Due Date Changed?

hey all. We had been trying for this LO since September. I've been period and O tracking. Based on LMP and what I'm fairly sure is my O date, my EDD should be 11/6. Based on a dating scan yesterday, they adjusted my due date by almost 2 weeks to 11/19. I checked what my projected O date was based on the new due date and although there's not a zero chance, we definitely didn't time intercourse around what should have been conception. Heart beat was seen, and I guess it shouldn't matter as long as LO is healthy, but has anyone else experienced this? I'm still waiting on my ob to give me a call back.

How were you tracing your O? Only temping will give you an accurate idea of your actual O date short of ultrasounds. Period tracker apps will estimate based on a 28 day cycle and are rarely accurate for most women. Even OPKs aren't infallible as you can have multiple LH surges in a cycle.

OPKs. My cycle is normally 30 days, but January was 40 (oddball month for whatever reason), so I guess it's not out of the realm of possibility that February was weird as well. And honestly, as long as LO is healthy, I'm happy. But I'm kinda sad to be 2 weeks behind where I thought I was. And it's a little odd that there wasn't a lot of intimacy surrounding what should have been the conception date.

Yes, how were you tracking?

I have long cycles so my LMP doesn't really give a great idea of due date. My due date by LMP would've been a week earlier than my due date by dating ultrasound. And @comealongpondsis right that you can have multiple surges in a cycle some of the time.

Yeah I'd guess you had a first surge that you caught with the OPKs but didn't actually O with that surge. Definitely sucks t be pushed back two whole weeks; but as they say, it only takes one time to get KU!

It could simply be that your LO is growing a bit slower than 7 days per week. My LO has consistently been at less than 7 days per week the entire time. I would trust the dating scan, as they actually measured how big baby is now, regardless of when you conceived. It means you won't be induced early just because your LMP says you should be. It is a good thing to have it adjusted. I believe mine will be adjusted today as well as I should be nine weeks, but I have a feeling baby is only going to measure at about 8.

Im a good example that apparently they were right...it really only takes one time (sometimes) so I wouldn't discount any times you had sex later in the month even if it was infrequent.

When I was pregnant with DD, my due date got moved back by more than 3 weeks after my first ultrasound. I was totally bummed. Based on my LMP, we thought I was 11.5 weeks, and I turned out to be only 8 weeks. I have irregular cycles also. I must have just ovulated really late. She was born on my adjusted EDD, so I guess the ultrasound was pretty accurate
