Rants / Raves / Symptoms: Raves: I'm 99% sure baby boy finally moved into a head down position last night... he's been hanging out transverse or oblique this entire time and I had just started stressing about getting him to move into a birthing position. What a good boy for listening to his mommy
Rants: cannot get comfortable sleeping at all. I toss and turn all night and throw in the reflux and sleeping well is a thing of the past
Upcoming Appointments: Friday for a routine appointment and GBS
Questions for the group: none at the moment
GTKY: What baby/parenting books have you started reading/do you find most helpful? I asked this because I realized I've read all the pregnany books and almost nothing about once the baby is actually here! I have The Contented Little Baby and I have read parts of Bringing Up Bebe but I think I need something more basic like What To Expect the First Year or whatever the new Dr Spock is.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: Big & uncomfortable. I got plenty of comments from family that we haven't seen in a few months about how big I was. Lovely to hear. This baby is flipping and kicking all over the place. She's obviously has plenty of room still. I'm feeling hiccups all over my belly. BH's have really picked up after a week's hiatus.
Upcoming Appointments: Check-up & fluid check ultrasound tomorrow. If the fluid has gone down I'm going to ask to have my NST schedule cut in half (once a week instead of twice a week).
GTKY: What baby/parenting books have you started reading/do you find most helpful? I haven't read anything this pregnancy. Last time I read The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding and really enjoyed it.
Week / Fruit: 35/ coconut. At my last ultrasound they said he was about 5.5 lbs...that's a very big coconut.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: I. Feel. Awful. My whole body hurts and I was up all night alternating between chills and sweats. I have no idea if this is pregnancy related or if I was lucky enough to pick up a virus.
Upcoming Appointments: This afternoon. Originally I was scheduled for the end of the week and he was going to perform the GBS test, but since the appointment got moved to today I wonder if it's too early? I kind of hope it's too early...as previously stated I feel horrible and am in no mood to be poked and prodded. Or spoken to, for that matter...
Questions for the group: How was everyone's Easter? We made brunch and then did a whole lot of nothing all day...so it was great. We did assemble the rock n play and the pack n play. By "we" I mean my husband did and I watched and then napped.
GTKY: What baby/parenting books have you started reading/do you find most helpful? Umm..I have a list of books that I'd like to read on Amazon but I haven't gotten to yet. I'm still trying to get through Breastfeeding Made Simple.
@sarawifenow congrats on the birth of your baby! I'm sure you are extremely busy and probably aren't on here a lot, but I hope you and baby are doing well!! :-)

YES, congrats @sarawifenow! I meant to give you a shoutout in the OP but I blame pregnancy brain.
@Aquinna82 my doc actually does the GBS swab at 35w so it might not be too early if your doc decided to do it today. Honestly, it's not bad at all, I promise. Took 2 seconds and I barely felt anything.

Thanks...I am kind of dreading it but I think I've made more of it in my head then it's actually going to be
Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday, standard check-up.
Questions for the group: None. To answer your question, @Aquinna82 my Easter sucked as I worked! I spent all day Friday at the car dealer (I bought a new car!) and all day Saturday at my shower and doing fun shopping stuff after that I got way behind and had to work on Sunday and forego a fun brunch hosted by my friend
GTKY: What baby/parenting books have you started reading/do you find most helpful? I like WTEWYE. I am VERY excited to read "How to Raise a Wild Child," which is focused on teaching your child to appreciate nature, being outdoors, etc.
Week / Fruit: 32/ Squash or bok choy. What is TBs obsession with squash?!
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: Symptoms: Extreme exhaustion, hungry, and yesterday I noticed my left breast started leaking.. fun
Upcoming Appointments: April 4
Questions for the group: None
GTKY: What baby/parenting books have you started reading/do you find most helpful? I haven't read any. I wasn't really planning to, but maybe I should? I've been reading what to expect when you're expecting, but that's it..

