive a 2016 Honda Pilot. We traded my 2012 Honda Fit in for the new car back in November/December because the dealership was having a pretty good promotion. DH has a 1999 infinity QX something or other, but rarely drives it, so he has no need to trade in his for another car Payment.
Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!

Rant: I kept waking up on my back last night so my night was restless. Glad to hear other people are still able to sleep on their backs--sometimes it hurts, so it was weird last night that it seemed to be more comfortable than either side. But it still made me nervous, hence I switched.
Symptoms: Heartburn is getting worse, back pain is getting worse, restless leg (but also restlessness in general) is getting worse. I'm also really thirsty all the time.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Finishing up house projects so we can start on the nursery!
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes? We have a Honda Civic. I'm happy with it and we don't plan to buy a different car until we drive this one into the ground.
Good luck on your glucose test @samsonator
So very sorry about your relative @crdo
Hope you get good news on your GD test and I'm so glad your shower was great! @mrsschmity
@sdlindenberg - Does yours have captains chairs? A friend with 3 kids currently in car seats mentioned that their Toyota Highlander doesn't and that they had issues with 3 carseats in that arrangement, but I was curious as to whether the Pilot would have that issue since it's better rated for carseats (or at least older versions were). Also, the deep breaths thing is not happening anymore and sometimes it freaks me out.

What are you doing to prepare for baby?
Had one of my showers this weekend! We are currently driving back home with a full truck bed and cab. My family is awesome! So many thoughtful gifts. Only big ticket item I need is my glider and I might just use my moms old rocking chair from when I was a baby.
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes?
Newer model explorer we got a year or so ago since we knew kids would be on the horizon pretty soon. H has a full sized truck and an older mustang that baby won't ride in until he is older lol.
@Kballew10 – yay for jeep rubicons!!
@BakerBird525 – what to do with our dog is one of the things that was most stressing us out. I think my H is going to ask one of his friends to swing by and just take him to the normal boarding place we use. My dog is an asshole and isn’t great around other dogs and likes to jump on people when he first sees them, so it limits our options as far as where he can stay.
How far along are you? 31 weeks today! (Less than double-digit weeks to go, so weird)
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: Slept like crap last night. I was up playing on my phone from 230-530 and listening to my H and dog snore. Rave: H took me out for breakfast yesterday (breakfast scramble with avocado on top of cheese quesadillas - yes please!) and then we both just relaxed, it was a much needed day. Symptoms: I finally broke down and bought some tums for heartburn/acid indigestion. Otherwise, just finding new stretch marks and wanting to eat all the things
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Everything is up in the air now that we're most likely moving this summer. I am going to take down the painters tape and at least put the glider in the nursery (the rest of the furniture hasn't come). My local baby shower is May 7 so after that I'll have to spring for anything I havent gotten yet.
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes? My main car is a 2012 Ford Expedition. I LOVE it. We got it new when we first started trying to get pregnant. It clearly took us a while, but it should be good for a few more years. My next car will be the newer version of it. We also have a Ford F250 and a Jeep Rubicon, which are both awesome.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Spring weather has me feeling good! My stomach is getting big now haha, I had forgotten what it is like to carry around a watermelon all day.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Nothing and I need to get on that! I want to buy some basic early outfits, diapers and clean the bassinet/pack n play/ rock n play
Questions? Nope. @BakerBird525 my MIL took our dog to her house, the she brought her back. We also let her smell the baby right away when we got home, so she felt involved from the start haha.
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes? I drive a mid-size SUV and will keep it...hoping my double stroller fits!
@Mrsschmity I definitely have times (even within the same day) where my belly looks bigger or smaller; like sometimes when I lay down I’m surprise at how small it looks and then other times it seems so much huger. I really think it is just how he is laying in there, but I haven’t asked my doctor specifically
@DeePaddy24 Yay for only 8 weeks left at work!
@crdo I’m sorry to hear about your family member. Prayers for his comfort and for all of your family.
@candicek15 I also wake up on my back sometimes. I will roll back to my side, but I don’t stress to much when on my back as it is usually not uncomfortable or painful.
@kballew10 Exciting that you will soon have a new niece!!
@BakerBird525 For our dogs, whenever we head to the hospital I will call my sister and she is going to come over to take care of the dogs. She’ll probably stay at our house for the night and play it by ear as to when she leaves. Our dogs are fine for 8ish hours, and we will have other family coming to town after the birth that can help as needed.
@dennyandlee My OB did not give the TDaP shot, but gave me a prescription to get it elsewhere – she told me to get it around 28-30 weeks. I just got it at a CVS.
