Pregnancy Support Belt?

Is anyone using a Pregnancy/Maternity Support Belt?  My hips, back and pelvic area are hurting so much lately and my doctor recommended getting one.  Just wondering if it's worth getting?  Anyone have any experience with this?

Re: Pregnancy Support Belt?

  • I have SPD and wear one. It doesn't cure the pain, but it helps ease it. I definitely notice a difference when I'm not wearing it. I got this one https://www.amazon.com/ORT22300D-Medline-Curad-Maternity-Medium/dp/B005MT0MD4/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1459366838&sr=8-1&keywords=curad+support+belt  Only problem I have is that it bunches up at times on the sides which can be annoying. I'm also worried about it being hot when I have to wear it in the summer because I have to have 2 shirts on so it's not as noticeable since it's kinda bulky in a way.

  • @Diesel615 Thank you!  I was thinking the same thing about it being hot!  But it'll be worth it if it eases the pain!
  • I have one similar to PP that I wear sometimes.  Usually during growth spurts.  I actually got a prescription from my OB.

  • @Huskerfanz I'm not going to lie, you AMAZE me!!  I am in so much pain right now because the two babies are so heavy.  I don't know how you do it with three!  I read your posts and check-in and it's just amazing how much you are still doing!!
  • I borrowed one from a friend and use it if I'm gonna be out walking for a while but it's really annoying when I have to pee.  But it really did help cause I'm only carrying in the front so I really feel the pressure.
  • @adiaz132003 That's how I'm carrying, too!  It's been terrible!  I didn't even think about going to the bathroom!  Ugh!!  But I guess it'll be worth it if I can walk!  Thank you!!
  • @huskerfanz and @jaceyannie you both amaze me, I've only got one in there and am in all kinds of misery! You both rock!

I actually just purchased the Loving Moments by Leading Lady Maternity Adjustable Postpartum Support Belt from Walmart for $17.94 and it's actually been helping quite a bit today. It has taken some pressure off of my back when I'm walking but after awhile of sitting, it's making me a little uncomfortable, but it's easy to just un-Velcro while I'm sitting. I just take it off to go to the bathroom.

  • @edeibel89 Thank you!!  I'm glad to know it helps!  I broke down and bought one from Amazon today.  I can't wait to use it!
  • I bought the one from motherhood maternity
  • If you don't need a ton of support I would look into a blanqi tank. I got one and it really helped lift my belly and support my back. Plus it smooths all the other areas like spanx. It's kinda pricey but I found one second hand on eBay and wear it almost everyday.

  • I didn't really use anything my first pregnancy, twins, and really wish I had. This time around my stomach, muscles, and ligaments are pre-damaged so I really don't feel that much pain. I had been prepared to order one but at almost 31 weeks I think I may survive lol.

  • That's good to hear! I'm glad that you are starting to get to a good place gestationally too : )
  • I have this one and would not recommend it.

I wear it when I'm sewing and it kind of helps but I could never wear it out of the house. It's very bulky and super itchy so I have to wear a shirt under it. I'm shocked it's listed as the #1 seller in maternity support bands.
