I've had 2 separate OBs (seen during 2 separate losses) tell me to take baby aspirin. The first time it was mentioned I was too upset to ask questions about it and the second dr that mentioned it blazed through a very technical explanation of the reasoning behind it ( he lost me after saying something about my body attacking the placenta or something?)
Anyway, now that the fog from loss has started to clear, I was curious if anyone has a dummies version of the theory behind it and does anyone currently take it?
TIA
Re: baby aspirin? Do you take it?
I take it daily bc I have MTHFR mutation (homozygous 677), so I'll take it forever even when not ttc.

I'm confused how it would have anything to do with your body attacking the placenta. It's usually to help prevent clots. I just started taking it with my last pregnancy after I got my bfp bc I got my MTHFR results the same week. I never took it with my 3 prior pregnancies (one of which was a loss).

So it is to prevent clots?

@Littlemagen&ben, out of curiosity, is Lovenox standard protocol for all MTHFR patients your Dr treats? Or your specific mutation? No one will Rx me Lovenox since I've had 2 children before I knew about my mutation.
