Hello All! Quick Intro

Hello Ladies!

I was a regular on the TTGP board for a while and took a break from the boards for a while when we started infertility testing. I just needed time away from it all when we started going to the RE, its hard to explain why. We have one beautiful 3 year old DS who we did not have any trouble conceiving and would love to have another, but after 14 months of trying, here we are. All of my testing was perfect but DH's counts have been hit or miss. His first SA was only 17 mil with 24% motility. His repeat was better, 40 mil with 30% motility. Last month was our first cycle of Clomid and Ovidrel with IUI. RE said that depending on what his counts were at that time, we would have to reevaluate our approach, do a few IUI cycles with injectables and then move on to IVF if necessary (insurance regulations). Luckily, DH's IUI sample counts were much better (75 mil and 15 mil motile post wash) even though it didn't work. Since he has had such varying counts, our RE wants to try one more cycle with the Clomid and Ovidrel and go from there. So, here I am. I felt like I needed to connect now, with other women who are experiencing this same secondary IF journey. I have had so many people who are trying to be supportive, saying things like "well, at least you have one already, some have none" and have no idea how hurtful that is. It makes me feel ungrateful and selfish. I can't wait to get to know all of you ladies and I hope your stays here are brief as well!

    Welcome! Good luck to you. The comments from people can be extremely hurtful. They don't understand that because we were lucky enough to have one child that it doesn't hurt to not be able to have another. Sometimes I think it hurts more. Wishing you luck!

    10/2009 - TTC#1 Stopped BCP! Let's DO this!
    1/2010 - BFP (Natural) --> 10/2010 - DS born! Yay!
    12/2010 - DH diagnosed with stage 3B testicular cancer. #cancersucks
    10/2011 - Complications with DH and lymph nodes in groin area removed. No longer able to ejaculate.
    1/2014 - TTC#2 - IUI#1. No luck. Findings: DH sperm did not survive freeze. RE recommends IVF with ICSI.
    3/2014 - IVF Cycle #1 Started BCP
    4/2014 - Lupron, Gonal-F, and Menopur
    5/7/2014 - ER day (25 eggs retrieved, 15 mature)
    5/10/2014 - 6 fertilized, 3 embryos frozen - one grade A and two Grade B. Plan was to grow out to blastocyst stage but rest of eggs arrested by day 3. Decided to freeze on day 3.
    2/9/2016 - FET #1 with Grade A (8 cell - 3 day embryo); 2/20 - Beta was <5. BFN.  :/ Waiting for period and start next FET.
    7/8/2016 - FET #2 with Grade B (8 cell - 3 day embryo), fingers crossed this one sticks. :)
    7/19 - Beta was 74. BFP!!!!; 7/21 - Beta was 182; 1st U/S on 8/2; 2nd U/S on 8/16 :)

    Hello - I hope your stay is short. I pretty much come back with some very candid and honest answers to their comments. That at least catches them off guard enough to leave me alone.

    Hysteroscopy #10 - scar tissue grew back reblocking my right tube
    #11 or IVF with scarring still inside?
    1 lone embryo from September 2016 retreival, dx with Trisomy 16, starting fresh
