I went out with some of my local moms for appetizers and drinks and I had a wonderful time even though my "drinks" were about 50 glasses of water (I am such a thirsty person, pregnancy just multiplies that). Then I brought my little man to a local farm yesterday to see baby animals as a fun, free way to spend the afternoon. He was running around the barn saying "Baa!" "Moooo!" and "Buck buck buck" the whole time. Mission accomplished.
Edited to add: I also made a week's worth of oatmeal in the crockpot and mini banana chocolate chip muffins for my little guy. I owned this weekend, everyone!!
I've been complaining bitterly about maternity clothes this pregnancy. I like in a small town and since I was pregnant with my son two of the stores that used to sell maternity clothes either went out of business or discontinued their lines leaving only Old Navy to shop at in person! I looked several times and I'm not being dramatic; everything was hideous. I bought two pairs of plain pants for work and that's all I could wear everything else was awful. I went in again yesterday and the section was completely renewed and there was actually some really nice stuff there!! I found a dress that I'm absolutely in love with, another more casual maxi dress and a few tops and shorts. I feel like I look so much better already I actually mentioned at the till that it was so nice that they finally had a decent selection in the maternity section and one of the managers overheard and explained that they had a new supervisor in that section and she had been working really hard to improve it. It shows! Hope she gets a bonus. Every pregnant lady in me town is grateful for her!!!
I used my Bump Bucks at Motherhood Maternity and got a ton of new clothes yesterday. I saved 40% on what I bought in store and 50% off what I ordered online. With what I have leftover from my first pregnancy, I should be set on clothes now.
BIL moved out, it took me hours to clean his room and bathroom but its done AND i finally got to take a BATH for the first time in my own house in 15 months!
We got a rug for the nursery and put together our crib. Tomorrow we find out the sex so excited!

AHHH! @kosmo86- that is so freaking exciting!!! We have a couple walls of the nursery painted, but haven't grabbed the crib off of my sister yet... also my parents are staying in that room in 2 weeks, so we need the bed still in there (They are babysitting my 15 month old and my sister's 4 year old twins at my house for a weekend! Wild times!!). But that's fantastic, so happy you have your house back!! Can't wait to find out what you're having, this is to be your first, take home baby, yeah?
@AnnaS930 yep this is our first. We haven't really painted yet, if it's a boy we are keeping the color (DH will be thrilled he doesn't have to paint!) if its a girl we will paint again. I should have waited to paint to start putting together the room but I am super impatient and just want to get started.

I felt really good on Saturday and we went for a long walk and ate at a nice restaurant, first time since BFP I've felt like we had a really nice meal. Then Sunday we went to our first open houses, the layout, size, kitchen, and price was amazing but a third floor walk up and no washer/dryer capabilities makes it a no go.

Completely understood. We are painting the nursery gray (we had a whole extra gallon after painting our basement when we converted it to a playroom). Will wait to accessorize for 2 weeks until our anatomy scan - thinking navy blue accents for a boy, or light purple for a girl. I'm obsessed with pink, but thinking purple will go nicely with the gray. Things are getting REAL up in here!
@AnnaS930 Purple will go nicely with gray, but pink and gray also look amazing together! My hope is to paint the nursery gray and accent with blue or pink (depending on sex) this time. I wanted to do that with DD, then found a tan and pink bed set that I loved, so we went that route instead. But I love grays. Every room in my house would be a shade of gray if we didn't have to paint it ourselves. I'm not big on painting.
@camichael84- I am loving these 2 gray rooms that we have now. My living room is already a blueish-gray (was that way when we bought it). Now I want to paint our bedroom and the bathrooms gray. I'm OBSESSED. I would even consider redoing Emmett's room but we painted it a two-tone of teal/aqua and it's such a great, bright nursery!
I think I may have felt baby movement for the first time on Friday. I was lounging on the couch and the cat was laying on my lower belly purring very loudly. I could feel the vibrations of the cat purring, but I also felt a bit of a tickle coming from inside of me. I'm not 100% certain that it was the baby moving, but it is definitely a possibility!
Cleaned the house, made major head way potty training my 2 year old. It would be great if she were out of diapers by the time the twins arrived. Started going through all of her clothes/baby stuff to see what we need, and made a list of freezer meals and things to stock up on.
We are trying to sell our townhouse and the weekend was a roller coaster but ended on a high! We moved out of the house last year when we bought our "forever" home. We tried to sell then but ran into issues with highly assessed taxes and an escrow shortage that would have had us forking over thousands so we decided to rent for a year and try selling again this year. Over the past year, I had the mortgage company work to make up the escrow shortage and also appealed our property taxes so that they are accurately assessed so we were ready to go! We put the house on the market Friday and had our first showing that same afternoon! Yay! Then, we had four showing requests for yesterday. That our tenants declined. No! (Their lease stipulates that as long as they have at least 6 hours notice, the must accept showings and in this case they had over 24 hours.) I reached out to them to see why the showings were declined and found that they "weren't comfortable" having several showings in a day because they have a new baby. I get where they're coming from (first time parent jitters and all) but we've included them in the preparations for this process from the beginning (last year) so they knew what the deal was. AND we extended their lease by a month (which was our suggestion to them) so that the baby would be a little older when the showings started, which is something we didn't have to do. I had to sort of lay down the law about our expectations of them in regards to showings. It was was necessary but I felt horrible doing so. I didn't get a response but the next two showing requests that came through were approved so it seems they got the message. Then, last night, we got an offer!! The best part - the offer was a few grand over our "break even" point AND is requesting a close date of the day after our tenants move out so no double mortgage for us! It is obviously far from a done deal at this point so I'm only cautiously optimistic but our fingers are crossed! I really hope this all works out!
We found an amazing house that is probably within our price range. We've got almost everything together for our loan application, and will be dropping it off on Friday. It's so exciting! I was getting rather depressed about finding something that's big enough and isn't in a meth riddled neighborhood. But this house is both of those things, so it gives me hope. Even if this particular house is sold, it means that there is something out there for us. The estimate the loan lady gave me was that it'd take her 2 - 3 weeks to underwrite the loan. I don't want to start looking at houses in person until we have the approval, because we really don't know what price points we're looking for.
@JennM205 That's a huge win! Fingers crossed that it continues to go smoothly.
We bought our house about 2 months before our first daughter was due. We had to rent out our condo that we were living in since the selling prices were so bad. Even though our tenants were always pretty decent, I was thrilled the day we sold it. It was such a huge weight off our shoulders.
@JennM205 - that is great! I want SOOO badly to sell our house, but I want to move about 2 hours away and with jobs, insurance, new baby and all it is just not feasible right now. We are thinking about starting the process to move in January. I CANNOT wait! Our house now is doable but its just not the house I want to raise our child in.

I've made peace with the fact that we won't have a separate room for our baby for a long time, and I've come up with a host of ideas to rearrange the room and make a section of it special for the baby. And I discovered mini-cribs
I also dodged an uncomfy situation with my nephew, who kept insisting he wanted to hear the baby's heart beat by placing his head on my blump. Eek!!! I'm only 16 weeks, going on 17, that won't work and it makes me super uncomfortable. He's my SIL's son, and I rarely see him so it was an odd situation. I just politely explained that the baby is still too small to hear the heartbeat that way, but maybe next time I see him (which will likely be 4 months from now and I'll be the size of a house lol).
