Re: 3rd tri Check-in- Week of March 28

  • Good morning ladies! 32 weeks today! I can't believe I only have 8 weeks left. Crazy!

My baby shower is this weekend so DH and I should be able to get everything set up and then buy everything else we need.

QOTW: I'd tell myself that the struggle will be worth it and that pregnancy will come eventually! I'd also go back and tell myself to get treatment sooner. I feel like I wasted so much time.

@CTinNV : looking forward to your update! Hope you're doing well!
@efhoping2010 : hope you're also doing well! I'm not sure whether you've had your little guys yet, but if so, I hope everyone is doing well. Thinking of you!

I just came back from my OB appointment (35 weeks tomorrow). All is fine...it's hard to believe how smoothly this has all gone so far, and has the day approaches, it's hard to think that things might just all be okay (IF brain I think?). We had a crazy weekend! I had to work all day on Friday because I have tons of reports to write before I go on mat leave. So I wrote an entire 25-pages report in a day, only to get an email from a reluctant dad this morning somehow having a last minute conflict in his schedule...needless to say, I'm not happy right now, and stressed about when I'm going to be rescheduling them. We then had our maternity shoot Saturday morning (see pic  ) and then had a bunch of errands to run in the afternoon before my parents arrived for a visit (we live 6hrs away from them now). Then my dad proposed that we move stuff from my office to the house that night so we could enjoy the beautiful weather on Sunday. So we went to bed at midnight, and I was pooped. Then my dad wanted to go explore the conservation areas we have around here (and not so secretly was hoping I'd go into labour), so we spent the day walking about 6.5km. Needless to say, my lower back and feet have been killing me! But it was a gorgeous day! And now I have a bit of an insane week! I'm officially without an office as of Thursday, and will be meeting my last few clients in a colleagues' office on April 8 and 11...then I'm officially DONE and on mat leave until late September/Early October. I CAN'T wait!

QOTW: I wish I could go back and tell myself not to worry and that I needed to believe a little more, and trust my doctors who would tell me I'd be pregnant before the end of the year. I can't tell you how much I cried in both my GP's and RE's office, especially as we were approaching my surgery date. I had a laparoscopy because they realized once in there I had severe endo, but the initial reason was an hysteroscopy to fix the shape of my uterus, and I was so afraid my doctor would just mess up my uterus more than it already was and ruin all chances of ever getting pregnant. It's weird how this all feels so fresh still, yet so far removed.

  • @KidShrink If only we knew then what we know now... we could have avoided a lot of tears. I LOVE that picture. Cocker spaniel right? I don't know if we've discussed this before or not, but I have two!

  • @AdorkablePixie : thanks  ! Yes, our little girl is a cocker (she's a mix betwen an English and an American cocker, so that's why she's a bit bigger and doesn't have quite the same forehead as the more usual American cockers)! I think we may have spoken about our cockers at some point on the IF board. She was such an attention whore with the photographer! We only got a sneak peek of the session and should get the other pictures in the next day or two, but I suspect she's going to be in a LOT of them!

How did your move go? Good that you got your house before your shower so you don't have to move everything again!

@KidShrink That's so cute. My one cocker ALWAYS looks away when I am about to snap a picture and the other is blind now so she's not really sure what's going on. lol

Our move went okay. DH and his friend got all our stuff moved from storage to the house in 8 hours. I have gotten the kitchen unpacked so far and that's about it. We are both really overwhelmed with everything. I am hoping to have the house in order by Friday since my best friend from FL flies in Friday night and my cousin Saturday morning for my baby shower! Yikes.

Hi ladies! Glad everyone is doing well! Unpacking and moving is the worst @AdorkablePixie! And that picture is gorgeous @KidShrink !!

31w +2d and 8 weeks from now I'll be holding our son! Can't believe it!
Tomorrow I have regular OB appointment. I'm uncomfortable but it's bearable. I'm anxious for our furniture to come in so his room can actually start looking like nursery instead of an empty room with baby clothes sprawled all over the floor.

  • @NB817 I am so anxious to get started on our nursery. So far we have done nothing. We need to go get paint first, as we are doing a red accent wall. After that DH and I can assemble the crib and paint the dresser and stuff. There is so much to do and I feel like not a lot of time!

  • Glad to see that everyone is doing well and I am not the only one who does not have the nursery ready  Ours will be delivered this Sunday so I am excited. I don't really want to paint the room. So I am thinking about wall decals. If anyone have any suggestions on where I can get those that would be great. I did order the rocking chair and it apparently takes 6-8 weeks to be delivered so let's see when that arrives.

QOTW: I'd tell myself not to google so much :)
  • Decals are fantastic @Binnie505 ! We got some really nice ones (birch trees and owls) from someone on Etsy. What's nice about the ones on Etsy is that most times, you can personalize the colors so it's exactly what you want. There's definitely plenty out there. I've also bought some from WalMart for my office in the past, and while they're not the same quality, they look great too!
  • @KidShrink thank you. I'll try those. And the one that you posted is cute. Thanks a bunch. And btw ur photo shoot is simply adorable :)
  • Hello, @KidShrink and all the 3rd Tri ladies! Greetings from 40 weeks and 4 days!

My induction is tomorrow at 5a, and we can't believe it. It's been the weirdest day knowing that tomorrow is THE day. I had an OB appointment Monday and I was 4 cm dilated and 75% effaced so the doctor just thinks I need a little kick start to get things going for me. I promise to post about the new little man once all is well. Thank you all for the wonderful support you've given me throughout this journey!

QOTW: This is especially poignant given tomorrow. I would tell my past self to trust in the medicine, doctors, and the process. We're the lucky ones who got here. I have a friend who went through two rounds of IVF and ended up with a lot of bills and no baby so I can't tell my past self to not stress entirely. Just breathe and have faith.

  • Hello ladies!! So excited to be in the third tri -- hard to believe time has gone by so quickly!!!  I am 28+5 today.  Had my glucose test and tdap yesterday.  sadly, I just got the call that I failed the test (170) and have to go in for the three hour tomorrow.  I am super bummed.  Doctor said she is absolutely surprised that I failed.  She thought I would pass with flying colors.  Let's hope that's the case for tomorrow's test

@kidshrink I love your decals!! we too ordered some for our LO, but they keep coming off the wall!! The seller has sent us new ones, I am going to put them up this weekend.. hopefully they stick because they are super cute.  Construction Trucks for our little man.

    @ctinv I hope all is going/went well!!

QOTW:  I would tell myself that nothing worth having is ever easy, and that there is a plan bigger than my own, so be patient, persistent, and positive.  Everything happens for a reason, and usually never in the time we want.

  • Welcome @kaitielynnrichardson ! I'll make sure to add you to the list!
Had you painted just before putting the decals on? I know that if there's still any humidity in there (they recommend you wait several weeks), then there's more chances of them peeling. Hopefully your new ones stick better!
  • I didn't.  I painted in 2014 when I was expecting the first time.. Fingers crossed they work a bit better this time!!
  • @CTinNV All the best. Hope things go smoothly for u :)
