Swollen lymphnode behind baby's ear

Obviously I've already talked to Dr about this. At my daughter's last appointment she was 10 weeks old. I asked Dr about the bump behind her ear. Dr said it was a swollen lymphnode and was probably caused by some redness behind her ear. She told me to put hydrocortisone cream on it and that's what I've been doing. She is now 12 weeks and the lymphnode is still swollen but has not gotten any bigger and I continue to use the cream. Just wondering if anyone has dealt with this and how long it will take for the lymphnode to go down.

Re: Swollen lymphnode behind baby's ear

  • My DS has had a swollen lymph node on the behind his ear since before his 1 month appointment and still has it. My pediatrician said not to worry about it and didn't say to do anything to try and make it go away that it would eventually on its own. He did say that as long as it's soft and moves when we press on it and not hard to touch then it's absolutely nothing to worry about.

  • My DD has a bump behind her ear also! Doesn't seem to bother her...called the pedi and she wasn't concerned
  • DD has a swollen lymph node at the base of her skull/top of her neck. She's had this since birth and is 13 weeks now. Doc said it's totally normal. And as she's gotten bigger it's less obvious.
  • @chewie5990 @mperotti220 @Court11152325 update: asked the Dr about it on Monday and she said it was fine. She said it can sometimes take them awhile to go down!
  • My guy had this!