Rants / Raves / Symptoms: I woke up at 4:30am feeling like I got hit by a bus. Massive headache, sinus pressure, cough, fatigue, body aches, the works! I dare not take my temperature because I honestly don't want to know. I can't afford to take a sick day because with my luck my son is going to start coming down with something and MH just used up a sick day today for a dentist appointment so he won't be able to take another for a while. I am being a big baby right now. WAHHHH!
Upcoming Appointments: Tomorrow
Questions for the group: What have you found that are the best cold remedies while pregnant?
GTKY: What baby/parenting books have you started reading/do you find most helpful? None.
rants/ raves/symptoms: MY HIPPPPPPPPSSSSS!!! I have become an old arthritic woman in the course of two weeks. Everything I do hurts...and sleep? Yah, right.
upcoming appointments: tomorrow for a regular checkup.
questions for group: nada
GTKY: I just started reading The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding as well as The Happiest Baby on the Block, which came VERY highly recommended by a couple of friends who had their first baby last fall. Really digging it so far.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: Exhausted. My nesting energy has left the premises. I am so ready to meet baby boy. He seems like a pretty cool kid. He's way more responsive to voices and touch than DD was, so that's cool.
Upcoming Appointments: Tomorrow, OB for possibly GBS, fun.
Questions for the group: None
GTKY: What baby/parenting books have you started reading/do you find most helpful? I haven't read any this time, but when I was pregnant with DD I read Baby 411 and found it to be incredibly useful for practical advice on all kinds of newborn care, sleep patterns, and milestones.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: Raves: Hip joints are loosening. Baby girl's head is down and pressing down. Holy moly. The waddle is in full effect. Baby hiccups like nobody's business. Everything hurts. Just really anxious to meet my baby girl!
Upcoming Appointments: Next Thursday
Questions for the group:
GTKY: What baby/parenting books have you started reading/do you find most helpful? Haven't read anything.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: I'm so exhausted. I spoiled myself on spring break by sleeping a bunch and resting and the first day back today was really challenging. I have two more weeks until I go on leave and they cannot come soon enough. I feel bad my kids have basically a zombie for a teacher.
DH has been giving me foot rubs with euceren cream at night when I ask- it's seriously like a narcotic! I told him he has to remember this when labor starts because it puts me in such a zen.
My my symptoms are regular BH contractions, total exhaustion, and just feeling heavy and uncomfortable. Upcoming Appointments: Routine appointment next Friday. They're not testing me for group b strep or offering the tDap vaccine until I'm 36 weeks.
Questions for the group: It hit me this Easter that in a few weeks I will be in charge of all of the magic! I'm the Easter Bunny, I'm the Tooth Fairy, I'm Santa! What are some holiday/ birthday traditions in your family? one thing we do is on our birthdays my mom tells us the story of the day we were born. I could tell you moment to moment my birth story (including the moment the doctor got the forceps in place and put his foot on the bed for support and my dad passed out!) as well as both of my brothers'. I hope to tell my LO his birth story every year.
GTKY: What baby/parenting books have you started reading/do you find most helpful? weve read two baby books that were very helpful. the kind mama by alicia silverstone. I was happy to have lots of whole foods vegan environmentally friendly advice from TTGP to your baby's first six months. It totally impacted my decisions, including starting my leave before my baby comes to prepare my body, having some lay in time to allow my body to heal, ordering glass bottles instead of plastic, and focusing on healing foods instead of foods that can cause constriction. The second book we read was "Last Child in the Woods" I forget the authors name. DH and I are reading it together and its affirmed so much for us our desire to spend time with our baby outside. We love camping, went camping on our honeymoon, and go back to that camp spot on our anniversary. This year everyone has said "guess this year you'll be doing something different" and this book confirmed for us that no, we're going camping with our baby no matter how old he is. He needs nature to thrive.
@JoMunson one of my favorite things about birthdays was a that we got to have a treasure hunt. My dad would give us a clue that led us to a place in the house where a present was hiding. Then there was a clue on that gift. It was so fun to try and figure out where the gifts were hiding. Definitely my favorite birthday memory. Will totally be carrying out the tradition and probably calling my dad to have him write the clues for our kids.
rant/rave/sx: I had my biggest hormonal melt down Sunday night about how we are never going to be ready in time for the baby etc (my husband has done lots of things to prepare -he's graduating/job searching/going to birth lads w/me etc) but nothing 'physical' yet and I really need to see progress on the nursery (carpet replaced w/wood, room painted, crib assembled etc) and I'm still going to need to wash and put everything away!!! So yeah massive freekout!!! It wasn't pretty. (Apparently he has a plan for getting it all done "in time", but at this point I want I'd done yesterday).
Appt: next Thursday for a biwkly f/u.

