1st Trimester

Orgasm? *loss mentioned*

my husband and I are 9 weeks pregnant after 5 months of TTC after a missed miscarriage at 9.5 weeks. I've read mixed messages about sex and orgasms during first trimester, I'm terrified to orgasm, but also feel so connected physically to my husband so it's fairly difficult situation. As most losses, we're not for sure what caused it but I pretty much avoid anything that might remotely be connected to a loss. Any thoughts? Thanks so much!

  • Orgasms do not cause you to miscarry
  • Sex it up, seriously.  The endorphins released by an orgasm has been well studied and show that they have positive feedback to your body.
Only IG your provider states otherwise, sex and orgasm during pregnancy and not only sage but encouraged (assuming you want sex).
    Thank God for Raid.

  • Orgasms won't cause you to miscarry. You're fine.
Miscarriage is caused by genetic problems.  So many women who miscarry feel like they 'did something wrong', but the truth is that nothing you can do will prevent a miscarriage.

Orgasms do not cause you to miscarry.  Enjoy sex while you can!
Not all miscarriages are caused by genetic/chromosomal issues. There are known modifiable risk factors for miscarriage as well as some conditions which can increase the risk of them.

  • my previous losses were because of my thyroid, if it had been caught earlier yes it could have been prevented....

Yes, like certain medicine, drugs, extreme radiation exposure  (think CT scan of abdomen or pelvic), and certain issues with the mother (like clotting disorders  or health issues like kidney failure )