@samsonator Good luck on the GD test, LB!
@Huskerfanz I had some friend that had a REALLY hard time switching to a van, but once they took the plunge, they absolutely loved it. I’m sure you’ll rock the mom van!
@edeibel89 I plan to work until I no longer can, because I want to save my leave for after baby is here. I work from home, so in theory this will hopefully work, and I’ll just work until I’m going into labor. We’ll see what actually happens though.
How far along are you? 29 + 3
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: I got the TDaP shot yesterday and my arm is so sore today! Also, I think I experienced lightning crotch for the first time last night – definitely not comfortable!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Bought the stroller/car seat and picked out a glider/ottoman this weekend. Excited for the bigger items to be coming in!Also went to a big sale and got some good deals on swaddles and sleep sacks, which I'm pumped about.
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes? I have 2012 Nissan Rogue and plan on keeping it for a while since I like it and it is almost paid off. H drives a 2-door Honda Civic. So we’ll be replacing his first, but no plans to do so in the immediate future.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: The rageyness (not a real word) has come back! Work is especially bugging me lately! I have a client who is also pregnant with twins, is due the day after I am, and is about 10 years younger than I am (not high risk other than pregnant with twins). It's so unfortunate for her because if she got any other case manger, she might get a little bit more of a break. But if I can make it to work everyday, she can make it to 1 hour treatment groups that will probably benefit your future (and present) kids! Maternity leave will be a good break!! Nothing really to rave about today. Symptoms: I'm having numbness and tingling in my fingertips, especially when I wake up in the mornings. This is new...
What are you doing to prepare for baby? I'm going to add some things to my registry today, so I can use the completion coupon on them. DH wants a video monitor, so I need to find that old thread on the best ones.
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes? We have a Nissan Altima and a Nissan Xterra. I love them both!! We bought the Altima right before we got pregnant, since it gets better gas mileage and it was hard to fit my DS in my DH's truck. Then we found out we were having multiple babies! We thought we might have to trade the Altima in and get a van but all three car seats fit! Yay!! We'll probably need to get something bigger in a few years.
@KOR121 and @mrsschmity Exciting that you had your showers!! Would love to see pictures and hear all about them! Update the shower thread! (I am waiting till mine is in Mid May and my excitement has me very interested in everyone elses, I am living vicariously through you all till then!)
@candicek15 I sleep on my back more often than not, mainly because the weight of my belly is too much on my sides even with pillows (see symptoms below) that being said I'm never flat on my back, I have about 6 pillows positioned under my head/shoulders, under my sides, even under my legs so no pressure is on any one point.
@Kballew10 so exciting you're getting a new niece!! Share updates when you can, would love to hear her name etc.!
@edeibel89 I am planning on working in the office until 1 week prior to my due date, and then working from home until I go into labor. I'm at a desk job so its not as physically demanding but I still fear going into labor in my office, and I'm uncomfortable sitting here all day. Plus I have to climb 3 flights of stairs to get to my office... which is getting really old really quickly.
How far along are you? 28+ 3
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Finally found a way to comfortably sleep on my side for my belly (king sized pillow under me, I had previously been trying a toss pillow and/or the snoogle) - but this new method led me to wake up this morning with a completely numb leg and really sore back... so I don't know that its really a win. Rave that I had a very nice weekend, I mentioned in the weekly randoms thread that I went to one of my closest friends baby showers, it was nice to see her but the shower was so not a typical shower, no baby decorations, no games, and she didn't open the gifts (which I was really hoping to see the cute stuff she got!). Also my best friend flew in from California with her 3 month old so I got to see her and meet the baby! Rant that I blew out a tire this weekend and that took hours & $300 to repair... ugh. Also - hello cellulite, all over my butt/thighs out of nowhere... any thought of a bathing suit in June is completely gone at this point. I feel GROSS.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? My mom took me shopping over the weekend and I got a dress for my shower and a lot of nice new maternity clothes to get me through the rest of the pregnancy/the first month/two post partum when I'm not fitting in my regular clothes!
Questions?
GTKY: What kind of vehicle do you drive? Are you planning on getting something else before/after baby comes? DH and I both drive Jeeps but mine is 10 years old and we are replacing it before the baby comes... I am looking at mid sized SUV's, the Mazda cx5, and the new Buick suv. We have to spend some time and go test drive and just make the decision because this car has GOT to go. I was trying to keep it a few more months because its been nice not having a car payment but then crap like this weekend happens and it ends up costing me the same to repair it as it would've to have been driving a new car.