GTKY: I should probably think about parenting books but I'm not able to get there in my head until the nursery is closer to completion.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: My feet are starting to swell a little, but weight gain is starting to be more stable (rather than exploding then stalling).
Rave- I was telling my husband that while we have always had a great relationship, I feel like we have grown SO much closer. Just the level of attention we give each other and consideration - it is the best feeling to feel myself growing closer to someone I already thought I was incredibly close to.
Upcoming Appointments: Today for NST
Questions for the group: I have had a weird taste in my mouth for days no matter what I eat - is it because my taste buds are changing or something else?
GTKY: What baby/parenting books have you started reading/do you find most helpful? Reading WTEWYE, but I loved the Living with Dogs and Kids book. I've noted several ya'll mentioned, and added to my Amazon account!
I had an appointment today and fluid check ultrasound and I am happy to report that my level has gone down to a normal range! (They discovered I had high amniotic fluid at 29w). So no more NST's!

I love her recipe book, The Kind Diet. I'm actually making the millet casserole tonight for dinner! Even though DH and I aren't vegan I really appreciate the way she talks about what we put into our bodies and how it affects our world.
Do the Tuesday Ticker-Change updates still go here too? If not, disregard.
Week / Fruit: 32/squash (squash, again?)
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: Mostly raves...I can't believe how close are all getting. Now, if only I didn't look and feel like a sausage. The swelling is real.
Upcoming Appointments: Regular OB appointment next Monday. Follow-up ultrasound four weeks from tomorrow to check on the placenta previa situation.
Questions for the group: None today!
GTKY: What baby/parenting books have you started reading/do you find most helpful? I bought Baby 4-1-1 but haven't started reading it yet. It's really intimidating.

I think I messed up my first ticker change (trying to carry the torch now that @sarawifenow is busy with her LO!). Editing the title now
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: insomnia, swelling from time to time, tired tired tired, my hair is thicker for sure, my belly is bigger, my boobs are all tingly, I'm reeaallly thirsty for water, I'm really excited I don't have much longer to go and am not in the first tri..bc I think I would die.
Upcoming Appointments: Thursday. Since my 6 hr L&D stint 2 weeks ago the doc wants to see me every week. He said she could come anytime now. I'm kinda hoping for modified BR.
Questions for the group: Anyone eating weird foods? I've been stuck on flour tortillas with butter and salsa lately. I also have to have some kind of chocolate afterwards. Oranges have been a big craving for me for most of my pg.
GTKY: What baby/parenting books have you started reading/do you find most helpful? What To Expect The First Year, Someone Could Get Hurt (to keep things light and laughable when they don't seem like they are), Happiest Baby On The Block, and Happiest Toddler On The Block

GTKY: What baby/parenting books have you started reading/do you find most helpful? Books? Reading? We are going to be the most clueless first parents EVER. My husbands famous line is "eh, cavemen did it, we should be fine!" - alrighty! Aka we are great at dodging the whole fact that we will be taking care of a tiny human in 6 weeks lol
Week / Fruit: 35/ Coconut - these comparisons are starting to get confusing
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: Sleeping is starting to get more and more difficult, I'm getting up around 3 times per night to pee and my hips wind up getting sore if I sleep on one side for more than an hour- but my sciatic pain is finally gone!! I am so grateful! I can walk again lol!
Upcoming Appointments: Tomorrow GBS testing. This appointment also marks the last of my 2 week appts- on to the weekly!
Questions for the group: none today
GTKY: What baby/parenting books have you started reading/do you find most helpful? I actually really enjoyed Your Baby's First Year For Dummies, it covered a lot. I also have What to Expect When You're Expecting- which I have just referred to certain sections of, and I have a breastfeeding book- I can't recall the name though.
@Kennedy0830 That's my husband's approach to parenting so far, too! When I started to get overwhelmed the other day, he said, "Think about the dumbest person you knew from high school. Their kids are still alive, right? We've got nothing to worry about!" I've done a fair amount of online research, but we haven't read any parenting books or done any classes and probably won't find time to do so before LO gets here. For the most part, our plan is to just "wing it,' which is his usual style but totally out of character for me since I'm usually such a planner.
Agreed with everyone who said the size comparisons are confusing. I tell my students the comparison once a month and the butternut squash one totally threw them, so I looked it up and another website said its about as big as three small flour bags and weighs about as much as one. They got that.
