Pear juice for constipation?

I think i saw something like that on here, just trying to figure out something for Ike, he hasn't pooed all day and the kid is like a clock when it comes to his poo, he always poos during his first nap of the day, lol.  Oh and i've tried "taking his temp", didn't work

    Temp thing didn't work for me either. I think it was me who posted about the pear juice. 1 oz per month of age of juice. I gave DD pear juice and it worked fairly well. It can take a few hours. Prune juice works the best.  DD has not been able to go poop all week without aid, so I feel like I am becoming an expert! lol.  Good luck!

    Our dr. had us use prune juice but I think I've seen other girls on here who have used pear juice.

    My doc says pear or apple juice for constipation. If taking his temp didn't work you could also try a sitz (sp?) bath;  put a little baking soda in warm water and sit him in the tub for a few.

    It hasn't even been a day? Why are you worried? My DD didn't go for seven days, and that is when my pediatrician said to 'help her out,' even though she wasn't acting uncomfortable. I don't know if you are BFing or FFing, but we are BFing, so maybe that makes a difference? I don't know.

    This sounds REALLY silly, but remind DH that he needs to get baby juice. DH nearly picked up regular juice this morning to refresh our supplies.

    I totally agree with kelbrian -- you need to wait longer and let baby work it out.  Schedules change, do you poop at the same time each day?!  Give baby at least a few days and you should probably ask your pedi before you give juice.  Mine said no juice yet and had me give sugar water (water and karo syrup).

    Last time Ike had this issue and i called his pedi he recommened taking his temp and/or juice if that didn't work, that's why i was asking initially, i didn't want to call the after hours number.  Also, he has been straining and crying all day, when i tried to take his temp, a little came out on the therm. so i know he HAS to go and just can't, but thanks for the heads up :)
