Hi there, ive been a lurker for the past year whilst ttc with DH on our own. Clomid #1 after laproscopy, hysteroscopy etc... day 12 scan was perfect (big juicy egg folicles..nurses words not mine) Had Ovidrel and BD!! Day 22 AF arrived with a vengence...im always a 28-29 day cycle. Nurse has said that it just happens.... has anyone had this experience, ive read the Internet dry and would love some feedback from here.
Were you charting to know how long your normal LP is? If you triggered on CD12, I guess you would have O'd on CD13 or CD14? So that would have given you an 8-9 day LP, which is on the short side, but is that normal for you?
My first round of Clomid, my LP was 10 days with spotting starting at 9DPO, instead of my normal 12 days. I also scoured Dr. Google for info but couldn't really find much to link Clomid to a shorter LP. This past cycle, second round of Clomid, my LP was 11 days, so it is getting back to normal for me. I think the nurse is right, things just happen sometimes, bodies are weird, and things can change at any time for any or no reason.

@77samiam Are you currently charting? If not I would strongly suggest downloading the Fertility Friend app and get a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility. Also, if you haven't already please read THE ULTIMATE TTGP GUIDE and The Bump Guidelines. Please lurk to get a feel for the boards first. When you are ready you can participate in the WTO(Waiting to Ovulate) and TWW(Two Week Wait) Boards.
Temping and tracking will allow you to pinpoint your ovulation and be able to track your luteal phase(which rarely changes between cycles). Clomid allows for ovulation 5-10 days after the pill is taken. I took mine days CD5-9 and ovulated on CD16, a day later than usual. But I could have ovulated earlier and therefore made my cycle look shorter than normal.
I started off temping but when i was given the Ovidrel on day 12 i figured it was a certainty... (maybe this is where i went wrong? ) Typically i ovulate CD 13-14, with my LP lasting 14-15 days. Im ok with month 1 being a trail, but im low on eggs so my specialist said she may only give me 2 cycles of clomid before we start IVF. Im 38 yrs old. Ill get temping now even though ill be taking ovidrel again on day 12. Thanks for sharing
