TTC After a Loss

Crampy most of my cycle post-d&c

It's been 2 months since my two d&cs.

I've had two periods and I can't believe how much cramping I get...all cycle long.

Intense pressure the week surrounding ovulation.

And then more cramps the week before my period.

Has this happened to anyone else? I was thinking this was implantation pain, but it's pretty constant.

It's really discouraging.

Re: Crampy most of my cycle post-d&c

  • Yeah my first few cycles post loss were very heavy, crampy. Totally exhausting. Very unusual for me. It regulated after both losses though.

    DD1 born 5/24/10.

    Missed M/C at 14 wks Feb 2012.

    DD2 born 5/14/13.

    Missed M/C at 9 wks July 2015.

    Expecting someone new 4/17/17.

  • I haven't noticed any mid cycle pain. My periods are much heavier now and I have a lot more cramping than I had before the D and C. I'm glad to hear others have the same issue. I've been worried something is wrong. They never did a follow up ultra sound after my Procesure which worries me some times.

The worst part for me is that my PMS symptoms have been wayyyyy worse. I get horrible mood swings around ovulation and then with AF.
  • @BaylieGirl
Me too! Terrible. I'm a monster to my husband in particular. Bad anxiety. Weepy.
    Does this regulate?
  • Thank you @MWoodside.  I'm hoping it starts to ease up
  • I didn't have a D&C but rather used misoprostol at what should have been ten weeks. I've always had very very mild cramping starting about 8 days before AF (and did the cycle we conceived, too) but now I've had cramping since right after O. So, some extra cramps. They are possibly related to my fibroids, also maybe not. Sorry, it sucks.

  • Yes, you're not alone! I feel hyper aware of what is happening to my body pretty much all month long. Super intense ovulation sensation/pain, crampy AF, and even tingles and jabs randomly. I hate it! It makes the TWW even more maddening. My periods are also miserable to the point of wanting to stay in bed for days. Yay.
  • I  didn't have a D&C but just started my first cycle yesterday and holy cramps.   I'm hoping this isn't a new normal and just my body trying to become regular again.

  • Oh goodness @silentP so many hugs. I've been lucky that my periods aren't too intense. The days leading up to ovulation are horrendous though. i think it is a hyper-awareness. With all of my pregnancies I have felt implantation. Now I just feel constant twinges, and cramping.
  • My ovulation cramps are so intense and so distinctive I can pinpoint ovulation from the cramps alone. Although, obviously I cannot predict it so, I still chart, etc.

My periods have always been awful but, my cytotec experience put them in a whole new perspective. However, like @silentP my periods have been bad enough to stay in bed and sometimes I even vomit with them. The only thing that brought them to a normal and more functional pain level was acupuncture.

Needless to say, it will be interesting what my first post-loss period will be like since, this is my latest loss gestationally, aside from the ectopic.

  • @iceandsnowflakes29 I'm so sorry, I hope that your period isn't terrible.
