Our DDs name is Allison (she goes by Ally, I swore she wouldn't but it happened) anyway if this LO is a girl I want the name Molly (it's a family name and I love it.) Is that to close to Ally? I need random peoples judgement.

I like it. The vowels have different sounds so they aren't too much alike. They compliment each other

I have an Allison too! Though we always planned to call her Allie

I think Molly is fine! If this one is a girl I have been thinking about Abigail and calling her Abbie but idk if I love it.

They definitely have the same -llie sound at the end, but SO many girl's names end with -a or -ie, it's pretty common for sister named to end similarly. I don't think they're too matchy-matchy.

I don't think they're too similar, but they also go together. I always things it's strange when I have siblings (I'm a teacher) with completely opposite names: Eleanore (super traditional) and Striker (more modern), etc.
